yesterdays result was way better than expected and preformance was also very good, in the last 6-7 years we have pulled off this type of result when not expected to, but then we would go on a none winning streak for like 6-7 games, usually losing to a team in the bottom 3 or close to it, so let's see how the next few games are to see if the players are actually learning.

tonights match reveals, we still don't have a noticable style of play, torriera is a great player, lickkenstiner, is better than bellerin, soktatis is a proper defender, monreal is well monreal, and abua is going to score a bucket load of goals when given space, and iwobi is slightly better than just okay ( i know i can't spell i didn't really try )

Tonights match didn't really reveal anything. It was a win with a strongish team against a team that we never really had to sweat to beat. It was as comfortable win against a poor side as you will get. I don't like letting in sloppy goals but the goals came at a time when the game was over and to be fair two cracking strikes. i'm not saying everything is hunky dory but the two goals against in this game meant less than the poor defending we have been showing for years in the league. A clean sheet tonight would have meant nothing but it would mean more on sunday. Next game and another win please.

Job done, 3 points and top of the group.
Torreira is superb, we were 3-0 up when he went off. Whilst on the pitch he was a little general, dictating play from deep. He took a coupe of nasty knocks, hopefully he will be fit to start on Sunday.
Leno looks class playing out from the back, but we didn't get to see much more from him. However, neither goal was down to him.
Apart from his part in the 2nd goal, Lichtsteiner played well and is a proper RB.
The attendance was wierd with over 59,000 tickets sold, but many not turning up.
The team are looking fitter and stronger, noticeably Iwobi in particular.
Hopefully we can keep the winning streak going on Sunday, whilst we still get used to Emery's methods.

Torreira was excellent RG. The Ukrainians did there best to try and bash him and was on the end of a few tasty challenges but he didn’t get intimidated. He is so tenacious and always opens his body up when receiving the ball and looks to move forward quickly. Sokratis also looked good although I couldn’t see from the north bank wether or not he was to blame for either of the goals, it’s the first time I’ve seen him live and he looked a lot sharper than I thought and timed his tackles very well. A lot of positives but a bit disappointed that they lost concentration in the last 5 mins.

Tonights match was very revealing. Against top notch competition they are now capable of rising to the challenge. The next time Arsenal play at Anfield, Old Trafford or Kirklees Stadium I will be fully expecting a result.

i think in the coming weeks we will see exactly what we are in store for, for too many seasons we have had players coming back into pre season to late because they need a rest, at the cost of the team, with so few arsenal players in the world cup i would be annoyed not to see all players ( except world cup players) back in training in no longer than 2 weeks time, that's 1 month off.
With most of our team in pre season earlier for the first time in like ever and with the world cup on, we should be able to steal a march on other teams in the top 6, manu spurs liverpool man city and chelsea have more key players away than we do i think so preperations for them should start late, i would hope we would be starting early, with most of our players available from now and with a new pressing style being touted, we need as much time as possible to prepare the players and get them used to it, i'm not going say we will have a fantastic season, but we can certianly get of to a good start and go from there, with other teams players tired from a world cup.

I think the players need a good 6 weeks off mate as it's a long season where they are so restricted in what they can eat drink do, yes I know they are paid a fortune but they are still only human no matter how much you pay them.
Personally I think the players where possible should get two days a week off but be totally committed during the 5 days they play and train.
All work and no play can be as bad as all play and no work.
Mental fitness is every bit as important as physical fitness and if you can get the players to understand respect and buy into when they clock in its time for work 100% but when they clock off they are free to relax and enjoy life I think you would see a good return.
A good performance earns the players a minimum of one day a week off and 2 whenever possible, a performance that lacks commitment passion and effort earns extra training and no days off. Just like the real world if people undestand the rules and think they are fair they usually buy into them and work hard to get the rewards that are on offer.

i don't believe we will lose again this season! won't win all but don't think we will lose any game, it may mean going out in europe, maybe on away goals but again i don't think we will lose again this season.
lets hope so.

Where did you get that picture of steve r.

2.) 15 Mar 2018 22:04:48
Last 8 in a European competition for the first time in 9 years.
The Europa league has to be better for us than ground hog repeated champions league disappointment season after season surely.

But gunnner we have the chance to emulate utd. Win the EL and then bomb in the champs league.

5.) 15 Mar 2018 23:31:10
Well if we do Steve at least this season would have made a nice change.

the new man will not be there to run the club only to coach the team, that's why the new guys were brought in, and the problem with the club has always been the board, why people are only jumping on this bandwagon now is beyond me.

i don't think this deal has any chance of happening, they player is not wengers choice, if he were the deal would be done, he convinced the board to spend 30m on xhaka after all.

the biggest prob this club has is the people that run it, none of stans other teams are any good either, i get the wenger out part his time has come, and a more modern thinker needs to come in, but the fans should put in just as much effort trying to get stan out of this club also, if they don't we will be on a downward spiral for the next 20 years.
