The trending topic seems to be about who will replace Emery for next season but i fear our problems go even deeper.

Couple years back we signed Mislintat and Sanllehi in a bid to take some responsibility off Wenger's and his successors' shoulders. Mislintat was supposed to become our technical director but instead he left us for Stuttgart. In the summer he explained this by basically saying that the new leaders at the club overlooked him when it came to signing new players. Subsequently we struggled to find a capable successor, with at least Monchi (and probably others) turning us down. In the end we had to settle for Edu.

For me this is the biggest problem we have at the moment. The technical director doesn't have enough influence as the leadership rather do things their way. Here's a link to the article on which i've based this post on:

Mislintat on Arsenal article

And i'm relying on quotes so i'd say this is pretty reliable.

If this is true then it could mean that we have a coach and technical director at the club who have very little impact on the transfers we make. No wonder we had trouble finding a successor for Wenger (i believe Ed002 said Emery was far from first choice) and then lost Mislintat and barely managed to replace him.

You could argue Mislintat is just bitter after leaving, but if every reputable candidate for head coach and technical director rejects you, i'd say there's something wrong in the way the club is being run.

Good post, and resonates with what we have been seeing. It might also explain the reticence of the board in getting rid of Emery - nobody of note wants the job. If this is so, they need to sort it out sharpish.

Very good post ice mate, obviously things aren't brilliant behind the scenes which have obviously cost us Sven and who knows else wanting to be part of Arsenal.
For us fans we can basically only go on what we are privy to and obviously what we all see with our own eyes is a very talented squad being completely wasted on the pitch, we see a different 11 every single game and a different formation almost every game too.
It sounds like there are definitely other problems throughout the club but the most pressing one for all of us is someone anyone other than the man we have as head coach now who's tactics decisions and ideas absolutely no one other than himself seems to have a clue about or any understanding of.
We don't need someone for the next 10 years or even next season to come in immediately all we need is someone to come in and simplify everything in a way the players can totally understand and get they're heads around quite easily, I think this alone would have a huge immediate impact on player and fans morale and bring an instant upturn in results and performances.
