Yesterday confirmed that the club are making correct decisions in the post-Wenger/ Gazidis era. Watching the Everton match it seems incredible that we managed to get over £50m for Iwobi and Walcott, whilst the decision not to renew Wilshere's contract also proved a masterstoke as he is a shadow of the player we thought he'd be. Watching the highlights of the Toot v Watford, it confirmed the decision not to extend Welbeck's deal was spot on. He went off yet again injured after a few minutes and has played 4 matches this season with not a single goal.
Looking forward to tomorrow night's game v Sheff U, a win would be excellent, but I have a feeling it will not be an easy match.

Not being funny but it didn't take a genius to know those players needed to go, it was only ever Arsenes misplaced loyalty that kept them all together so long.
I've read a lot of people tipping us for a comfortable 3pts tomorrow night and hopefully they will be right but I must admit I personally am struggling to see why tomorrow's game will suddenly be a walk in the park based on anything we seen this season yet in the premier league from our team.
Hopefully I've completely missed something and the Sheffield United game really will see us start being good to watch again.

Hindsight is a great thing, but the courage to take decisions that were not taken under the previous set up is refreshing. The squad is looking strong and lean, with the exception of a couple of players that are clearly surplus to requirements, but are difficult to move on.

Hindsight is only useful in helping us avoid repeating the sane mistakes, obviously Arsene got way to close to his players which clouded his judgement and eventually brought about his downfall.
It's nice if people like thier boss but not essential but what is essential is that they respect and trust the boss and the decisions he makes.
If a manager makes strange decisions that come off people respect his methods and wisdom but if a manager keeps getting it wrong players soon lose confidence in him and start questioning his methods and decisions at which point the writing is almost always on the wall for that manager at that club.

I’m pretty sure we got nothing for Rambo or Welbeck 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Pretty sure we let Nacho go with no left back cover and we sold a perfectly good centre midfield. Same mistake we did last year with centre backs

I would say we are still learning but some seem desperate to find positives without looking at the full picture I would say spending 72m on a winger and 8m on a Chelsea reject is also not learning.

But at least we made the very simple decisions that were glaringly obvious to everyone. Personally I would rather they signed a CDM and. Decent CD - addressing our main problems. Wasn’t that the main issue of the past. We’re still letting quality stars leave for peanuts

We need to tie some players down also as we have a number of contracts running down.

{Ed047's Note - the courage to make decisions is employing the best defensive coach you can when you need one.

Not being afraid to drop Xhaka.

Not having 5 captains.

Making the decisions that get the best from your most skilful player.

Seeing your faults and working to iron them out.

Not the painfully obvious stuff pointed out 🙄

Very true - from the list, what were the difficult decisions;

Cohen Bramall 🤷‍♂️
Petr Cech 🤷‍♂️
Charlie Gilmour 🤷‍♂️
Stephan Lichtsteiner - should never have signed him
Julio Pleguezuelo 🤷‍♂️
Aaron Ramsey - screwed that up
Danny Welbeck - no money 🤷‍♂️

None of those were hard decisions - Pretty obvious except that we got nothing for the last two. So we screwed up the most important two decisions!

I need to find my rose tinted specs as it’s more fun with them on. I’d tried to forget about the Captain mess and Emery”s complete lack of tactical awareness, defensive ignorance and crap man management., now Malaga or Steve will call me negative. you opened the box!

Hopefully the board now have found their balls and will make the right tough decisions throughout the club - just like any other business would if their coach can’t coach or a manager can’t address issues in the team etc.

{Ed047's Note - Sorry SY didn’t mean to set the boys on you! 🤷‍♂️😂

I am liking the new decisiveness at board level though.

Totally agree Ed047, doing the obvious isn't exactly a reason to declare someone brilliant and niether is ignoring what obviously isn't working.
Be as bizarre as you like as long as your bizarre decisions pay off, but if you repeatedly do strange things that don't pay off then it's only natural that people will question Your ability and suitability to be making those decisions.

We did get another left back in Tierney and have Kolašinac as cover.
