Arteta highlighted a problem at the club in terms of full backs. We have one RB, Bellerín who arrived as a young winger from Barcelona and has never convinced defensively.

AMN is a converted midfield player, who is also poor defensively, although under Arteta he is improving in this area. We are unfortunate to have both LB's injured, but Kolasinac isn't great defensively. Saka, an 18 year old attacking player, is doing a creditable job, but where is a young LB ready to step in?

We need to invest in a pair of fullbacks, which are vital in the modern game. Hence why we are after PSG's LB and previously went after their RB. You only have to look at Liverpool's superb fiull backs to see our urgent need.

And Liverpools fullbacks cost?
In the words of Mualder and Scully THE PLAYERS ARE OUT THERE :-)
Option A is always look for ready made pay what it costs to get them but there is always option B which is spot raw talent buy develop it into all you need, I think Artetta is capable of option B which is handy because we don't have the money for option A.

G62 - Trent-Arnold cost nothing, he came through the ranks at Liverpool and Robertson cost an initial £8m in 2017 from Hull. Your point?
Precisely my point, where are our young full backs? Why are we having to convert players or play players out of position. The positive thing is that Arteta has realised the problem and will no doubt sort it out.

That was my point RG the Liverpool fullbacks cost next to zilch in today's footballing terms but with Klopps input and training both mentally and physically they have become the world's best fullback pairing.

Everyone refers to the 150 million Alison and Van Dyke cost Liverpool as a reason for thier unbelievable upturn in fortunes under Klopp but in reality Alison and Van Dyke are the exception to rather than the true reason behind Liverpools amazing resurgence.

Spending 100s of millions is only one possible route to excellence but even spending huge isn't a guarantee as United have proved but luckily for us and others including Liverpool there is another option to simply spending.

Hopefully what we've seen from Artetta coaching he has what it takes to follow the Klopp method I Just hope he has the same vision when spotting which players to buy, but if he hasn't that's not a problem as long as we bring in someone who has, Edu and Raul unfortunately look nothing like those people to me.

Just to make it clear I'm not undermining the importance of Alison and Van Dyke far from it they are both huge players and huge cogs in the Liverpool wheel, it was only their fees I was referring to as being an exception rather than a rule.

I absolutely hate to see our back line playing with their arms behind their backs. So unnatural and surely doesn't help with their balance and therefore their ability. I'd rather they risked the occasional handball to play freely.

TAA is a converted midfield player.

Personally I rate Belerin very highly but because of his pace he's always expected to be in two places at the same time for 90 minutes especially under Emery, I think both Klopp and Gardiola would develope him into a very very top fullback and hopefully so will Arteta.
Although poor old Ox is injury prone he's now a completely different player to the shrinking violet who was either subbed benched or played out of postion at Arsenal, the lad looks very much at home in the best team in the world where he always looked untrusted and under appreciated at Arsenal.
