What are people's thoughts on the weekend game and Freddie's 1st line up? I would think that with 2 days to go, he would stick with Emery's favoured formation but he didn't really have one! Last season with the u23's his favoured was 4-2-3-1 but he was encouraged to incorporate 3 at back in to his sessions. I think he will stay with 4-2-3-1 but the interesting part will be the team selection. Ozil, Pepe, Laca and Auba I would say are almost certain to start. I think he will go with Guendouzi and Torriera holding with a normal back 4, dependant on Luiz's fitness from the knock he took last night. Looking forward to the game now! COYG!

I hope he sticks to the 4-2-3-1 Glenn. Any manager needs to pick a formation that suits his players, and i think the top 4 of Lacca, with Auba, Ozil and Pepe as the 3 behind picks itself. I personally would like to see Torriera and Luiz as the midfield base, as this would be at least something different to what we have previously done (harsh on Guendouzi perhaps, but he is starting to become Xhaka mark 2 IMO, with his distribution becoming more slow and negative) . At some point I would also love to see a British centre back pairing of Holding and Chambers. Might not work, but again, something different, and no point in any new manager doing exactly the same as before, either in formation or players picked.

Id be happy to see him go with your 11 Glen mate and ideally I'd like to see us concede fewer than 10 shots against ideally less than 7 because that would prove this team capable of doing it defensively immediately which would be as exciting seeing us create 30 but concede 20.
You'd have to expect to see much more hunger and effort from the players v Norwich now they have something to get behind again.

Yeah Epping Luiz done a good job there tbh before he got taken off injured. The trouble with Guendouzi imo is that he actually hasn't been tough how to adapt and change to the way a CM needs to play at the top level, especially in the prem. He is very mature for his age and with the right coach he can shine, the potential is there for him to be a solid regular in the heart of the midfield. Some may disagree but the lad was playing 2nd tier French football before he made the step up and got chucked straight in. He's shown more heart than many of the current squad and I feel like he's been a bit neglected somewhat. I agree Gunner mate, fingers crossed Freddie can re-engerise the squad by Sunday and bring the best out of them, defensively more than anything. Roll on game day.

Id imagine team moral will be lifted as they clearly were not happy under Emery and his tactics. I don't think things will change overnight but, something needed to give.

Have to agree Glen, overall I am a fan of Guendozi and I hope he continues to improve. I just think he has temporarily lost his way currently, which is not a surprise based on the way we are playing.
