Reports saying PSG representative is in London to finalize Sanchez deal; any indication if there are serious talks or what his price-tag would be?

In my opinion if we have to sell Sanchez, PSG is an ideal destination. Abroad, doesn't strengthen a rival, and high transfer fee. Use that fee and go all out for Lemar or someone of equal talent.

I don't believe for one moment that Arsenal will let Sanchez run his contract down, so having PSG and Man City in a bidding war is paramount. Clearly the club's chase for Lemar is to replace Sanchez. With Lacazette and Lemar, we would have replaced Sanchez's influence on the team. I would like to see a top notch midfield player signed in addition, as we can rule our Cazorla due to his seriousand lengthy injury problems.

2.) 21 Jul 2017 08:35:23
We do need a quality cm player because the Xhaka Ramsey combination isn't exactly an exciting one for us or a particularly worrying one for opponents.
I know people really like Xhaka and want him to be good enough but I'm not sure he is but I am sure that niether he or Ramsey are consistent premier league top level achievers as we stand so both would need to show a massive improvement on what we've seen from them so far to be considered a top quality premier league pairing.
Relying on one of them to make the step up is a gamble but relying on both making that huge improvement at the same time and consistently showing it over a season?
If we don't do something to address the Cmf situation this summer I think it will be a hot topic all next season.

3.) 21 Jul 2017 10:23:38
I couldn't agree more, personally I'd go all out for goretzka from schalke.

4.) 21 Jul 2017 10:48:15
If Arsenal are really interested in Lemar then we should stop mucking about and buy him. After the initial flurry and excitement of seemingly solid rumours and the signing of Lacezzette this transfer window is in danger of petering outline normal.

We should be aiming to sign players like Lemar to supplement what we have, not to replace Sanchez. Why can't we have both?

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Sanchez leaves on deadline day and we don't get Lemar or Mahrez. So basically normal dithering leaves us with with NOTHING. Then, all the people moaning that Mahrez isn't good enough suddenly start whining that we didn't get him either!

5.) 21 Jul 2017 10:54:23
Arsene should do something to address the situation 16 mate, if not it will only be a stick to beat him with all next season.
It's such an obvious weak area without Carzola it would be crazy to ignore it because he simply wants the Xhaka Ramsey combination to be good enough, adding a quality Caz replacement would do a lot to improve our chances of improvement next season.

6.) 21 Jul 2017 11:41:38
I disagree. Xhaka and Ramsey in this 343 formation has been awesome. We've pretty much won all our games since we've had this set up with those 2 in the heart of it all. Xhaka has looked really good in the pre season matches so far offering stability and good passing awareness and Ramsey is a good box to box player. Personally I'd like us to go for R. Sanchez at Bayern if we were to buy any CM.

7.) 21 Jul 2017 14:30:57
Yes agree gunner and d16. It is a problem area. Xhaka is a real worry and Ramsey is very flaky. We need a matuidi and cazorla back.

8.) 21 Jul 2017 19:45:49
No disrespect but after losing to Palace which brought about the change in formation who did we play that wasn't in Arsene's words ( on the beach ) ? Spurs and what happened there?
I'm not saying 3 at the back won't make a difference but we shouldn't think the end of last season is a reliable indicator of how things will work in the season ahead.
Remember how we finished the season when Le Coq became our DM?
Using wins and performances against Sunderland Everton and Stoke at the end of last season as a gage might not be the most reliable way to prepare for the challenge ahead.

Chelsea and Manchester City in the FA cup final and semi final respectively?

Any truth in Ross Barkley talk? Also has Arsenal dropped interest in Adrien Rabiot?

Side note: Thank you to all Eds for giving up their time to give us insights and banter. I'm sorry some cannot appreciate and hold a civil discourse.

Hello

Is there any truth to these rumors that Arsenal has triggered Vardy's release clause?

Spanks.

FicheraGooner

1.) 03 Jun 2016 23:04:32
Well first thing to say is sky sports can't really be trusted. They have which I'm sure when they release rumours has an increase in takings on bets on certain players moving. Also, a couple of years ago they released a ' ' article about Fellaini being in talks with and on the verge of signing with Arsenal. That turned out to be untrue fortunately. But goes to prove they don't necessarily publish the truth, like most media outlets.

Ed, reports say that Rabiot's mother is in London discussing a move to Arsenal. Are these reports accurate and how likely is it that he will make the move during January?

FicheraGooner

{Ed025's Note - rabiot,s mother has a hamstring problem and wont be signing.. :)

1.) 08 Jan 2016 09:14:00
I actually heard that it was rabiot's auntie in London actually looking to fill the vacant physio role at Stamford bridge.

2.) 08 Jan 2016 12:10:56
Ed025 well played :) but any validity in the second part about a potential move for Adrien Rabiot during January?

{Ed025's Note - arsenal have had him looked at fichera, but as far as a move for him in this window i would think it highly unlikely mate..

3.) 08 Jan 2016 22:21:49
Already about to sign the lad from Basil, plus Coq is running, santi back in February, Arteta back now, so can't see any chance of another CMF.

4.) 09 Jan 2016 01:20:29
Elneny is more of a box-to-box and Rabiot is a CDM. Arteta, Flamini and Rosicky are out of contract in summer and I can't see extending their contracts. I think Rabiot would be an excellent long term prospect considering he's only 20.

5.) 09 Jan 2016 23:04:07
I've never seen elneny but rabiot isn't a defensive midfielder.

6.) 10 Jan 2016 19:40:15
Rabiot isn't purely defensive.

First, Eds you guys are awesome and your insight into the industry is invaluable. Now that I have you buttered up.

Would you have any insight into defense targets? I know Sokratis name is being floated around again.

FicheraGooner

{Ed002's Note - Read the posts man.}

1.) 03 May 2018 14:12:20
He done a whole list of targets mate, search up “Ed002” in the search bar and I’m sure you’ll find it, I think he said that the Dortmund guy is a target.

2.) 03 May 2018 14:31:38
Thanks guys! It's been a couple weeks and all I found was banter on manager selections.

Any thoughts on Caglar Soyuncu?

15 Jul 2017 11:00:06
The rumor mill saying Giroud might be sold, will we sell him or is this paper talk?

In my opinion I would like him to stay. He's underrated and is one of the best impact subs in the league.

FicheraGooner

1.) 15 Jul 2017 14:27:54
He doesn't want to be an impact sub.

07 Jul 2017 16:25:49
Is Jean Seri a realistic transfer? He did nice for Nice this year. but seriously would be a good replacement for Santi.

Also I know this is a shot in the dark but anything on Sanchez that isn't tabloid garbage? One day it's he's staying, today Inter is in. just put me out of my misery.

Plus side Sead and Laca were great bit of early business and Ozil talking as if he's staying!

I do think sanchez will drop a bombshell soon and say he wants out.

2.) 07 Jul 2017 18:18:06
Gortzeka for me. The kid is the business.

3.) 07 Jul 2017 18:52:59
I prefer goretska. Lol.

4.) 07 Jul 2017 19:27:09
gorestka agreed with bayern have turned his head tho.

5.) 07 Jul 2017 21:46:22
Screw your steve 😂.

6.) 08 Jul 2017 15:10:06
ceballos i think that is his name. Real Betis player. only 20. destroyed italy in the european under 21.His ball retention and dribbling skills are crazy. Think he is the perfect replacement for santi but michael seri is excellent too but won't come cheap. 35 million pounds minimum.

Per retires next year and his use this year will probably be cup matches or Europa working with the young players. Gabriel is still injured, when Kos isn't playing our defense is shaky, and Holding is great but needs more time. During the Australian tour Elneny was deployed as CB but that can't be a long term solution.

Yeah, I believe he is an upgrade for the starting XI for sure. However to have a target man with his arial presence and that option off the bench will be lost. I think Welbz is better running on to the ball and when played as target takes to long to get his shot off, in comparison to Giroud.

Thanks Ed001. I can understand his decision and wish some supporters show more respect for his contribution. Guess we need Welbz to step in up. Maybe we can reallocate those funds for partial of Van Dijk fee.

FicheraGooner

{Ed001's Note - you have already replaced him with Lacazette.}

Would you have any knowledge on Girouds situation? Reports saying £35 mil offer from Dortmund. I hope hey stays; great attitude and header ability but understand before WC he wants game time and starts.

FicheraGooner

{Ed001's Note - there are a few offers for him to consider, he is keen to move on.}
