Don't know if anyone has seen what happened today but I suggest you see what happened with granit xhaka today and his reaction to getting subbed. It's time for him to leave.

{Ed047's Note - not a happy bunny, saying what clearly looked like F off at the crowd. Took his shirt off and straight down the tunnel.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good riddance hopefully hit the nail in his own coffin by the sounds of it.

The booing isn’t good, but his reaction was very disrespectful. Cupping his ear, shouting “F-off’, ” and then screwing up the shirt and storming down the tunnel.
It’s not his fault he isn’t good enough, it’s not his fault he got the armband and keeps getting picked, but he’s paid a small fortune to play a game, and he’s supposed to be the captain. His behavior was disgraceful.

100% he starts next game.

Under Emery? He’ll probably get a new contract!

27 Oct 2019 18:50:29
He’s done himself no favours with the crowd, I’d fine him.

And a big fine at that. Dick threw him to the wolves though. Hopefully this is the turning point and the board step in.

I do have some Sympathy for Xhaka on a human level, it's much like in kids football where one of the dads is the team manager, his boy just isn't good enough and all other parents can see it but the dad/ manager just won't have it and keeps sending his lad out to be moaned at week after week, eventually after more and more poor performances and results some of the other parents lose it and turn on the lad personally, the publicly ridiculed lad reacts by fighting back by pretending to not be bothered but obviously has had enough too.

No Xhaka is not a child but he's still a human being who is put into an impossible situation week after week and being asked to do what he simply isn't capable of doing and eventually both players and supporters snap, professionally Xhaka is wrong but it's 100% Emery that has caused this whole avoidable situation.

Xhaka's behaviour was obviously all wrong but keep in mind:
- Emery is the one who keeps picking him
- Emery is the one who leaves him exposed at the base of midfield with no Torreira/ Luiz/ Chambers to cover and partner him

Watch Xhaka for Switzerland, he's a different animal. Plays further up, gets way more support, and operates more advanced.

Emery is the one at fault here IMO.

{Ed047's Note - I’ve watched Xhaka a few times for Switzerland and haven’t seen anything different to be honest, I’ve really know idea what he brings to the party.

Add that to hearing that our true DM Torriera is struggling to adapt with Emery’s want for him to play further forward really makes you wonder.

I too have watched Xhaka for Switzerland in the hope of seeing something I miss when playing for Arsenal but genuinely see nothing in his performances thar says premier league standard even when playing for his country.
I agree yesterday is 100% down to Emerys miss management, to continue to play a player that none but a handful of people can see any value in playing and with the team failing to put produce one decent premier league performance yet this season and now dropping points unexpectedly it was obvious something was going to give.
Xhaka knew once his number came uo what was coming and he also knew his friends and family were going to witness him get publicly ridiculed yet again and reacted totally unprofessionally which only inflamed the fans even more, but he is only human and is repeatedly put in a situation he simply just isn't capable of winning by a manager who refuses to be wrong.
Strangely yesterday will work in everyone's favour, Xhaka will be dropped and performances will improve Emery will hang onto his job a little longer and Xhaka will look to start afresh somewhere new next session.
