I'm glad Freddie has gone.
I think he has taken us backwards, caused unrest in the team, with senior players.
I was at the game as a guest, and spent the first half watching Aubameyang, he looked lost, he was pointing to were he wanted the ball.
He is a top player, he needs quick passes.

Some of our youth are not ready.
Nelson looked out of his depth, worked hard but not quite ready, Ran into two off our players, on two occasions
Smith Rowe Same as above lacked quality
Saka Worked hard and deservers his place
Wilock shocking

Everton where their for the taken.
Pepe, lacazette Auba 2nd half for me.
But Fickle Freddie wanted to show some power,
The results under him have been rubbish, We are a mid table team
Offer him the under 23 job. Or thank him for what he did as a player, As a manager he was hopeless.

It say a lot for our club
That at the end the top 3 linked to our club (paddy Power) .
Where all ex players.
Arsenal are killing me at the moment, they are breaking my heart.
Still we have a new year coming and Arteta to look forward too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fredie and Mertesacker are both old Arsenal, fully paid up card carrying members of the Arsene/ Emery school of football management where players are either allowed to rule the roost and become totally unmotivated or Just plain confused and disillusioned.
Personally I'd get rid of all those who've been around during the cosy or confused Arsenal years.
Artetta has had time away and seen how things can be done differently and successfully the last thing he needs is people all around him dragging him back into the old Arsenal ways he left behind a few years back, he needs everyone fully on board with his new ways from day one anything will split the players into devisive pro old and pro new camps and finish Artetta chances before they've even began.
Pep and Jurgen are undisputed kings of their castles as was Fergie and all successful managers have to be.

Just to put a little balance on Freddie. As a player - he was never in the comfort years. Always turned up to big games and normally scored. Unfair criticism.

When he took over as manager - he had injuries, a team in crap form and no preseason unlike the useless Emery who people gave a season and a half to even though his first season was disastrous in terms of improving the defence.

Freddie had to borrow Per from the Acadamy and had no support eg analyst to watch opponents via scouting visits. Hardly fair - he dropped Laca, Luiz etc and personally thought he improved us in Emery despite squad, time and resources.

Seems a bit tough to judge an invincible who always delivered quite so quickly but put our head up our arses for a preseason, full season, preseason plus half a season with Emery.

I would say players who have put it in deserve a little more respect. Also, I believe it was Freddie saying please back me with resources or make an appointment - seems to love the club, make changes, brave and wanted to address weaknesses.

Love to all.

I totally respect your right to feel how you feel SY mate, Fredie was an invincible and like all the invincibles gave us much pleasure we will never forget but living in the past has prevented us being all we could have been since May 2004.
Arsene servived at the very least 4 or 5 seasons longer than he should because of the past should we stay indebted to the invisibles forever no matter where that leads us mate?
It's just opinion mate and how right or wrong in am I don't know but I am convinced that until we restrict our sentiment abd appreciation to striclkly non footballing roles like club ambassadors match day hosts at the club we will continue to decline.

I’m not saying give him the number 2 role but he’s done well with youngsters etc plus he shouldn’t be treated like the bad guy. That’s all. He’s still a loyal staff member who stepped up when we needed him. That’s all. Treat him with the respect he’s earned with us as a player and a coach.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely SY..

I get what you are saying SY and of course he's not a bad guy but I genuinely don't think Fredie Mertesacker or anyone who's been involved with the old ways should be in postion of influence in the immediate future, harsh I agree but in my opinion necessary if we are to introduce a who new accepting and taking responsibility mentality.
Maybe it's just me but after the West ham and Brighton games Fredie sounded Just like Arsene and Emery telling a completely different story to the one we'd all Just witnessed for ourselves and I really struggle with people painting a false rosey story and trying to convince me what I just saw wasn't real and their version is.
I can handle sorry that was awful but I can't handle i thought we were brilliant for a 20 minutes spell and deserved more out of the game.
