Does any Ed know if the arsenal board are starting to get worried over Unai Emery?

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea but I doubt it.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Far too early IMO, we are only a handful of games in, finish 7th and we might be in business.

My concern is that Emery is losing the fans and the dressing room. I feel that those above him at the club have invested heavily in securing CL football and will act swiftly if the club look like missing out on it.
Going towards the January window I am beginning to think that a change may be sensible. I am not sure we should read anything into Mourinho being at the club to watch the Vitoria match, but being with Sanllehi may be telling.

Well that’s surprising Ed, especially with the amount of money we spent as the board expected us to get back in the CL which was the risk.

{Ed002's Note - They have given him what he wanted and spent money that was put aside for the future. They will not be wanting to do taht again. And who could step in and replace him?}

A caretaker manager is in my opinion the best way forward, someone who would welcome a 28 game opportunity to show what he can do with absolutely no obligation either way after game 38.
We don't want to repeat what United did with Ole and make a rushed decision based on a few good results band potential candidates don't feel they can achieve top 4 with our current squad then obviously they are not right for us or us for them.
I genuinely believe our current squad is good enough for top 4 it's just needs someone to come in and organise motivate and get them playing as a team.
There are no guarantees no matter who comes in but obviously carrying on with what so obviously isn't working and is actually getting worse the longer it goes on seems like madness to me.

Well I remember you previously saying that arsenal will not appoint a “big-name manager” and are more likely to appoint an up and coming manager, so my suggestion which seems the most “arsenal-like” thing to do is appoint Freddie ljungberg as manager. You can tell me if i am talking a load of rubbish Ed mate.

{Ed002's Note - I doubt I suggested FL.}

28 Oct 2019 12:06:00
Ohh no you didn’t suggest him, I’m suggesting him myself based on arsenal not wanting to get the “big-name” manager which fans always want.

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal has a manager so will not be looking to replace him until that changes.}

28 Oct 2019 12:31:15
Thanks Ed, I don’t like seeing anyone lose their job but this guy should not be the manager. another big mistake by the arsenal.

{Ed002's Note - As I told you at the time.}

Yes both Ed002 and Ed001 warned us at the time that Emery was a huge gamble and unlikely to pay off, personally I chose not to look at him and his past career to closely and Just get 100% behind him and hope for the Eds were wrong and for improvement on what Arsene could achieve with the team in his latter years, oooops buyers remorse I think they call it, hey ho lessons keep coming even at my age :-)

{Ed025's Note - caveat emptor..

28 Oct 2019 17:46:18
Yeah well done for calling that Ed. I doubted you if I'm honest but home my hands up and admit you was right.

28 Oct 2019 18:47:22
Yes 100% Ed025 mate :-) , takes me back to the first van I ever bought, cost me 3 times what I paid for it in welding to get it through its NOT then when I finally got to pick it up from the garage it caught fire on the way home :-)
People did warn me not to buy it but I needed a van desperately and didn't listen :- (.

{Ed025's Note - i think we have all done something similar G62 mate..

28 Oct 2019 19:23:31
Definitely mate sometimes we all see things for what we want them to be because we don't want to consider the alternative.

{Ed025's Note - your dead right mate..
