Frank Lampard becomes Chelsea manager, is it a mistake for any player who has become a true club legend to return as a manager?
Frank seems to have matured into a really decent person and he did ok at Derby but given Chelseas extremely quick turnover in managers has he made a mistake in accepting the Chelsea job where his chances of lasting 3 seasons are extremely slim?

I must admit I do get distracted by other tnings sometimes mate, life family the world around me and a general interest in lots of things besides Arsenal I fear will always prevent me from ever being a fully signed up card carrying goonerbot:-)

Going back to your post though, i think he will struggle. Aging squad, i don't think the youth are ready for league yet. And they have just lost the player who has carried them for the past 6/ 7 years. I think he should of turned it down, poor time to take it, but would he ever of got a better chance as nobody wanted it. We all see how poor our squad is, wait to see Chelsea’s at the start of the season, it will look worse than ours. I just hope he gets time, as the chelsea board like a re shuffle.

I agree mate, it's a strange one because it's only natural he would want to manage the club where he became a true legend but at the sane time it does seem it's only a matter of when not if they sack him which has to sour his feelings towards the club to some degree.
It does seem at Chelsea boredom with mangers rather than lack of success sees them driven out.
