Credit where credit is due chaps, you deserved it yesterday. Battled back well, exploited our weaknesses and obviously Aubameyang is world class.

If Pulisic never got injured, I think we'd have seen a different second half. But fair play and it was good to see how much it meant to people like Martinez.

Just a shame it'll be equally remembered for an awful performance from Anthony Taylor, who did his best to be the main attraction.

Good luck in the Community Shield.

{Ed047's Note - thanks RJ and the ref didn’t shower himself in glory that’s for sure.

Can’t say I was happy with Arteta and some players waving imaginary cards either, that was very poor and was really surprised to see Arteta do it and hopefully he’ll realise it wasn’t good.

Really like the look of Pulisic though, he is genuine class.

Sadly part of the modern game these days. Not going to pretend I haven't seen Chelsea do it- Fabregas used to be notorious for it!

Pulisic is brilliant and you saw how much his injury hit us, reminded me of when Hazard used to be subbed off by Conte and we just folded.

Crucially, it took away the real pace we had, would have been better to bring on Hudson-Odoi over Pedro because the former had the pace to keep Bellerin back.

{Ed047's Note - oh he’s not alone in doing it RJ just didn’t want to see our manager doing it.

Kante was a big miss too as Jorginho is easily nullified mate. David Luiz had Giroud in his pocket which didn’t help you either as he’s been in good form lately but never had a sniff.

2.) 02 Aug 2020 08:36:28
Agreed on both points. I'd back a quarter-fit Kanté over Jorginho. As for Giroud, we should have made that change earlier and got Abraham on, I think if we'd have had the 15 minutes after the red card with Hudson-Odoi, Abraham and Pulisic all running in behind, we'd have created something and it would have gone to extra time.

Thoughts on Auba's post-match interview? Without having sour grapes, it reminded me of Hazard in Baku.

{Ed047's Note - when I saw Abraham’s and Odoi come on I expected problems but they didn’t really give any, like you say to little to late.

As for Auba, who knows, Arteta seems positive but personally I’m not sure at all.

That its not already done doesn’t bode well, the frustration is Ozil sitting on his 350 grand a week offering nothing.

3.) 02 Aug 2020 09:21:35
Auba didn't sound like a man ready to sign a new contract with us yesterday did he! The questions are is he
A holding on to see who else comes in for him.
B holding out for the best possible Arsenal contract
C simply looking to run down his contract and get a supper payday next summer elsewhere as a fee agent.
We have to hope it's B first and foremost but avoid C at all costs.

4.) 02 Aug 2020 10:09:36
We have an option to extend his contract by another year so I doubt he'll go on a free next summer.

5.) 02 Aug 2020 11:37:31
Oh cool Glen I didn't realise that, thanks mate, scub C then :-)

Well lads, place your bets. How many times will Pierre-Emerick Aubameyangadingdong and Derikh Mikhitaryan's names be mispelt on this site?

Micheal terrain.

2.) 31 Jan 2018 12:15:56
The extra money from all the letters on the shirts will help keep Arsenal in profit for sure.

3.) 31 Jan 2018 12:17:28
Infact maybe its Arsenal policy now to only sign players with surnames at least 10 letters long.

4.) 31 Jan 2018 12:06:18
Love whichever Ed did that change!

Credit to your lads for winning tonight, although the goals have used up your quota of luck for this season and beyond.
P. S. Why does Iwobi play ahead of Nelson?

Respect RJ,
Nobody knows mate. We think Iwobi is Wenger's love child. It's the only explanation.

Presumably safe to discount any supposed Chelsea interest as Manchester City saving face/ betting companies trying to earn a bit of cash Ed002?

RJ28P

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about, sorry.}

Pretty much our strongest team out? 😂 Our captain was missing, our first choice fullbacks/ wingbacks were missing, Thiago was missing, Kante played 30 minutes, Mount was missing. Jorginho too.

Just don't understand why Klopp gets a free ride from the media for some quite frankly baffling decisions, like the line-up against Barcelona. Also throwing Carabao and FA Cup matches. And they were 9 points clear earlier in the season.
I agree we've all been poor, but the important thing is CL for revenue and attractiveness. If the transfer ban doesn't happen, I expect a lot of change for us- starting with spending the £120m+ we'll get for Hazard from Real.
