In quick succession Josh Kroenke and Unai Emery have said we are being going for some big signings Emery comes out and says 3 or 4 players to improve the team, Tierney at LB, either Zaha or Soares taking that winger position, Saliba at CB (but potentially loaned back for the season) meaning in theory one more player to come in. Ceballos maybe? Or are they going to pop someone up who we haven't even heard any rumours about yet. Just trying to keep the fans off their backs or some genuine intention from the club.

If it's a blagg it's a silly blagg that will come back to bite them.
They had everyone accepting about our immediate future wasn't bright so to simply drum up positive vibes only to know they will lead to frustration and anger rather than negative acceptance would be extremely naive and stupid of them.

Might be reading too much into this but emery's comments will help him if no "big" signings come in. Has he created a cushion to soften the blow. I think he's added more pressure on raul and the gang. Be interested to here your opinions.

I've just read Emerys comments and the " We are planing to sign some Very Very Expensive players " quote sounds like an absolute 100% blagg to me, sorry but why would you say that?
You might say " we are prepared to spend the market value on players we want " or something similar but " Very Very Expensive players " sounds like an empty soundbite a polition would use when trying to win public opinion.

I think its his english mate, I don’t think he can phrase his comments properly. So he might be into something or we will soon know if he’s bulling us. I’m for one waiting on the excuses they are going to come up with.

You could be right Moe, perhaps it is just his way of expressing himself, " very big very expensive" just sounds ever so much like someone saying something for effect.
Is Tierney a very big player and is 25 million very expensive or is he talking about Zaha and 70 million or bigger and even more expensive players still.
