I think he can mate its just getting the players in.

1 week to kick off and 4 days to make sure we're the best we possibly can be both in terms of players available and that the players we do have are as well organised and motivated as they possibly can be.
Next Sunday we will see Emerys Arsenal 100% for the very first time, no more excuses, everything is now 100% Emerys doing be it brilliant or woeful all the credit and the buck stop at his door totally now.

05 Aug 2019 09:19:42
Come on mate all Emerys doing he's a head coach not a manager as you seen Poch come and say the same thing recently he doesn't buy players, he coaches them and let's be honest who has he really brought in?

The club knew has always been an issue the whole world knows so If they are not adjusting that how is that the managers fault, This predates him, Ofcourse he is going to be judged, however he shouldn't be handicapped going into the new season.

G62 - Emery has had one season to start repairing the damage done over a decade. He has 4 players from last season brought in and so far he has two senior players brought in this window, plus young Martinelli and Saliba next season. The rest of the squad were inherited and many need to be shipped out. He needs a couple more seasons to shape the team his way.

05 Aug 2019 11:15:02
RG do you honestly think Emery will survive the entire season ahead if he continues to poorly or organise train and motivate our defence?
I certainly don't, i think if we continue to get totally exposed at the back by every team in every game this season as last season Fredie will be caretaker manager by April.
He doesn't have 2 or 3 more years like last season mate.
People will expect progress, fans media board alike.

05 Aug 2019 17:15:25
He needs another 2-3 seasons? No way RG are you really happy to see the same rubbish we witnessed last season. As 62 said if we carry on to be so easy and exposed at the back he won’t have another shot next year.

05 Aug 2019 17:17:33
But RG, I seriously hope that g62 and me and everyone thinking like us are wrong and you are right and I hope Emery get right and prove us wrong.

05 Aug 2019 19:28:24
I hope he proves us wrong too Moe very very much so.
If we restrict Newcastle to just a couple of good chances Sunday night Burnley the same the week after then and Liverpool and Spurs to Just a handle full each then I will very gladly start changing my mind and posts about Emerys.
I really want him to succeed but I just don't believe it's possible to be competitive while not treating your defence as a hugely important part of your team.
Beating both Newcastle and Burnley 5 3 would terrify me about going to Anfield while beating them both anything 0 while never losing control of either the game would make going to Anfield a much less frightening task.

I don’t believe anyone wants him to fail as that means we fail

He had a pretty poor season last years despite the squad improvements and he’s had two preseasons plus a season to understand we have defending issues. He’s the coach - he needs to coach. If he can’t then we change coaches.

No more excuses - players not available? That’s BS as I’m sure he could have spent 70m on a CB if it was important but instead we sign forwards.

Injuries - every team has them

They were useless before - that’s why we changed managers and brought you in buddy! If you aren’t up to the job, then go. They are professionals and I am sure they can defend

Midfield exposes defence - it’s your midfield.

There are no excuses as far as I’m concerned - he’s had time and money. Now it’s showtime!

Again - want him to succeed, seen nothing except blind faith to suggest he can organise a team but here goes.

Don’t lower the bar to let him crawl over it - keep our standards high

COYG.

Agree with that SY mate, most of us made excuses for Arsene to begin with but little by little the excuses for our best ever manager simply ran out, we certainly shouldn't be recycling those same excuses for his replacement or its a complete and utter waste of time effort and money bothering anymore.
I always knew we might not get replacing Arsene right first time round and if that proves the way of it we shouldn't kid ourselves for years, no noticeable improvement by January then try again, but on the other hand if we suddenly look like an organised disciplined out fit then back the man to the hilt.

Wow! Such a group of haters. Neither Klopp or Pep got their first season great. The club obviously want to improve the whole team. However you don’t shop quality players At Costco in bulk (or M&S) . We were one point away from CL last season. I believe Pepe can help us there. If you see the stats on how reliable we were on laca and Aubameyang last season it make sense to bring in more quality up front as well.
