Wasn't sure if it meant he was still injured or training.

Arsenal given Shkodran Mustafi injury boost ahead of FA Cup trip to Portsmouth

Oh well - he's fit. Hopefully he can play with his buddy Luiz so we can fully concentrate on a top 10 finish in the league. does that get us a trophy nowadays?

That unfortunately is the realty of modena day Arsenal BUT we still have a huge fan Base across the globe, we are still a well known name in European football even if not a huge name in European football and we are still a very very big club in English football even if not currently amongst the very biggest.

The past is now nothing but a memory while admittedly the present isn't exactly brilliant but the future? It's all still to be decided and we still have lots and lots going for us from which we can rebuild our team squad and club into a true force once again.

Genuinely usually enjoy reading your posts SY - don`t agree with all of them but that`s the point of the site - but we are in transition which I take to mean seasons rather than one game.

Can`t be doing with we won well done boss we lost sell the fecking lot! Same boss same team. We have no God given right to win anything - some haven`t won for 29 years or since 1961 zzzzzz oh hang on I just dropped off :)

If you think Arteta is the wrong man that`s different but I think he is the right man hence time to be given. I also think we are well in the mix for top four ( game in hand won leaves us just 5 points behind an inconsistent Chelsea. ) and am excited for Tierney, Mari and Soares playing and Saliba arriving ready for next season.

Top priority is keeping Auba and reinforcing the CB position. It will take time and reacting to every game will send you potty! COYG.

Well said Sussex.

I think top 4 is an extremely hopeful target Sussex mate but it's also a no lose situation too in many ways as long as people are hopeful rather than expectant of a top 4 finish what's the harm.

This season has been an absolutely awful one for us and I personally don't think there is any hope of turning a pigs ear into a silk purse but equally i'm not that fussed if we don't.

It's next season where I will start to expect real genuine improvement in consistency of both performance and results.

Arteta took over half way through a marathon when we were already miles behind so for me it's all about getting ready for the next race.

{Ed047's Note - we’ve still to play Wolves, Spurs, Liverpool and Leicester who are above us of our 10 games left and we’re 8 points from Chelsea in 4th with a game in hand.

That will be some run of results to do it.

Absolutely Ed047 mate its a possibility and stranger things have happened but we haven't seen anything like the transformation that would required to make it a reality so far since Mikel took over to make any of us rush to the bookies to place hefty sum on it actually happening.

So far we've seen some good 45 minute performances, an upturn in effort and a little more resilience in defence which might be something to build on long-term but to suggest us putting in 12 game run in of outstanding quality required?

For me it's a lot lot more of a hope than a very likely proposition.

I wouldn't fancy going on dragons den and trying to sell the idea let's put it that way :-)

{Ed047's Note - I don’t think many, if any, if any of the Dragons would offer you their hard earned cash mate but stranger things have happened.

Which ever team finally gets 4th place it promises to be an interesting race, with what, 6 clubs in with a chance.

Chelsea play Everton City Liverpool Wolves add to that Watford and Sheffield United that’s half their fixtures plus two lo don derbies. I’m not confident just saying we’re in mix . It’s a terrible season so far for everyone except Pool unless City win CL. If a team puts a run together over last 10/ 11 games top four is theirs . COYG.

02 Mar 2020 15:57:18
Plus Chelsea are 5/ 6 on and we are 18/ 1! Bet responsibly ladies and gentlemen COYG.

02 Mar 2020 19:11:27
Is anyone confident enough of us making top 4 that they will walk from Lands End to John O Groats if we fail to do so? No!
How about walk a marathon distance 26 miles?
10 miles?
5 miles?
The corner shop?
The pub? :-) .
Who's the most confident fan on here in miles they'd be prepared to walk if we finish lower than 4th place? .
I'll go first with a bid of half a mile :-)

DO i hear 1 whole mile anywhere? :-)

02 Mar 2020 20:53:39
I’m in for 5 and if they fail it’ll be like Steve’s back the abuse I’ll give them 😂😂 5 miles around the Emirates and into the Tolley before a match! Who’s with me? 😂😂 COYG.

Good point Sussex - I’m happy to give Arteta a bit of tme. Still not convinced but like what he says. I’m frustrated with the super positive posts about changes, Mustafi is a star, Luiz is a super star etc. I would like to understand the reason why we should be so positive while squad is poor, spending has no direction and improvements minimal. Not having standards or being blind cost us with Wenger and Emery. I don’t want a repeat. That’s all. I e wanted a squad clear out for 3 years - win or draw my opinion has been consistent. I’ll try my best. 👍.

The bids with you Sussex mate :-)
