So the title is going down to the last day no matter what the city result Monday, so fitting too.
What a title race it's been, yes there have been others that have gone to the last day but never a season where two teams have reached and maintained such a high standard throughout the season.
It's ridiculous that Liverpool are quite likely going to go the entire season only being beaten once yet still not being champions and if that does happen how fitting that the only side that has beaten them should be the champions themselves.
Wonderful title race and absolutely ridiculously high standard.

Nothing will ever match the 1989 title win at Anfield though, going down to the last game never mind the last day with the top two meeting and the away team having to win 2-0 and achieving it in the last minute of the season, it’s by far my best night as an Arsenal fan . I got back at silly o’clock the next morning

What a night.

Fantastic end to the season, going right to the wire.
Massive match today for us, a win will give us confidence going to Valencia and hopefully still leave us with a chance of finishing in the top four.
Whatever happens Emery has improved on last season, with more league points and going into the 2nd leg of the EL semi with a 2 goal lead.

05 May 2019 07:41:00
It's funny you should say that RG because I was thinking yesterday how Arsene must wish he'd hung on 1 more season after seeing how low the top 4 bar is this season.
He may well have still not been able to clear this seasons bar but in all Arsenes time with us i don't think I don't think the consistency level was ever so poor amongst the champions league hopefuls.
I personally don't think we'd have done any better under Arsene but I'm not at all sure we would have done any worse either.

I agree 62 Wengers record against our closest rivals was getting worse by the year, Dick has certainly changed that this season, but in saying that we concede 9 in 3 to the likes of Palace, Wolves and Leicester ( bangs head against the wall)

05 May 2019 10:45:20
We are 28 points behind the leaders and we finished 27 points in Wengers worst ever season. Kinda sums up Emery’s start and success this year. The fact others have gotten worse should not detract from the true yardstick which is competing with the big boys not the almost

Keep your standards and expectations high or we will be the next Kodac and will never compete again.

05 May 2019 11:17:30
We won’t compete again until the mindset of the yank changes.

05 May 2019 14:14:17
Its just puzzling the ambition some of our fans these days, those little extra points we got is counted as improvement, where we actually drifted even further from the top 2. And we actually very lucky to be still in it for the top 4. It also makes me wonder what are there expectations for next season? Another fight to get in the top 4?

05 May 2019 14:57:49
Minor differences both for and against respectively between Arsenes last season and Dicks first season but in the reality of it all its pretty much as it was and has been for a while now.
It's plainly obvious that this year's level of the top 2 is higher than at any point while it's also clear to see that the standard required to make top 3 let alone top 4 is at its poorest for a very very long time.
Stats can be used in an attempt to try and convince people not to beleive or trust what they see for themselves with their own eyes but it's only those who want to be fooled that really take more notice of stats than reality.

Thinking about it now I’ve seen NO improvement, our extra points have come from Chelsea, Spuds and Man U who let’s be honest are as bad as us, look how easy it’s proven to beat Spuds this year .

In saying this I still give Dick some time, he had zero time in the Summer window as it was a WC year . then again he doesn’t choose who we buy so now I’m thinking who does get the blame if we are pants .

What an interesting 12 months we have.

05 May 2019 15:52:32
I think we have to give him the first half of next season absolute minimum, why? I'm not sure if it's just to make absolutely certain he's not up to the job before we part company or out of kindness but it most certainly isn't based on any kind of logic I've seen from his methods so far, in fact logic tells me it's another season wasted by letting him carry on but hope says maybe not.

I'm astounded at the negativity shown in the above comments. With Man U amazingly drawing with Huddersfield, the race for the remaining two top four spots is down to three clubs. If we win this afternoon, in all likelyhood we will finish at least one place higher than last season, with more points and go into the 2nd leg of the EL semi two up, having beaten the second best team in Italy, Napoli, in the Quarter Finals.
Emery was left a mess by Gazidis and Wenger. A poor squad, a team on the decline and has improved things despite being financially hindered.
If we win this afternoon, all three clubs in top four contenation have the difficulty of negotiating midweek European football and very tricky final PL matches. Chelsea go to Leicester who have improved under Rodgers and will not be a soft touch. The Toot look shattered, have injuries and suspensions to contend with. Everton have hit a decent run of form and will also be a difficult proposition, particularly without Son and possibly Kane as well. We have a tough, but not impossible task at Burnley. Perhaps if we win today and manage to reach the EL final, our confidence will be high. In respect of the league, don't forget we have more points than last season and have overtaken Man U and closed the gap on the Toot. After two consecutive seasons of failure to qualify for the CL under Wenger, would I have accepted where we currently are? Yes, of course I would. We need to get behind Emery and the team in such an important week, not make inane criticisms after only one season. Klopp has had 3 seasons and Pochettino 5 seasons, both could end up trophyless yet again. Final thought, does anyone seriously believe Wenger would have stopped the decline we had witnessed at the club?

{Ed025's Note - good post that robbie mate..

In answer to you question RG absolutely not but unfortunately I've seen absolutely nothing from Emery to convince me he is any more capable than Arsene.
So if you were merely fed up with Arsene then this season has been a huge success but if you were fed up with how we rolled over like puppies and had our bellies tickled then it's only the puppy walker that's changed not the puppies nature.
Most of us wanted to change what was so obviously wrong with our team not simply a change of management and on that score this season has been a huge disappointment just like the last 5 or 6 seasons have been.
Arsene Dick or Darsene it seems the difference is all in the name only.

Opinions are like onions and every one thinks their one is about 3.14 better than everyone else’s.

05 May 2019 17:33:50
Thanks Ed025, appreciated at last!

{Ed025's Note - your very welcome mate..

05 May 2019 18:06:29
That's the problem SY everyone thinking they're opinion is right, we why can't we just agree mine is the best and stop arguing:-) ,

05 May 2019 21:04:11
Not being able to win your last home game against a team with nothing to play for while you are competing and leaving us no better behind Wengers worst ever season in charge - let’s cekebrste 🎉🍾🎉🎉🎉🍾🍾. Well done Em🤡Ry best season ever and you have improved us so much. Our defensive issues are behind us 🎉🚖👏👏.

06 May 2019 02:20:44
