Just heard on the grapevine Arsenal are in for Manolas from Roma, Szczesny is been used as part of the deal, Martin Keown really rates him so hope it's true.

I don't like criticising younger players too much, but A. N. Miles has not improved at all, since breaking into the first team. He's way too casual, makes lots of errors in dangerous positions and can't defend. I don't rate him in midfield either.

Never really seen him in midfield to any reasonable degree to make a fair judgement Rocky and at full back he's only doing his best in an unnatural position.
For me Guendouzi is the one that will have the brightest future in the game, although only young Guendouzi doesn't need that " he's only young " tag to protect him simply because he is already able to carry himself at premier league level without needing allowances to be made for him.
It's all personal opinion but to me Guendouzi and Marcus Rushford Just have that star quality about them that is obvious from day one.

2.) 29 Jul 2019 10:35:18
He's never really played in the midfield for us so it's a bit harsh to criticise his ability as a CM? Agree when it comes to RWB but he's doing his bit for the team in a position he doesn't really want to play in. His composure on the ball in centre midfield is exactly what we need. Unfortunately, he is just another young player that we are close to destroying and he'll end up leaving to play football elsewhere, and he'll leave for virtually nothing as well.

3.) 29 Jul 2019 10:54:24
Ceballos is only with us for a season so much depends on whether Emery persists with Xhaka or gives Guendouzi and Maitland niles their chance, we've had 3 seasons of Xhaka and the vast majority of fans both Arsenal and neutral plus most pundits don't think he's good enough but both Arsene and Emery obviously do.
Maitland Niles needs game time in midfield this season or to move on next summer for sure, he's to old to be going out on loans he needs to be where his wanted and needed if he's to have his best chance of playing for England and having a high level career at all.

4.) 29 Jul 2019 11:04:05
Hes still only 21, and imo i think he is a midfielder.

5.) 29 Jul 2019 12:07:57
There is no under 23s international football now days Olber mate, once you turn 21 you've got to stand or fall at senior level.
Theo was 29 when he left but in Arsenal terns he was still full of potential, our young players need to expect more from themselves and demand genuine opportunities especially once they are in they're 20s.

I posted after the Sunderland game saying how important it was for us to try and keep ourseleves in contention over the xmas peroid, until we got a few players back from injury. Apart from the Southampton horror show, we have done really well. However the squad is down to the bear bones and with really tough fixtures in Jan, we need to buy a couple of players to streghten the team, as i don't think we can afford to wait until Feb or March for players to come back from injury. I hope we don't waste this great chance for the title.

would the new players not need time to settle in.

Good 3 points yesterday. We didn't play well, the team looked disjointed, the defence looked shakey. But we won the game. I think its all about keeping ourselves in contention over the xmas period and hopefully getting a few of our injured players back. I can't see Wenger buying two or three players in Jan, but surely he has to see that Flamini and Arteta are not up to the job anymore and sign a proven DM. Its the most open title race ever and we won't have a better chance of winning the title than this season.

With more forethought and planning we would be champions elect, just hope its not another one of those seasons where everyone is asking what if we'd?

I think this weekend shows there areno easy games in the PL, give Sunderland credit they were well organised and worked very hard.

Tough game at Palace today. We really need a result and a proper performance from the team. All the talk from the players about being serious challangers for the title, well they need to step up to the mark, starting today. No more excuses, Ozil at his best is unreal, at his worst is a liability. One good performance every now and again is not good enough, same goes for Giroud, Walcott and a few others. Wenger says he expects a reaction after the West Ham defeat, we the fans demand one.

Yep Ed001 I agree pathetic, a bit like getting the entire Liverpool team to line up in front of the Kop after rescuing a last minute draw against West Brom Pathetic.

Rocky7

{Ed001's Note - really? Didn't seem to do any harm to thank the fans for staying the 90 minutes and getting them onside though did it? Pathetic is finishing 8th in the league after spending over £100m in the summer, whereas the team that thanked the fans finished a little bit above that didn't they? I bet you would love to have had that moment in front of the fans wouldn't you? With players that actually give a toss and win the Premier League and Champions League for those fans, who got behind them after that moment. Yep, you really know your stuff little man.}

Wow I can't believe the naive comments on here, we are well past the days of Tony Adams type loyalty to a club. If you want the best players you have to pay top money, we need to offer this guy what he wants, do all we can to get him to sign. This is not an Ozil type player, Auba will deliver for us. He should only be sold if he refuses to sign. We currently have no one capable of replacing him, and how much money do you think it will take to replace his goals.

Auba is a class player, an out and out goalscorer. Our best striker, our best player, we would be in the bottom half of the table without him. He doesn't do as much work as Lacca, but he scores twice as many goals. He's not caused one bit of trouble since he joined the Arsenal. All the Arsenal players and most fans seem to love him. I for one rate him up alongside Henry, Wright as our greatest goal scores. Arteta is right to do everything in his power to keep him at our club. For me he's the best striker, goalscorer in the Premier League.

Rocky7

{Ed047's Note - he’s done nothing to concern me Rocky, unlike Pogba at United who wants out and Salah at Liverpool whose said the same.
