Bit of negativity about - would still bet we finish above West Ham! Let’s not forget even with our away form we were only two points off third in a transition season ! Million miles away from city and Pool! If we spent £45 mill on defence plus any sales eg Kolasinac and did break bank for Zaha I for one would be very very happy! Chelsea under Lampard ( and Hazard) will struggle as will United OGS gone by Christmas 🎄. Logic says buy now to strengthen while others weaken . Not sure over the pond will though . Two questions will £45 mill plus zaha lift the gloom and Ed002 would those figures say £45 mill plus £80 mill put Arsenal in trouble with FFP? COYG.

{Ed002's Note - I don’t understand the question - where are these figures coming from?}

Agree0 Disagree1

I am taking the £45 mill constantly touted as to what we have to spend and a guesstimating of Zaha fee. Really just wanting to know would we be able to spend £125 mill and be within FFP? Admittedly vague but fully expecting ‘ step back from money ‘ but interested whether we could legally spend that amount as Regards FFP COYG.

{Ed002's Note - It makes no sense. If Arsenal have £45M where does the £80M come from?}

I’m hanging on to either player sales or Kroenke puts his hand in his pocket! It’s all speculation but . COYG.

I agree Sussex why all the gloom?
Apart from the fact we've never been in such a financial mess before in our history and we seem in total chaos behind the scenes regarding who's doing what and our new manager doesn't seem to have any more idea how to organise us any better than our last manager had plus our squad looks well short of quality in nearly every department what's not to be excited about:-)

{Ed002's Note - Just to be clear, the owner cannot simply throw 80M in to the mix.}

01 Jul 2019 12:47:18
I'm sure Ed02 said they can invest up to 40 mill in a 3 year period if I'm not mistaken.

01 Jul 2019 12:53:01
No I remember you telling us about this ages ago Ed002 so I never mention Stan or his money, I did read that our new sponsors are paying 300 million over 5 years and if that figure is correct that's 60 million a year so hopefully some of of not all that 60 million might be put forward for transfers.
Obviously we have other financial issues besides transfers to sort out like wages and contracts of players we would like to part company with but are finding it difficult to do so plus somehow try and sort out our behind the scenes staff that 12 months ago seemed spot on but now seems like a daytime soap opera with a bizarre script.

Whatever you do G62 don’t drive down to my neck of the woods there’s Beachy Head nearby . Half full I’m afraid! COYG.

Good for you Sussex mate :-) I genuinely hope your reminding me of how gloomy I was next May when we've just qualified for the champions league and conceded our fewest goals in a decade.
I'd much rather you be right than me mate but I can't lie to myself and say I see a good season ahead when I can't genuinely see how it might happen.
When we have to rely on United being as bad next season as they were last and Chelsea being even worse than they were last season in order to have a chance of 4th place no one can tell me that's an Arsenal in good shape, no matter how full their glass is or what it's half full of :-)

Ed can correct me if I'm mistaken, but with FFP rules in place, you cannot make an operating loss of more than a certain amount over 3 or 5 years.

Similar regulations surround making massive increases to the wage bill without player sales to help balance the books.

In short, Kroenke cannot help us. The club was self sustaining when he bought into the club, and that is not going to change.

All the hot water about a lazy owner need to direct their efforts towards seeing how we have been financially shackled from the last regime.

This will take time to fix, but we can't throw money at the problem.

We generate enough money as a business entity to compete once our revenue's are spent wisely and our assets are cashed in on before their useful is expired and leave for free, which results in massive losses for us.

{Ed002's Note - It is a rolling three year period.}

G62 when you’ve been through the early eighties the Terry Neill year’s my whole life is half full 😂😂 just would rather start at least from a positive view is all! Sounds from other posts re Kroenke etc we are in real transition so we made our bed let’s lie in it! It Is what it is and will take time . Life is too short and if me being negative helps then I would be but it won’t so I won’t! All good though different opinions COYG ( or not ) 😂.

If you can't generate more income to improve your financial situation the only way is to cut what you are paying out already.
It's going to take time for us to get back in a good position financially and it has to start with getting people off our wage bill who we are paying far too much money to for what they provide in return and that list is a very long one.
The more you think about it the more promoting from within and young bargin buys look the way forward even if it means dropping out of Europe altogether for a while.

Fair comment Sussex mate, I just voice my own views and don't wish to change anyone else's and certainly don't want to neg anyone else out, if anyone feels positive about our immediate future then I take my hat off to them.
I accept where we are as club and all that comes with that but I do struggle to watch us keep playing the same old way and fail to adapt our style to make the most of what we do have and cope with what we don't have in order to be the best we can be at this present time.

Why does the family sponsor the Match ball for £100m via a related third party. cheating never prospers. Ooh wait, didn’t this already happen elsewhere 😂😂.

01 Jul 2019 20:37:08
:-) SY
City's record signing? Mahrez 60 million, just over half the price of a match ball :-)
