Tomorrow's team selection will be interesting, as will the reaction to the result in a tough fixture.
I have a sense that the squad are unhappy with the treatment of certain players and Emery is losing their trust.
I have never understood Emery's policy regarding the team captain. The 5 captain policy is baffling, as is the idea of allowing the players to select the captain. For me, and of course others may disagree, David Luiz would be a decent shout. He is experienced, well liked by the players and has won many trophies. Another player I would consider is Lacazette.

Not being funny but does it matter anymore who Emery picks or what he does?
For most fans it's over, he's finished and until he's gone it's difficult to get very excited about anything to do with the club.
5 captains, players mock vote, bizarre team selections, tactics, no attempts to organise or improve our defence or make our centre midfielder more disciplined in order to protect our defence, what is the point in worrying or wasting your time thinking about what Emery might or might not do anymore.
Once he's gone it's game on again but until that happens just accept more strange decisions behaviour and poor performances and results will continue to be the norm.

{Ed047's Note - I listened to a guy earlier who said do the board want to lose £6 million now in a pay off or £45 million if we don’t make Champions League.
Still have to make the right choice on a replacement though.

I personally don't see what harm a caretaker could do if we can't get the right man now.
It's difficult to imagine anyone could do a worse job of organising and motivating than Emery, I say difficult to imagine rather than impossible to imagine because I said no one could do a worse job than Arsene with our defence and then along came Emery and proved me wrong :-.
The worst and caretaker would do is finished midtable and even that happend is 10th worse than 5th or 6th under Emery?
On the other hand a caretaker could bring calm and common sense in place of the absolute nonsense we have now.
Nothing to lose in my opinion.

Barring a change of fortunes I can't see Emery lasting beyond the endow the season. He has alienated Ozil and has made it clear that he wants Mustafi to go. The situation with Xhaka is a cause for concern as he appears to be popular with his teammates.
I can't see us winning tomorrow at Liverpool and perhaps it is time to replace Emery.
The 3 available choices that come to mind are:
1. Mourinho - My choice
2. Allegri - Assuming he is ready to return to management
3. Freddie - Perhaps on a temporary asis until the end of the season.

Yes to Fredie and friends as a caretaker, hopefully a few ex players would step forward and offer Fredie any help they could on the training field and bring a posivtive atmosphere back just until the right candidate can be found.
The longer Emery continues the more negative the whole thing gets from fans players and the more chance the media get to do they're worst and create as much of a toxic feel about the club they can muster.
When has the British press not milked every situation for its own end and invented stories to inflame unrest given half a chance?

Would anyone do any worse than Emery, don’t think so.
Allegri would be a decent choice imo.
We can’t beat mid table teams comfortably these days Which very worrying to achieve top 4 and CL.
Are we going to count on the EL again?
The quicker emery’s out the better, however board and players will still say they’re behind him just not to make it any worst but he lost it since he started the whole ozil scenario.

Yes, many choices. Including Mourinho. Emery is not a good manager but he is hardly the worst out there either. We could sabotage not just this season but multiple seasons in a row if we pick Mou.
