Interesting tweet from David Ornstein:
Arsenal remain in talks with Celtic for Tierney and St Etienne for Saliba. Zaha has a desire to leave Palace and favours a move to Arsenal. Funds will be an issue and Palace are unlikely to listen to offers due to the imminent departure of Wan Bisaaka to Man Utd. Palace will ask for a fee in excess of 80m. The most realistic way of financing a deal would be cash in on Aubameyang or Torreira, although the club have no intention of selling. Will be discussed in more detail on 5livesport from 8pm this evening.

Zaha isn't worth it anywhere past 40m. If we were any of the others in the top 6 (bar Spurs) it would be fine (and I'd actually trust Pep/ Klopp/ Pochettino to get the best out of them) , but there has to be better value out there. I'm more excited by the possibility of seeing Nelson and a younger, highly rated player like Brooks, Neres, etc.

Saliba would obviously be for the future as a deal would involve him staying put for another year which wouldn't be a problem if our needed wasn't so urgent but unfortunately it is.
Zaha is totally class for Palace, is 40 million really a lot of money in today's game or is it just a lot of money for us in our current financial position?
Tierney will probably happen at 25 million which is half our reported budget but obviously there are salsas fees to bolster that figure once things start moving.
Whoever we do or don't sign we need to be much much better as an entire unit next season by being more organised and disciplined or all the signings in the world won't make things any better than last season or any other recent seasons.

Gunner mate palace want 80m for Zaha and I can see why with Manchester United getting 25% of the fee! Regardless of whether he wants to move or not, I really can't see it happening. Saliba and Tierney use up our budget alone with a box to box and a winger still to find. Martinelli is also a 6m deal apparently so that's more of the budget for another player for the future. Tierney could well be our only signing for next season 😳.

Still can't help but wonder which European outfit would pay 70 million plus for Pea, in today's market he's obviously worth that but only if someone has both the funds and desire to get him and I'm struggling to think of any genuinely likely club that has both the money and desire to buy him.
China looks the only likely destination that fits both requirements and I'm not sure Pea is ready for emerging football as apposed to top level European football yet.

Totally agree mate. I can't see us selling him or Torreira to be honest. If we were hoping to raise funds it would come from Mkhi and Ozil and again, who wants them on the wages they're on. It's a shame though that a player like Zaha who according to Ornstein wants to come to Arsenal, won't be able to. Premier league ready, quick, tricky and scores goals. Can't write it off though, just have to see how it plays out.

I think Wilf would be a big hit with us Glen mate, works hard is full of tricks and scores important goals.
I'm not sure how but somehow i think both Zaha and Tierney will happen this summer plus maybe a couple of others, I have absolutely nothing to base my feelings on other than my own gut feeling, maybe some kind of players exchange plus cash could make it possible.
Chambers might be one possible bargaining chip but obviously wouldn't make a huge dent and we might just have to let a player like Nelson or Maitland Miles move the other way in order to get Zaha which would obviously be disappointing and upset quite a few our fans but Wilf is premier proven over several seasons and sometimes you've got to lose some battles to win wars.
Ideally Palace would take Xhaka and Mustafi for Zaha but something tells me Palace won't be trying to do what suits us and will want a deal that is good for them too, they've always been a bit like that south of the water :-)

Yes mate, I think he would too. He's got everything we lack in attack as far as direct, pacey and tricky wingers are concerned. Using players may well be an option too but like you say, they won't help that much. I hope you're gut is right bud, I really do. Zaha, Tierney, Saliba and Nkunku is a darn good summer window.

It would certainly raise interest and excitement levels again Glen mate.
