Alright ed001

What do you make so far Arsenal under Arteta?

{Ed001's Note - I don't see anything different from how things started under Emery. Players are trying again, but you are still hopeless defensively. I would give him much more time before judging him though, as he is new to being a head coach it will take him time to learn.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree . I would like to see a clear out of players, who are on astronomical high wages and start a fresh.

I’m surprised you said that Ed. Much more clean sheets and much less shots at our goal including drawing 2-2 with Chelsea with 10 men and to be honest we should have a lot more wins if Aubameyang and Lacazette took their chances. Even when we lost to chelsea, we played so well, Jorginho should of got a red and Leno made an error.

{Ed001's Note - Emperor's New Clothes. You are riding your luck again. Only time will tell if Arteta has actually got it in him to improve the defending but Newcastle could have been out of sight in the first half if they weren't dog turd in front of goal. You keep on about all your chances but none of you seem to have noticed you are still giving up huge numbers of chances. You were getting plenty of chances under Emery, that was never the issue until the players stopped trying. The only thing that has changed is the players are once more giving it their all.}

We did start well under Emery.
However, we were at a very low ebb when Arteta was appointed. Since then we have only lost once. Most of the players have improved and the fitness and tactics are improving. Arteta needs to bring his own players in, to replace those that are simply not good enough and he needs the summer break to work on tactics etc. So far so good.

I agreed with you when you said it about emery Ed, but this time I disagree HOWEVER we will have to wait and see who’s right! lol.

{Ed001's Note - as I said, it is far too early to judge him yet, I am just saying that so far nothing has actually changed. Early days and he needs a full season at least before he can be judged, imo.}

Fair enough Ed.

Not really sure how anyone can think nothing has really changed under arteta? Unless I’ve been watching a completely different arsenal to everyone else the last few games. I would say just about everything has changed, granted the points return hasn’t been spectacular and maybe I’m seeing something that isn’t there but there are large portions of the games now where I actually feel like this is my arsenal again, and haven’t felt that for a very long time, but it’s just my opinion and you are entitled to yours as much as I am haha.

Ed001 I used the emperor’s new clothes analogy a good few months ago on Emery and got killed on here. You’ve used it twice now to good effect. what’s going on

To be fair - anyone who watches the games and doesn’t think we’ve improved isn’t watching properly but they also have a great point as the issues are still there.

Watch the first half of Chelsea game or Newcastle game / we were terrible and that’s Arteta who’s accountable. Our defence is porous still, midfield weak, poor decisions, poor passing and movement, first decision - sideways. If you don’t see it - change your glasses as it’s not healthy for the club

Newcastle should have been up by the 50tj minute and defence was making the same mistakes - time and time again.

Stupid excuses - long grass zzzz

However - if you watch a couple of games you can see improvements for sure but not consistent enough to say we’ve changed. Enough change to give us hope but not enough consistency to say we’ve changed.

{Ed001's Note - you have summed it up excellently, better but not right yet.}

To say nothing has changed yet under Arteta, is not a right analysis, I believe. A lot have changed in the right direction, but we still have a lot to improve as well. Under Emery we couldn't see what the players were trying to do (I'm not sure whether they knew either) . But under Arteta people have a lot more clearer instructions like AMN playing as RM and allowing Saka to venture forward, Arteta covering up for Saka and more recently Ceballos holding his position as a deep midfielder to allow Ozil to dictate the game etc., and a special mention to Mustafi who has been good earlier, now has become a lot more dependable. Of course, he needs time to create a well drilled/ oiled machine but to say nothing has changed yet, is totally a pessimistic thought. Anyway, it's my opinion though!

{Ed047's Note - SY and Ed01 have it spot on for me Sen, neither are saying nothing has changed but explain the reality of what we’re seeing.

It’s not a bad thing but just a pretty good unbiased assessment mate.

I understand, Ed047, Cheers! :)

{Ed047's Note - no probs Sen 👍🏼
