Miquel now gone - sold to Norwich on a 3 year deal. Must be a sign that we have a replacement lined up. Couldn't possibly be an excess of confidence in the questionable quality of the squad.

Signing Aouar could've been a total game changer.

Word on the street is the raver would've switched allegiances in favour of the new 24 Aouar Partey people.

Nice I like it.

2.) 07 Oct 2020 21:15:23
Yes indeed. Aouar and partey would have been a frightening midfield, but as it is the case with arsenal always, you never get the full course.

Really solid performance by the ref today. Not often we say this but then again there were several moments today that had us thinking one thing while watching it on TV, before the replay helped us catch up and realise what had actually happened. The ref clearly had his positioning spot on and did exceptionally well to get so many of those calls right -
especially with the sun in his eyes for half the game.
Wherever he is, he should take a bow.

Are you serious? He was wildly inconsistent all night. Penalty for Willian, ref books him for diving. Pedro gets a red for a tackle on the ankle with studs showing, yet Bellerin gets a yellow when he does the same on Alonso. Alonso gets a yellow for obstructing Bellerin, yet Bellerin doesn't get a 2nd yellow when he does the same on Azpi.

2.) 06 Aug 2017 22:46:33
If it works in our favour. Ref played a blinder 😊.

3.) 06 Aug 2017 23:32:56
Jackson - worry about your own players staying upright. Rules have changed this season which will hurt you as you have a few divers plus Champ league. You were no bodies before for oil money and nobodies once it goes - enjoy your ill gotten gains 😉 interesting season for you guys as now teams have more spending power.

Where were you before the Russian invasion?

Seen a lot posts saying we are going to sell or should be planning to sell Wilshere. Surely if that's true, we'd be looking to release him rather than sell him this summer? The lad has a severe injury and is unlikely to pass a medical anywhere between now and the transfer window closing, or am I missing something?

gunnerbeglorious

1.) 25 Jun 2017 11:27:40
I think he can easily pass a medical when fit mate, getting Jack fit isn't the problem it's keeping him fit that's the problem.
Bournemouth managed thus for most of last season by letting him stay out of the game completely for long periods during games, obviously not something most sides would be prepared to do admittedly.

2.) 26 Jun 2017 05:47:16
I think if anybody is stupid enough to pay for him we should bite their hands off and take the money.
It's been a long time coming. We should have got shot of him years ago.
I'm also going to stick my neck out and say the same for Ramsey. One stand out season and a few important goals last season ( maybe 2 or 3 ) doesn't make him a keepsake. Apart from that he should have been cashed in on years ago too.

I'll be gutted if Diego Costa leaves the Premier league before next season's curtain raiser. Would've been great to see Holding really get to him at Wembley once again.

I hear Kylian has been on the treatment table since Friday and Wenger has now decided he'll fit right in at Arsenal.

I agree Ramsey should go because I think he's losing out by staying and could be twice the player we've seen at a different club. Sadly we can't give him that and we're not prepared to cut him a lot of slack, but matches like Watford last week only entrench those views further.

Letting Ramsey go and using more solid midfielders behind our number 10s is surely a reason to keep Ozil though. When the team's playing well as a whole, Ozil tends to exemplify that. We'd be mad to let him go if he wants to stay and would almost definitely get better with more stable reinforcements backing him up in our midfield.

But hey, who needs that kind of prospect when they can just recall Takuma Asano this summer (visa issues aside) and it'll be a case of 'job done'?

Hahaha, love it Dags.

Seriously, Wenger's control over spending shouldn't be a significant concern to us. He's produced a fair few good squads over the years and has had quite a few very shrewd purchases in those squads.

Most of the problems that bother us, like not showing up for the big games, sleepwalking into the first half of games or even significant injuries to key players, might well stop bothering us if he moved upstairs.

It could be anything between a lay-off of four days and four months.

Either way, the doctors probably don't have a scooby, and it'll be longer still before we fans get any inkling whatsoever.

How about people hold off on posting overly pessimistic or optimistic filler on this page and see what comes out as confirmed? Just a thought.

Aye son, you're not wrong. Wenger's confirmed it today, like. Six weeks minimum on the sidelines and all down to a totally pointless, reckless challenge that somehow went unpunished.

Pretty sure he's represented by a super agent. Arsenal might have broken their transfer record but I don't see them going in for anyone at the exorbitant levels that breed of agent tends to involve. That most likely rules out a move for Carvalho.

I definitely don't consider Ramsey part of our best 11 but I wouldn't complain if he started today because he seems to do a great job of getting under Dele Alli's skin. If we're not going to outclass them on the day, we've got to stop them playing with their usual comfort somehow.

Did the same thing but had a ratio of six Spuds to five Goons - five outfield players apiece and Lloris the keeper. Saying that, I wasn't limited to only fit players, so Santi edged it over Eriksen in mine.

I think it's easy to get carried away and say Spurs have "better players" because it's more the case that players in good teams can look better than they are. Can anyone seriously say Kyle Walker and Danny Rose would play even nearly as well if they slotted into an Arsenal back four and played behind Xhaka and Ramsey? In fact it's a massive testament to Pochettino that he's managed to get anything out of Walker at all.

I'd say Arsenal genuinely have a higher number of more talented players than Spurs and Arsenal would fill more than half of a matchday squad, but sadly it seems it would be far too tempting to swap our first 11 for theirs to have a team that gelled that well in attack and defence.

Looks as if Bellerin has been short of full fitness lately. This will give him a chance to take a backseat and rebuild some fitness before competing for that position, assuming we stick with the back three and two wing-backs. But longer term, there has got to be a case for Bellerin playing where Ox did yesterday and Ox moving into CM - especially given that Ramsey didn't make the greatest case to nail down a spot there yesterday.
