All the talk is of front players. We need a decent defence, oh and a new goalkeeper would be usefull.

And manager, and board.
Even Gunnersauras is p***ing me off lately.

Dags apparently wenger has pinpointed him as one of the problems we are not performing. Watch this space.

3.) 15 Jan 2018 17:17:12
Still think sanchez is off to city steve!

4.) 15 Jan 2018 17:48:42
With all the press sano, not sure. I would think if he uses his head he would go to citeh and pep. I would be astounded and upset on so many levels if he ended up with maureen. Of the two clubs citeh are more likely to win the big prizes over the next two or three years. I think to a lesser extent maureen is a younger wenger, he is getting left behind by the younger managers.

5.) 15 Jan 2018 17:59:19
Sorry last line should have said, with maureens brand of football.

6.) 15 Jan 2018 18:06:37
I agree with you on mour. Sanchez going to United is only going to make them stronger and that will be another team harder to catch. You can only play 11 so o would prefer city got him to be fair . But football doesn’t work like that I’m afraid.

7.) 15 Jan 2018 18:18:43
Maureen never fully trusts youth. Rashford, martial, lingard will all suffer in some way if sanchez went. Short term thinking to what ends for the future. They aren't going to win the league this year and another full season under there belts playing would make them better next year. Sanchez could easily under maureen be a big plus but he could also be an even bigger negative. Big spend for no trophies if they don't win one. I don't see him being the final piece needed for the jigsaw. I don't at citeh either but they have moved ahead of utd.

if i'm sanchez I wait for city. but its his life I guess. and the offer for manu is crazy. hope he doesn't live to regret it di maria style.

Hi Eds
Many thanks for your input over the last few weeks.
It would seem that we are having difficulty offloading our fringe players, mainly due to their wage demands.
I remember reading a while back that we seem to over pay our ''average'' players whilst not being prepared to pay our best players the top wages they seem to expect these days.
It seems that our poorly constructed wage system has come back to haunt us!

We tried to tie young prospects down by giving them super wages for non first team football in the hope they would automatically fill the viod of players who left meaning we had ready made replacements on tap with no transfer fees to payout and could simply bank the money from sales of players who decided to leave.
In principle it was a brilliant plan and it would have worked to " if it wasn't for those pesky kids not making the grade " :-)

Hi Ed
Not a rumor more a thought
Why sign a very expensive 19 year old who's only ambition will be to move on in 2-3 years time after we have made him a better player?
Goonerbm.

goonerbm

{Ed001's Note - to make a profit and because he improves the team for 2-3 years.}

1.) 22 Jun 2017 10:39:36
It really is a simple as that ed. I think that it would be great for the club.

{Ed001's Note - anyway, you might be able to surround him with better talent, good enough to make him happy to stay, plus it is possible he may grow to love the club.}

2.) 22 Jun 2017 11:21:03
I honestly don't get the fans worrying about money. First we don't spend enough then we spend to much. Arsenal need to make a statement that makes people realise that we are one of the biggest clubs in the world.

3.) 22 Jun 2017 22:59:57
Would 1 super signing make the difference to Spurs last season becoming champions next season? Possibly
City? Not likely
Utd Liverpool Arsenal extremely unlikely.

We are a lot further away than that imo, for one player to make that make up for all the weaknesses that have held us back for a decade or more he needs to be better than anything we've ever had before, better than Bergkamp better than Henry better than Adams better than Ian Wright.

I just can't see how any of our single best players from the past could possibly turn our current squad into champions even if we kept Sanchez as well.
I think we are a lot further away than people realise as team, maybe not as pound for pound individuals but as a team the gap between us and a genuine title bid is huge.

4.) 23 Jun 2017 00:18:04
No ones suggesting that if we buy mbappe that it will bring success? That's not the point of this at all! It's intent. We have already got a decent LB for free. Maybe a few more. I don't know but you have to try or is all lost no matter what we do this summer?

5.) 23 Jun 2017 08:44:29
Europa league, league cup and FA cup are in my opinion realistic achievable targets for our current set of to have a realistic chance of getting.
The premier league or even mounting a serious challenge for it? How is a set up that has been so exposed so many times before going to suddenly show the character and the mentality needed to run, compete and win a marathon? Why this season? What has suddenly changed?
I have for years been saying all I wanted was to see us genuinly compete in the premier league again but last season made me realize that is simply beyond the current set up at the club and if Sanchez can't drag it out of them then it probably just isn't there to be dragged out at all.
Without anything dramatically changing like a new manager with different ways views ideas or wholesale dismantling of the cosy club under the current manager why will next seasons premier league campaign be any different to the last 10?
I can't see it but mind you I don't expect Leicester to win the 2015/ 16 title or for Brexit or Trump to happen so maybe I will be wrong yet again but as we stand I just can't logically convince myself of any reason why this time will any different to the rest league wise so I'm saving all my excitement for the 3 cups rather than spend another season letting my disappointment in the league spoil the entire season for me.

Good Morning Ed
First ever post
You said that Arsenal would not sign BOTH Mbappe and Lacazette (assuming of course we sign even just one) was this based on Sanchez staying or going please.
Also if Ospina goes will we be looking for a new cover in goal or a new No 1 in goal?
Many thanks for your time
Goonerbm.

goonerbm

{Ed002's Note - Goonerbum, welcome. It is based on Arsenal will not sign both players regardless of Sanchez moving. It simply won't happen.}

1.) 08 Jun 2017 22:42:14
Will we sign one ed.

{Ed002's Note - There is a chance that Lacazette will join.}

You are correct it is all about money. Whilst the shareholders continue to rake off large profits from their investment then nothing will change
Solution STAY AWAY. Once they see their profits are at risk then the board may act to improve the team
No shirt
No season ticket
No return on food sale
HIT THEM WHERE IT HURTS IN THEIR GREEDY POCKETS.
