Zaha, Lemar and anybody else we sign will not be effective while Arsene Wenger is manager.

I tend to agree Heybridge mate but what is the ulternative under Arsene?
If Arsene won't go then the only thing to do is keep hoping that somehow he will do something that makes a real difference I guess.
For me the smart money says he will simply plod on as he has for the last decade and do so for as long as he can until he is finally forced out.
But until then we just have to hope he does something different that actually makes a difference to our results over a season.

87 million for mpappe if its true is great news for us and great news for Arsene has its show he means business. If we can still keep Alexis that would be great. As for Mesut i think he is a luxury Arsenal cannot afford at this moment of time. Hope we can keep the Ox and he progresses more like he clearly has the last season. Really feel sorry for Perez because he didn't get much chances and when he did he delivered. Hate to see any of the English players go but i think Jack, Kieran and Jenko its adios. Santi is great but can't fathom at 33 and recovering from serious injury why he was given contract ext but i think that is Arsenes
loyalty showing thru again. The Arda Turan rumours keep re surfacing do not know to much about him and wonder if he is a cheaper option so we sell Ozil thus freeing up wages for Alexis.

Hello people just read that Ospina has got the nod over Cech, not sure if this is correct would be very peeved if this was true as Cech has been in good of late and Ospina isssupposedly of to Fenebhace. A other point i would like to ask is how we feel about playing 3 at the back with the BFG, and i was wondering if Debuchy might be worth a shout as part of a back 3 with Monreal and Holding if Mustafi doesn't play
By the way the wife has called it 2-1 to us tomorrow.

I don't understand his logic in cup games. Play your strongest team. Granted it's good to rest players during the season but now it's time to put niceness aside. Sadly that's something arsene has developed as he has got older. A kindness and reluctance to chop and change players when needed.

2.) 26 May 2017 21:40:14
If we have to play merts would prefer part of a 3 as safety in numbers.

3.) 26 May 2017 22:57:59
Has mert played at all this season? I can't honestly remember. It has to be the best possible starting 11. Is mustafi out? I haven't looked at those available but for me the back 4 has to be cech, mustafi, holding, monreal.

Been reading 62s post about Jack and the club and I can see in some respect where he is coming from. I do feel because of our appalling record regarding injuries if Jack had been at a another club who treated his injuries differently the football watching public would be enjoying his obvious footballing talents the talents we Gooners have only seen in patches (his performance in the first leg against Barcelona 2011 is the one I will always remember. ) Sadly if, we do sell him I don't think that will change much for Jack as the damage has been done so to speak. His performance on Sunday was as all the team shocking and his continuous griping is something he has picked up off the manager.
As for tonight's game I can only see further pain.

Hi Heybridge mate, I just think the more games Jack plays this season the more like the old Jack he gets.
When he first came back he seemed more out to prove himself but now he's a regular again he's spending more time on the floor or just standing with hands on hips looking at ref when he loses the ball, just like he use to.
He needs a different manager and club and we need a different player in my opinion.
Mind you under Arsene right now what player is playing well for more than the odd game here and there?

27 Feb 2018 17:16:20
Jack has followed on from Wenger with embarrassing post match excuses. Mind you its got a long way to go to match some of the stuff Wenger has spouted over the last few seasons. But looking forward Gooners who can me hopefully/ realistically see as the next manager. As I have previously posted on hear I would lean to a combo of Viera/ Henry or one of them and Arteta. If it was a big name I would love Ancellotti or Simeone.
Stepping down a tier Tuchel, Jardim.
I have not mentioned Luis Enrique because I think he is nailed on to Chelsea. The other thing I was thinking of Is Umal Emery. If PSG were to get knocked out by Real Madrid or even later in the competition considering the money they have spent do you think PSG would then make a concerted effort for Arsene and that would/ could be his escape route or more to the point OUR ESCAPE ROUTE FROM HIM.
This is closest I have felt that this could or more to the point SHOULD be his last season. To be quite honest Arsene I think you missed a trick last season winning the FA Cup and going out on a high.
I think your ego once again was the overpowering force.

I posted earlier and it went in the other post page. Today Gunnerbod wasn't about who spends the most money. It was about two managers both coming off bad results. One has used it to motivate his team, the other who is so arrogant clearly did not. There are many, problems at our football club Gunnerbod and most of them stem from a manager who quite frankly can't do the job that his ego thinks he can.

1.) 25 Feb 2018 20:06:54
The money thing is simply because it was City beating us, if it had been West ham it would have been no European football to cope with excuses and if it had been Wigan it would have been not having to cope with the premier league stresses and strains, you get where I'm going because like me you've heard them all before from the naughty stadium to bad luck with injuries like no other club in history to all our fantastic Young players potential coming good to we are just 2 or 3 players away.
An inbuilt excuse for any given situation has become our trade mark.

2.) 25 Feb 2018 20:14:22
Lets stop the bull about money today we were beaten by a team that is well coached plays a passing game (which we used to) and defends as a team. defenders who head the ball instead of being pushed around by one of the smallest players on the pitch. our team try and pass to another player while he is surrounded by blue shirts and give up when the going got tough. i knew we would be beaten but it would have been nice to see some fight. we have one of the best defenders we ever had next to wenger does he have a say i think not. the manager sets up the team the buck stops with him. i think the team has stopped playing for him because his methods are in the past. we will not progress until something new is tried and i'm afraid it won't be while wenger is boss.

24 Feb 2018 10:26:26
Wenger in the past when he has been tottering has had a get out of jail game come along. Tomorrow is that game so I have feeling 2-1 to us or we win on penalties.

heybridge gooner

1.) 24 Feb 2018 11:23:57
It's a no lose situation for us, If we get stuffed hey ho everyone half expects it while if our players put in a performance and make a real game of it we will all be happy regardless of the result.
If our players give everything we will be happy.

2.) 24 Feb 2018 12:45:35
Shame no Lacazette as that limits our scoring options - really need a fit Rambo as outside of him it’s down to Nacho or Kola!

Back 4 as normal

Midfield - Rambo Jack Xhaka Kola

Up front - Ozil and Pea

Need to have energy, pressing and commitment in midfield

Midfield also offers a bit of goal threat

I would have put Welbeck in over Kola but then we have no attacking option on the Bench.

Shame we don’t have Giroud or Laca as we have limited options where as money bags $ity have loads.

3.) 24 Feb 2018 13:41:21
Yeah it's all about money SY our measly 200 million spend over the last 4 years gives us little chance of finishing above big spenders like Spurs Liverpool and Leicester:-)
Mate just accept we haven't spent wisely or got the best out of our investments rather than keep making excuses for us, only by doing this can we ever hope for the future to be different from the recent past.

4.) 24 Feb 2018 14:58:29
62 - squad cost at start of the season:

Club Country Cost (euros)
Manchester City England 853
Paris St-Germain France 850
Manchester United England 784
Chelsea England 644
Barcelona Spain 628
Real Madrid Spain 497
Juventus Italy 470
Liverpool England 437
Arsenal England 416
Tottenham England 361

No excuses but you be realistic - we can’t compete with City and Utd or Chelsea but some expect us to finish above them

Have we invested best as possible - no but limited funds don’t always help.

5.) 24 Feb 2018 15:18:55
May be : Rambo -Jack -Maitland-Niles - Kola

Bit more mobile.

6.) 24 Feb 2018 16:22:11
SY mate let's conceed that Utd City Chelsea have an unbeatable advantage over us and any points we take off them is an amazing achievement, that's 12 points a season and we are currently 27 behind city and after Thursday that might well be 30 pts with 10 games to go?
No matter if City spent 1 trillion on players they can still only field 11 at a time same as everyone else and no money gap explains away a 30 pts gap and it being mathematically impossible for us to catch them with over a quater of the season still left to go.
Sorry mate it sounds a lot like the same old excuses to me.

7.) 24 Feb 2018 17:07:28
I do state NO EXCUSES and that we haven’t invested best.

Like my team for tomorrow?

8.) 24 Feb 2018 17:39:03
I think its going to be 2-1 to the Arsenal, or 5-0 to City. We'll know after the first few minutes.

9.) 24 Feb 2018 17:41:23
Yes SY mate but I'd play Elneney or Even Chambers in Xhaka place as DM or even Kol as DM and use Danny on the left.
I know it's a big game to experiment with an untried DM in but we have a history against City of playing a previously untried player there with huge success, Le Coq made his DM debut against City away and we win 0 2 :-)

10.) 24 Feb 2018 19:02:15
I would swap Xhaka and Maitland-Niles while playing Kola in a familiar Left midfield position

Power, Energy and mobility - think mobility will be key against a fluid City team while Jack and Rambo offer a turn of pace or a late run into the box.

Out the traps strong and fast unlike against Spurs - need to learn from that

Elneny is a bit pedestrian and Chambers needs to sort his confidence out first.

11.) 24 Feb 2018 19:05:10
May be Nketiah and AMN could be the surprises then as he has to be a better option up front the Welbeck as a striker so Welbeck can replace Kola in second half if needed.

12.) 24 Feb 2018 19:51:07
Obviously we've got to keep it tight at the back as we can, I knew that's usailly as tight as a shirt that's 3 times to big for you but we have to do the best WE can, plus try and make it difficult for them to simply pass and move through our Mf like a hot knife through butter and put pressure by breaking at speed.
If it was me picking the team I'd go 3 4 3 playing Ozil and Ramsey behind Pea with strict instructions not to come into our final 3rd

Ospina
Mustafi Kos Monreal
Belerin Elney Jack Kol

Ramsey Ozil
Pea
Not brilliant but personally I think it's as good as anything else we can put together.

See the posts earlier about former players having a go, I agree about Merse, Tony and Keown having a go is bad espically Tony who tries at management are nothing to write home about. Wrighty is absolute stand up bloke who when he speaks it comes straight from the heart and his documentary about Rocky and him growing up South London and making their name in football is a must see for any gooner or any football fan really. David O, Leary was another one especially when he was a manager at Leeds continually having a go and I think someone on the board said at the time he would never be welcomed back in any role at the club. Everybody is entitled to their opinions but it does seem certain ex players only speak to drag the club down. Getting away from that can Mkitharyan play next Sunday?

Nail on the head with Wrighty mate, he always seems more upset and disappointed the way we do, the others are just bashing the club for the sake of it.

Didnt see the game last night but apparently Spurs were the better team according to reports. Tottenham i have to say look very good since Pocchettino took over, but here's the weak link in my opinion . Pocchettino has not got a trophy in his cv and despite obviously taking Tottenham in the right direction Tottenham in my opinion need to go for a upgrade on him. Is he a good manager YES does he bring the youngsters on YES can he take Spurs to the next level? ? And before anybody thinks i am biased i am not its just my honest opinion thru observations.
