Very good win for the youngsters and returnees. Do we have a future super star in Martinelli? Tierney looking like our long term left back. This is a great competition to blood youngsters like we did willock and Gouendouzi last season.

Our young players look better than I can ever remember seeing them before, after so many false dawns of the P word this crop look absolute quality and very importantly that look hungry apposed to patient.
In my usual ( negative or honest, depends on how you take it) opinion it's a worry all our exciting young players are attacking all players rather than defenders or defensive midfielders that we are crying out for, and have been for more than a decade.
On Guendouzi, he is 100% the real deal and we are so lucky time have him and absolutely must not lose him in the next 5 years minimum.

Agree gunner and ed, i think there is a crop of youngsters in the squad who should kick on and at least be first team squad members or first choice for us, for the next few seasons. Its good to see young players actually being confident and really pushing for a place.
{Ed047's Note - definitely steve, how good the finally become is down to them ultimately and Freddie seems like he has their feet firmly on the ground.

Would have loved to see these guys turn out against Man U. Martinelli over Pepe, Saka to keep his place, Willock over Xhaka, Holding over Luiz. Give Tierney and Bellerin a bit more time to bed in and we're going to look a lot better soon.

Freddie and Per have and are doing a great job with the youngsters. It was a master stroke to appoint Freddie as a first team coach and give him the role of integrating the young players into the first team squad. The signing of younger players in the post Gazidis/ Wenger era makes complete sense, with the likes of Tierney, Martinelli, Torreira, Pepe, Guendouzi and Saliba who arrives next season. In addition Nketiah is gaining valuable playing time at Leeds and arrives back next season.
Last night’s defence, with Saliba replacing Mustafi could be the unit for the future. Whilst Martinelli and Saka have enormous potential. Well done to Emery for a brave and intelligent selection, giving the first team a rest before we play Bournemouth on Sunday. A win could elevate us into 3rd place.
