Hi Ed's,

Do you know of any early rumours in the run up to the January window?

Cheers!

1.) 23 Nov 2017 09:56:52
Listen to the sharkopod mate! Tell you what you need to know. Just type it in the search bar and listen to it.

2.) 24 Nov 2017 08:00:47
I’ve tried this and it doesn’t show one.

{Ed033's Note - All Sharkopods have been deleted at the request of Ed002

3.) 25 Nov 2017 11:24:48
That’s a shame I was going to listen to that. Why have they been deleted if it’s okay to ask.

{Ed001's Note - abuse.}

4.) 25 Nov 2017 11:54:55
Abuse? Why do people fire off abuse? How do they do it Ed and is it Arsenal fans?

{Ed001's Note - why? Because they are morons. As for who they support, I have no idea to be honest, it is hard to say for certain, as they could be pretending to support any team they want.}

5.) 25 Nov 2017 15:13:08
I just don't understand and hope I never do understand the idiots who go out of their way to abuse people on line for having an opinion or being different. I certainly don't understand people that give the Eds abuse - just stay off the site and live your life while allowing others to gain knowledge or debate areas of their interest.

{Ed001's Note - the oddest are those that ask for information then proceed to abuse us because the information is not to their liking. Why ask if you don't actually want to know? People are odd.}

6.) 25 Nov 2017 11:15:11
Is ed02 chief quimby?

7.) 26 Nov 2017 07:59:09
I presume this wasn't an arsenal page problem this time?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know sorry.}

8.) 27 Nov 2017 11:02:18
Fair enough ed. So annoying that some morons ruin these pages.

9.) 27 Nov 2017 13:53:08
Sorry Ed's! Why can't we all just get along?!?

The few ruin it for the many. Just know the vast majority do appreciate your time in visiting and posting on these pages, god knows you probably have better things to be doing. Can't say I blame any of you for ditching it.

Have a good Christmas and a merry January transfer window.

{Ed002's Note - It is a bugger - perhaps Ed033 would kindly put them back.}

10.) 27 Nov 2017 23:11:08
Did they return? Can you share the link?
Thanks Eds.

Hi Ed's,

What do you expect to happen from an Arsenal transfer perspective today?

Other than Ox leaving, what else can you tell us?

Thanks.

Skywalker-L

{Ed001's Note - most of the concentration seems to be on Draxler and trying to find a buyer for Mustafi.}

1.) 31 Aug 2017 08:42:08
Thanks a lot.

Surprising that we aren't chasing a defender more keenly.

{Ed001's Note - Mustafi is the key to a defender, though you have a year of Mertesacker and he is worth 2 defenders.....}

2.) 31 Aug 2017 08:50:41
Ed01,

Not sure if you've already answered this but what's the score with Mustafi leaving, is he seen as not good enough, a fall out with someone or is he just not happy at Arsenal.

Thanks in advance mate.

{Ed001's Note - he wants to leave.}

3.) 31 Aug 2017 10:58:48
I read a rumour somewhere that Mustafi had a falling out of sorts with Mr. Wenger and he isn't happy at Arsenal just like Alexis. Wants to leave because he doesn't believe the club is going in the right direction. Is it true ed1?

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

4.) 31 Aug 2017 12:49:52
I haven't heard any prices regarding Draxler, does anybody have any idea?

I think that if he is an option then I would love to see him in an Arsenal shirt, especially if it is as a replacement for a player who does not want to be here anymore!

However pricing is key. I would imagine around the £50mill mark?

I don't even want to talk about defensive issues!

Hi Ed's,

Obviously we are now soon after the end of the window, and seemingly we were after a central midfielder and either Draxler or Lemar.

Are you aware of any plans at this stage to go in for anyone in central midfield or either Draxler/ Lemar? Or will a lot depend on how we are performing up to then?

I am intrigued to see what happens now that there has been a lot of publicity about what we tried to do in the final few days and hours of the summer window.

Thanks as always.

Skywalker-L

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know at this point in time.}

1.) 06 Sep 2017 09:28:08
Oh know not the January window already! :-)
Please stop with BenLemDraxuain for while.
Bournemouth Saturday? whoops the Arsenal:-)

2.) 06 Sep 2017 14:22:07
As big a club arsenal ks, unless the wages are crazy I don't see these player so xominbf unless you guys show some intent by signing a few big names.

Forgive my ba dtyoing i'm full of anaesthetic and not quite right.

30 Aug 2017 08:11:34
Not a rumour and more of thought/ call to arms, and no doubt I will get a lot of thumbs down.

I see a lot of people on here saying 'who would want to sign for Arsenal' at the moment. Now I get that things aren't exactly rosey in the garden, but we are still THE Arsenal. We are one of the great teams and we are still a draw to a lot of players. Even AW is a manager a lot of people still want to play for.

I have seen reports of players such as Draxler and Seri saying that they would happily play for Arsenal - that shirt still means a lot to a lot of people, especially with the history that it brings.

I am as frustrated as anyone, believe me, but let's be supporters and actually try supporting this club, regardless of how crap we are at completing transfers. It's still 11 players on the pitch with our crest on their chests that need our support - regardless of whether we've had Steve Morrow and Ian Selley or Patrick Vieira and Manu Petit in midfield, they still felt the support of the fans.

WE can make a difference to things, so let's stop our moaning and get on with doing our job and support the players that pull on the shirt.

Skywalker-L

1.) 30 Aug 2017 08:37:52
I agree and they do get the support they deserve but it's all a two way thing. The fans have built this club and they deserve to see commitment and competency from the club. Everyone is accountable.

2.) 30 Aug 2017 08:45:13
I see where your going and appreciate what your trying to do but support a group of individuals who show no passion or commitment in the shirt? That's a very big ask.
Steve Morrow Selby and lots of other players have worn our shirt without being the most fantastic of players but I have never ever in over 40 years seen players wear if with such little effort passion or commitment.
Sorry but Arsene may or may not have lost the dressing room but together he and his players have lost the interest of many many fans who are desperately waiting for a team they can rely on to show up each week and get fully behind again.
I personally think the ball is very very much in players managers and clubs court right now and they need to start winning back the support THEY have lost and not expect that like everything else at Arsenal to simply come for nothing.

3.) 30 Aug 2017 08:56:18
No good supporting the players who pull on the shirt if they have absolutely no interest in wearing it.

4.) 30 Aug 2017 09:31:07
62,
You make a great point.
Pro Wengers and outside fans miss the bigger picture and actual point when the criticisms are made.
Its not that we feel entitled to winning or expect hundreds of millions spent each year.
When you chose Arsenal as your team no matter what age you were it was because you were drawn to them, you could identify with them and you felt you knew Brady, Seaman, Adams, Merson, Wright. the list goes on and on. Youd never met them personally but they represented you and you were inexplicably drawn to them.
Any true football fan will tell you the same when he reminisces about why he loves his team.
Id be shocked if you canfind me an Arsenal fan of 20+ years who cam relate to this crop and the manager who harvested this attitude and mentality they now possess.
Ox Chambo was a hero the back end of last year, was it because he was putting in phenomenal skillful match winning performances? . nope, it was because he became identifiable with our fans through social media and because he was the first and last to acknowledge the fans both at home and particularly away after wins, draws or bad loses.
Thats why his stature has risen, not because he's particularly evolved as a player. that's all we want. Acknowledge us, let us at least pretend we make a difference or enter your thoughts at some points. score a goal and run into our crowd and celebrate at some stage this decade.
You want to know the sad truth? Wenger gets rid of the players who have what we used to have and what he inherited from George Grahams era. players who provoke debate and challenge themselves and those around them to strive to be better for the cause. Schezny sold to JUVENTUS, just read his farewell to the fans and tell me he wanted to leave this club. Wilshere is now the subject of snide remarks and being wrote off by Arsenal fans yet do you think he would have played like that on Sunday or went down without a fight?
How can so many players be allowed leave without ever getting a fair go, Gnabry, Toral, Perez, Campbell, etc etc while Ramsey and Walcott and co live charmed lives.
My brother is as mad an Arsenal fan as me and he tells me Walcott and Ramsey know where the bodies are buried and they have Wenger by the balls, and I think he has a point.

5.) 30 Aug 2017 09:54:10
People will only go to watch thier favorite band give a half hearted performance so many times before deciding to spend their time and money else where.
The Emirates will become less and less full as the season continues unless something changes and the club give people a reason to turn up other than out of habit.
It's an expensive day out supporting Arsenal and some people already have found better and more enjoyable ways of spending thier time and money and others will follow.
You can only go through the motions for so long without losing credibility.

Hi,

I don't know if the Ed's can answer this or not, but I am intrigued as to our backroom situation and the way that contract renewals are handled.

We seem to be struggling more and more to get players to commit - Ox, Ozil, Sanchez and other players gone by - but also we seem to have lost some promising members of the youth team in recent years to other Premier League clubs, and recently Chris Willock to Benfica.

Is there something there that will be looked at or is being looked at? It doesn't seem right that even our young players are seeing their futures elsewhere.

Your thoughts on the situation would be very welcome.

All the best.

LS.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea, sorry.}

1.) 25 Aug 2017 13:04:50
We clearly have problems in this respect since the days of Adrian and Fiszman. I assume Wenger gets involved and he has some odd ideas about salaries etc. We seem to give long expensive deals to average players who we them struggle to offload, whilst letting the deals of he top players run down. Injured and aging players also seem to do well contract wise at the club. Whoever allowed the likes of Ozil, Ox and Sanchez to run down to a year should be fired. It will cost us good players we wish to keep and millions I. Lost revenue if they run down their contracts.

2.) 25 Aug 2017 17:08:37
Odd ideas about salaries? You mean the ideas that has kept Arsenal Football Club solvent and performing for the past 20 odd years? Yep definitely odd.

{Ed001's Note - that is not true. You are completely wrong, Arsenal's salaries had no bearing on keeping it solvent or performing. In fact, if anything, they made it more difficult as young players with no experience were being massively overpaid so you could not attract top players and had no spare money in the budget to pay for them due to an excessively large wage bill.}

3.) 25 Aug 2017 17:57:36
Ed001, what young players at Arsenal are being "massively overpaid"? I see wages very much behind the likes of Man United, Man City, Chelsea.

Also, you're saying "WERE being paid massive wages" and "HAD no spare money". This suggests that financials are back on track. Although looking at financials I don't see that it was ever as bad a you are making out.

{Ed001's Note - every young player who signs a professional contract straight out of the academy was overpaid. Arsenal paid the highest wage in English football.

The rest is just you being petty and trying to twist words to make your biased and blatantly false viewpoint seem true. Arsene Wenger has a policy of keeping the wages fairly equal, from youth to top talent, which has meant the bottom end players are overpaid and the top talent underpaid. It has meant the wage budget was stretched during the early years of paying for the stadium, but that financial pressure has lessened as you know, so I really do not know what nonsense you are wittering on about them being back on track or ever as bad as I was making out. I never made anything out, so please do not be one of the knobheads who puts words in my mouth then whines about the blatantly falsehoods they have twisted my words into.}

4.) 25 Aug 2017 18:18:49
Twist words and make MY biased and blatantly false viewpoint seem true? You're kidding right? I asked you a simple question to which you're responding like a child who isn't getting his way.

I never put words in your mouth; I simply repeated EXACTLY what you said but as has been witnessed here on an occasion or two, you become the knobhead you assume others are being. I am all for having spirited debates but you're intentionally being radge, spouting some nonsense or the other about me whining. Get over yourself fella.

{Ed001's Note - no you did not. You did not repeat EXACTLY what I said at all. That is an outright lie. You picked out excerpts, which you then added to with your own twist. You would make a good tabloid hack with that crap.

Intentionally being radge? Speak English, I have no idea what you are gibbering on about now. I am just sick of wasting my time for people to constantly twist everything said to try and pretend it meant something else.}

5.) 25 Aug 2017 19:09:44
Without actually using copy and paste (I hope that wasn't what you expected me to do) , I did in fact use an excerpt of what you typed because quite frankly it was the only thing that interested me. My question was genuine but you decided you wanted to be a knob and you were. Fair enough; but don't suggest it's because I'm twisting anything or lying about anything. That is totally disingenuous.

If you seriously don't know what a radge is, look it up. I believe it's in the ENGLISH dictionary.

Also, I wouldn't want to be a tabloid hack - not when you have that job well covered.

Incidentally, I did some research. Now remember, I'm going to use an excerpt again but don't let that frighten up.

You said, "Arsene Wenger has a policy of keeping the wages fairly equal, from youth to top talent"

From my research, the youth team has a separate wage structure to the first team. Iwobi for instance got a pay increase when he made the first team. Prior to that he was on apparently £750/ week. I can only find wage data for 2015 for the youth team but most of them were on £1000/ week with some on £5000.

{Ed001's Note - your data is incorrect, for one, secondly I did not say youth teams anywhere, I said youth. You are again reading into it more than there is.

As for radge, it is not English, nor would it be in an English dictionary as it is clearly a slang term.}

6.) 25 Aug 2017 19:12:45
Sharpie it's twice now that you have used words from the north! Your not really from Saudi or at least your an ex pat . Radged means daft, crackers in a silly sort of way . Used lots in the north mainly middlesborough down to Whitby no doubt amongst other parts as well. I always get asked what it means if I use it out of a 100 mile radius of those place.

7.) 25 Aug 2017 21:47:35
Sharpie where's do fray? ✊🏻😂.

21 Aug 2017 17:12:18
Hi Ed's - hope you're all well.

I haven't seen any updates though apologies if I am looking in the wrong place for your responses.

Would you mind giving us an update on the rumours that have been in the papers the last couple of days?

Notably those saying that we will bid for Seri, Draxler or Brozovic?

Also, out of curiosity, would you expect us to bring in a central defender before the window closes?

Thanks as always.

LS.

Skywalker-L

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what the papers say so I cannot comment.}

1.) 21 Aug 2017 17:42:26
If Wenger is to be believed then we are concentrating on disposing of players, opposed to signing any. This is worrying as we need a CB and a DM. I can also see Sanchez and possibly Ox going.

2.) 21 Aug 2017 18:35:46
Whatever we do we are bloated with players that are not going to be in the first team and we have to try and move them on. Some people call them deadwood but we certainly need to chop out the wood to encourage new shoots.

3.) 21 Aug 2017 19:10:30
Surplus to requirements will do just fine. Or looking for a fresh challenge lol.

4.) 21 Aug 2017 19:55:44
Players whose initial promise hasn't materialised and thus they are no longer considered to be good enough to grace the first team and therefore should look for opportunities of regular football at another club at the earliest opportunity even if this means taking a sizeable reduction in there weekly wage, its succinct, to the point and rolls nicely off the tongue I think personally Sanogo. 😜.

5.) 21 Aug 2017 20:31:45
I was thinking about words to that effect stoner .

6.) 21 Aug 2017 20:44:20
Stoner, that's long winded, isn't there one word to describe it. Oh wait. Lol.

02 Aug 2017 15:12:11
Hi Ed's,

A bit new to this so apologies if you have answered any of this stuff elsewhere.

Last year we were heavily linked with Reus, do we still hold an interest in him now despite the injury?

Draxler - will he be available now that PSG look set for Neymar? If so, would we be interested?

Finally our defence - Chambers is being linked with a move away which for me would be a shame. I rate him more highly than Gabriel, as an example. Is he really one of the ones that might be shown the exit door?

Thanks for the time in reading/ replying.

LD.

Skywalker-L

{Ed025's Note - 1..no mate that ship has sailed 2..i dont think he will be available even if they get neymar and would probably cost too much, ...3 yes he is, has not progressed as was hoped..

1.) 02 Aug 2017 16:51:02
Draxler would be good to calm the madding crowd that's for sure, if it was possible of course.

{Ed002's Note - It isn't.}

RG, a lot of the time when you comment, you mention your 'belief' in whatever it is that you are saying - 'I believe Wenger is a major problem' - Wenger has little to nothing to do with the contract negotiations, it is handled by the team behind the scenes.

The players may ultimately tell AW 'look I really don't want to sign' - but if you think he handles the day to day workings then you will be mistaken.

As for Mustafi 'standing up to Wenger' - about what exactly.?

If you don't have a rumour and aren't offering support, what are you doing here?
