Hello ed001, just wanted to get your opinion on Allegri and Brendan Rodgers as managers? Do you rate them, strengths/ weaknesses etc?

{Ed001's Note - neither are really effective as managers. Both are coaches that need a director of football type above them.

Allegri has always operated as a head coach and, while defensively solid, he does have a reputation for being extremely difficult. His teams do not exactly play attacking football but he knows how to win.

Rodgers is a good coach, but only in the short term, in the long term his teams end up overplaying and playing possession football, passing for the sake of passing for long periods. His recruitment is appalling as well. He has no eye for a player at all. Oh and long term defensive coaching is an issue. He took over a solid base at Leicester, but he wouldn't have that at Arsenal and he has no idea about organising defences.

How come you didn't ask about Marcelino? Someone who has actually been approached. He is like an over-excited leprechaun bouncing around on the sidelines but gets good football from his teams of the kind more suited to Arsenal. Long term, again, he would be a problem as he talks far too much and will complain constantly about issues.}

Thanks Ed, your replied quickly! There are whispers that Pochettino is the man arsenal want, opinions?

{Ed001's Note - never going to happen, why would he want to join Arsenal? This is a man who has said he would never manage one of his former team's rivals.}

Yeah that’s true, I JUST WANT ALLEGRI!

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure it matters who is put in charge until you sort out the rest of the club.}

Thanks Ed, I wonder if Rodgers will be tempted to leave.

{Ed001's Note - he will go anywhere for money and probably claim to be a lifelong fan as well.}

Lol sour grapes Ed. I don’t see him coming arsenal to be honest anyway.

{Ed001's Note - nothing to do with sour grapes, if he wasn't interested in jumping ship for the money he would have said he was not ready to move having only just taken over at Leicester. Instead he just made sure everyone knew it was true that he had a get out clause. He joined both Liverpool and Celtic claiming to be a lifelong fan of both, but he was happy to jump ship from Celtic when offered a pay rise. Everything is about him, all him. If his team wins, it is because of his decisions. A player plays well, it is because of something he did. When things go badly though, it is always someone else's fault, never anything to do with him.}

Lool so ed do you think he might end up at arsenal?

{Ed001's Note - no idea. Seems unlikely Kroenke would splash the extra cash required after the heavy spending in the summer and then paying off Emery.}

Fair enough, thanks Ed mate!

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}
