What is the logic behind Emery's policy of naming 5 captains?

His favourite number is 5! which is why he likes to aim for 5 3 wins and made sure his first signing was Suarez on a 5 month loan why he did nothing to sort out our defensive weaknesses during last seasons run in order to make sure we finished 5th rather than 4th which would have messed with his high five philosophy.

Not necessarily aimed at your post Arg my man. Just in general. Getting very tired of seeing all the crap he gets when he's been there 1 season, with a team that was absolutely shocking at the back to begin with. I agree that he's not really brought any improvement in respect of our defence but with Holding and Bellerin they were looking much stronger for the 1st 15/ 16 games. They had their moments but it was better. People can be pro-wenger all they like but he wasn't up to the job anymore simple as that! Emery needs a little time and Saliba and Tierney are quality signings (if they happen) . Yes he's being loaned back but he's 18 and is one of the most promising talents coming out of the French youth at present. Its a good move, let's see how it goes.

I actually don't mind the bloke I simply struggle with his methods and ideas but genuinely hope to eat humble pie as he turns us round and Bach into a credible force again.
I'd much rather be wrong about him.

{Ed047's Note - I was checking out the club page and it had a video titled defensive training drills, I thought wow he’s actually doing some defensive training and clicked on the vid thinking they’d be drilling them as a unit.

To be fair, they have to jump over Mustafi on the floor and then sprint to cover him. I see the method.

Sounds like agility lessons Ed047, maybe Emery has hired someone from the canine defences league to help out :-)
He's really got to improve his understanding and expression of the English language before our defenders are forced to all wear stockings in an attempt to keep it tight at the back in big games:-)

Excellent idea Ed047 mate but don't let Emery make the phone call or we will end up with Barbara Windsor and what a carry on that would be:-)
Mind you with Babs Windsor we'd be both very impressive up top and none to shabby at the back either :-)

Ed mate with all the vid the club posts, I never see any defensive training. Or maybe they don’t want us to see it ;) .
Glen mate, that his second season so that's his second chance to get his players, sort out his defence and get tactics right. He want to be involved in the transfer so let's see what will happen. I just hope he doesn’t pull another D Suarez.
{Ed047's Note - me neither Moe that’s why I was so interested so see what it was they were doing but zero looked to have anything to do with defensive training which was so disappointing.

If we had Barbara Windsor then we’d definitely have two power strikers up front and a strong rear guard 😉.
