Kos has been a fantastic player for us and loyal at a cost to his own personal ambitions that he could have realised elsewhere had he put himself rather than the club first.
He's never been a top earner at Arsenal but has remained a fantastic professional, what's happend to suddenly cause such a dramatic change in character?

Hi 62, I don't really get all the angst directed towards Kos tbh. I think he's served us well for 9 years now overturning greener pastures while not collecting major trophies or the grand paychecks that the likes of Walcott/ other players in our squad were getting. The Non qualification to CL and our not being able to dip in the market for a reliable CB who can get going should be the last straw and I would be happy to let him amicably leave if he wants to. At 33 yold, he might only fetch us 3mil at max. Why not just give him the legendary send off he deserves for the service he's done to us?

Couldn't agree more 90 mate, I don't know why the sudden change of heart by Kos but if any player in the last 10 years has earned some respect and understanding it's surely Kos in my opinion.
Maybe he just can't face yet another season of being part of a defence that regularly gets ripped to shreds by both oppents and pundits, let's face it he's known as few.

It's a real shame he's done this because I'm pretty sure most fans would wish him well and give him a good send off if he just said he wanted to retire in France, but the way he's handled it leaves a bad taste and will sadly tarnish his memory, he would of been remembered fondly by most, now he's made a villain of himself.

62 - I like Kos but he wasn’t good enough to get into Utd, City or Chelsea teams while they collected medals. He’s just not a top notch CB. He’s good but not that good.

He was good enough for France, SY mate and Bayern were pretty keen too but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it's all personal opinion of course.
Not sure what it says about our previous manager that if our stand out defender of the last 7 years hasn't been good enough to get into the City Chelsea or United teams, what ever have the rest of the players he brought to the club been like then?
