Man City and Spuds both breaking club transfer records today while we're running around like headless chickens. Mood among the fans is fragile at best at the moment, feel like the club need to show us something other than a reto kit release to get fans back on board.

What you mean spend what we simply don't have and totally ignore and refuse to play by uafa FFP rules Jack? Sounds resealable mate :-)

By my math (which isn’t always good) , we spend £52M annually on lousy salaries. Let’s get that under control.

That's got to be the key to turning the club round Alex and the place where we start.
Emery doesn't want Mesut and he's 18 million a year, we've no chance of selling him because of his wages but we could probably give him away if we agreed to pay half his wages also saving us 9 million a year which would allow us to pay 7 new players young up and coming players 25k a week some of which if we buy well might have a resale value in the future.
I like Mesut but he's wasting his career at Arsenal and we are wasting a huge chunk of our salary budget on a player our manager doesn't want.
To carry on as we are just seems crazy so cutting our losses looks the sensible option.

{Ed002's Note - It really doesn't work like that. Maybe it would be best to ignore the finances.}

I think we have more than 45 a club like arsenal didn’t just turn over that in a year.

G62- perhaps my original post didn't properly communicate what I'd like to see from the club so let me try to elaborate a little. Like most fans, I have a very limited understanding of club finances and FFP however I can appreciate that right now Arsenal as a club are not in a financial position to compete with the top clubs for signings such as the ones made yesterday by City and Spuds. What I meant when calling for the club to show us something didn't necessarily refer to a big name signing. I'm sure many fans myself included would be more than happy to see the club invest in youth and give opportunities to our young academy players, just seeing a sign of a long term vision rather than the unrealistic and embarrassing bids we have seen so far for Zaha and Tierney. I hope this explanation makes my original post a little more 'resealable' to you mate ;-)

Yes Jack that sounds much more resealable to me mate :-)
Like you say mate none of us really know what's going on and although we all like to share opinions and views ultimately none of us will know anything for sure until either players arrive or the window closeness, I think that's a resealable way of looking at thongs:-)
