Good luck tonight

Hope your guys do the business for Arsene.

It would be brilliant to end the journey with a European final

YNWA.

Tommy Gunn

{Ed002's Note - A good sentiment, I hope supported by all.}

I really would love arsene to end with a European trophy. He really does deserve it at the very least.

From reading the posts on here I can feel your pain.

It reminds me of how miserable I was feeling when we had Brendan in charge and the wheels had come off.

We were shockingly bad and there was a real feeling of despair.

Then out of the blue FSG played a blinder and they finally got a big decision right and Juergen became our manager.

Our whole club was lifted. The transformation in the supporters belief was incredible.

Slowly but surely Klopp has been able to improve our side and whilst we haven't won anything yet pretty much everyone will agree that we play great football.

Arsenal are about to undergo a massive change in management with Arsene leaving. The guy is literally a living legend but his time with you is up.

Who you get in next is really important. If you do a Man Utd and bring in a Moyes then it will be bleak. However I can see signs of hope for you in that you have put in place a couple of really strong football guys who know what they are doing. If they get the right first team coach then everything else will fall into place pretty quickly and the turnaround in your fortunes will be pretty quick.

If you get the right guy then you can motor past Chelski and Spurs and join the fun when we take on the two Manchester sides.

We have underperformed for too long and it is only under Klopp that we have seen last gut at the end of the tunnel on our journey.

It might feel that you are in a dark place right now but if you get the right guy then all that will change quicker than you might imagine.

As to who you get maybe you will go for Nagelsman? He would be a really brave
choice.

Maybe look at the Napoli guy and don't rule out Rafa as he would definitely do the business.

Give Wenger a brilliant send off then wait and see who you get in and just hold on to the thought that it can change for the better quicker than you might think.

Best of luck guys and I will be looking forward to our games with you next season.

Thanks TG, its all exciting and at the moment the wait is hard but i think the club has already made positive changes but the big one is the most important. Good luck in the final.

Personal I wouldn't want Rafa but if we got him I'd support him.
Rafa spent Liverpools money like water to the point where you nearly went burst plus he went 99 games without picking the same side twice plus the bizarre substitutions that cost you so many games late on plus the buying and selling of Robbie Keane at huge loss was extremely bizarre. I've never understood why Liverpool fans over look so much he got so wrong when at huge expense he had the players but never won you the title.

{Ed0333's Note - Rafa wasn’t the reason we nearly went bust how ignorant and Ill informed are you. Every manager makes expensive mistakes in the transfer market and Robbie Keane sale had mitigating circumstances which I don’t want to go into. He may have never won us the title but he won us our 5th European Cup which is not too shabby.

3.) 05 May 2018 07:39:38
Rafa isn't my first choice but he is an excellent manager and one i would be happy with and excited. he's got a fantastic record. He went to chelski a hate figure and did a fantastic job at a toxic club. His trophy haul is not too shabby either. He is a great manaager/ coach at clubs like ours, not the biggest spenders.

4.) 05 May 2018 08:56:25
Like I say Ed0333 Liverpool fans can see no wrong in Rafa but in his last season you went out of the champions league group stages and finished 8th in the premier league after spending how much in the transfer market despite Liverpool having huge debts.
I am an outsider and all I can say is as an outsider looking in to buy Robbie Kean for a then huge fee then sell him at a huge loss in the next window despite doing quite well and being subbed when he scored 2 goals in a game denying him a chance to get his first Hatrick for the club he'd supported all his life prior to joining Liverpool I did find extremely bizarre at the time and still do today mate.
Oh and what was that injured Italian players name Rafa bought for 20 million if I remember right? Did he ever play for Liverpool in the end?
Rafa might not have been directly responsible for all Liverpools money troubles but his throwing money around like confetti can't have helped the situation I'm sure.

{Ed0333's Note - Robbie Keane was an abject failure at Liverpool for one reason only and that was Robbie Keane himself. In absolutely no way shape or form did he do quite well at Liverpool he was a failure and he only has himself to blame. Rafa was playing high level politics with two snake oil salesman owners and it was a toxic situation which he ultimately paid the price for with his job. He was promised players and at the last minute the deals didn’t go through e.g David Silva. Rafa was constantly being undermined and his job was becoming increasingly more suffocating by the second. Aquilani is the Italian player you are referring to and yes he was a dud but you’ve had plenty of those at Arsenal over the years also mate.

Rafa it's a no From me. Wanted Alonso out for Gareth Barry.

Liverpool supporter just coming along to say that whatever has. been happening over the last season or two Arsene is a 24 carat gold living legend and most likely the best manager you have had.

He had to go head to head against Fergie and Arsene was the guy who showed dignity and class.

He led the move from Highbury and he led the best team the EPL has ever seen. The invincibles were majestic.

You need to get his statute built. Too many times we celebrate our heroes when they have passed. It would be so much better to show appreciation love and support when the person is around to savour it and you have that opportunity.

Win the UEFA cup for Arsene and let's hope we can play you pre-season in the Super Cup or whatever it is called (if we can win the Champions League this season) .

If we have a hall of fame for managers Arsene gets a seat at the top table.

Maybe he should take on the England job now. He would be pretty good at that I suspect.

Top post TG
I love the bit about how we so often leave it to late to tell and show people how much they really mean, even if we don't always agree with them.
The living years by Mike and the mechanics comes to mind.

2.) 20 Apr 2018 14:21:51
Top post TG. This is 100% the right decision. I have gone immediately from being totally exasperated with the man to remembering him for what he has done for the club. Legend status is not in doubt.

3.) 20 Apr 2018 14:23:05
I hope so tommy I’m behind your boys for The champions league, I always wanted klopp years back and I was always Wenger in back then but that was only if klopp wasn’t on the radar. Klopp will do for you what Wenger did for us.

4.) 20 Apr 2018 16:59:45
Wenger and Klopp are made out of the same slab of granite.

They are solid football men of substance. No plastic in sight.

They are in it for the long haul to build legacies and to give the club’s fans memories that they can pass on to their grandchildren.

Wenger may have tarnished his reputation a little but his status as a top top manager will come through.

You owe him a massive debt of gratitude for all the wonderful years and success.

Good luck in finding the right guy to take on the job.

We will be looking to kick on again next season so look forward to when we next meet.

Liverpool supporter here to say hello

We got a bit of stick when Jurgen led the team out to thank the Kop after the WBA draw. You seem to have trumped that by Islington Borough Council confirming the arrangements for your EPL victory parade. Nothing like being prepared!

Anyway looking forward to the New Year and really hope we can make the top four and win some silverware this season . Then we can get some players in the summer and see what Jurgen can do.

It will b great if both our clubs can be genuine challengers for the league over the next few seasons.

Top four this year; Arsenal Spurs Citeh and Liverpool. Pretty radical!

My genuine best wishes to you all for a peaceful and healthy New Year and a great 2016 (but not when you visit Anfield! )

Lol Tommy,
Wishing you and your family all the best for the new year mate.

Remember, look after Klipperty for us.

2.) 31 Dec 2015 19:44:48
Enjoy your evening Dags.

Jurgen has now had the pleasure of meeting Tony anti football Pulis and Big Sam so he his getting a true taste of what the EPL is all about. Bet it's a bit of a culture shock for him after rubbing shoulders with Jose and Pellegrini!

Ed001 have seen the pictures of the fire at the hotel in Dubai. Hope that you and all your family and friends are safe and sound.

{Ed001's Note - all good mate, thankfully it was too expensive for my parents to come over for NYE as they had planned or we would have all been there. As it is we are stuffing our face on a feast and not going up to the rooftop to watch the fireworks as they have been cancelled. I just hope everyone there is ok, though it did look a bad fire and it is where everyone gathers.}

3.) 31 Dec 2015 19:50:49
Reports here say 14 minor injuries. Hopefully that is the case as the pictures show that the fire is pretty fierce.

They are reporting that the fireworks are going ahead!

{Ed001's Note - I was told the fireworks were cancelled.}

Liverpool supporter just visiting to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a peaceful and healthy New Year.

If we can't win the league then you guys should go and grab it.

I know Arsene is not universally supported but he has been a top manager for so long and he fully deserves respect for the way he wants the game to be played.

You guys will miss him once he is gone but at least he will be leaving you in great shape.

Jurgen has had this season to get used to the EPL and we will be back soon enough to be serious challengers so make the most of it whilst you can.

All the best.

Tommy Gunn

1.) 24 Dec 2015 12:33:43
Morning Tommy,
Thank you kind Sir, wishing you and your family all the best for Christmas and the New Year.

2.) 24 Dec 2015 12:46:00
Ps Tommy,
Look after Klipperty, we will have him off you end of next season :-)

3.) 24 Dec 2015 14:09:51
Sorry but Jurgen is going nowhere for at least one the next 7 years whilst he puts a new dynasty in place at Anfield.

You can have your pick of LVG Jose Rafa and Pep. They are all available now or shortly. Clearly one of those guys is head and shoulders ahead of the others but will he wait or will he take second best and go to Manchester or Chelski?

I understand that Arsene is due to move aside after next season. If you win the league this year and are strong next season will that change?

Anyway whilst you enjoy yourselves right now we are as happy as punch just looking forward to when Jurgen begins to get the team he wants.

It just goes to show that getting the right manager in place is the most important thing for a club to do. Hopefully Manchester United and Chelski will make bad appointments.

4.) 24 Dec 2015 15:29:54
I think irrespective of where we finish next season, Arsene will definitely leave.
If we are Champions, this season or next, it will bring to his fruition of leaving Arsenal Football Club in a "good" place.

5.) 24 Dec 2015 16:01:14
Arsene is in the very select band of managers who can choose when he has had enough.

Most managers are shown the door sooner or later. Arsene has overseen the move to a new home kept the club's finances under control built a formidable side and always made his teams play the right way.

He is a worthy successor to the likes of Chapman Mee and Graham.

6.) 24 Dec 2015 16:21:04
You are absolutely spot on Tommy.

Liverpool supporter just calling by to say that it must be really tough to replace Arsene.

Remember how difficult it was for Man Utd to replace Fergie.

Not sure about Arteta but I am pretty sure that Ancelloti would be a disaster.

The Napoli manager might be worth a look.

You have some pretty good attacking options but you may need some steel and organisation to get back into the top four.

Anyway let’s see who you get as coach and whether he can mix it with Jurgen Pep and the current Old Trafford guy who looks pretty miserable these days.

One bit of advice I would give you though which is most likely unwelcome is that you should cut your losses with Wilshere. Let him move on to West Ham or some other team at that level. He is not a top four player now.
