Any idea on Wenger’s future with the club? He has 1 year left and I’m sure with the changes happening at management level they don’t want the same fiasco situation where the future of the manager is up in the air and affected us really badly.

Wenger will stay until he leaves in a box, if it was up to him. So the board will have to act but when?

Will anything good come of axing him now. I think end of the season they must act and get whoever they feel best quick as not drag it out all summer like we do with our signings.

D i don't think anything will happen now or if everything goes tits up with no return but if that is the case it has to be the summer. i'm already thinking it could be too late but that's me.

Have you guys seen the Welcome Unai Emery video on Arsenal Twitter. They were showing Arsenal's great managers and Wenger wasn't in there.

Makes me wonder is it a cheeky dig by Gazidas or an error from club's marketing department.

It has to be one or the other. Preferably an error but still very shocking if so.

2.) 23 May 2018 21:44:37
I wouldn't have thought it was a dig because Gazidas was very big on Arsene having a fantastic send off.

Me neither g62. But it’s a crazy error then.

Gazidis has wanted him gone for years. Wasn't easy but shuffling the pack slowing behind him helped.

Mistake or otherwise, Wenger is, and will always remain, an Arsenal legend.

It's been intersting past few weeks with so many managers linked with Arsenal. I will only believe we have hired Emery once it's on club's website.

I never saw Allegri or Simone happening as they are with better teams who are winning trophies. Arsenal doesn't offer them money and control to transform our team into European elite.

Arteta was an interesting one but I had reservations, as in past number 2 coaches haven't worked out well. Ex Clement at Swansea. He was Ancelotti's assistant at Real Madrid but didn't do that great with Swans.

Personally I'm happy with Emery coming to Emirates. He is a big name coach with experience and trophies. He has experience with clubs (PSG, Sevilla, Valencia) which are more or less on same level as Arsenal. He can work with a tight budget, is more of a coach than a manager and willing to accept the new structure at Arsenal. He promotes youth. We can only judge him after the season and what type of backing he receives from the board and players.

- He needs to find the real leaders in the team who will execute his plans on the field. We haven't had a real captain in past 5-7 years.

- He needs to be strong enough to move or bench players who aren't putting 100% on field and training

- He needs to quickly adapt to Premier league as expectations will be set after a disappointing season. Media will be very closely watching him and doing comparisons to Wenger.

- He needs to inject fresh blood in squad and move deadwood out

- Last but not the least, we supporters need to back him 100%

All in all exciting and nervous times ahead for all Gooners.

Agree, i think he is on the face of it a very good appointment and lots to look forward too.

CG he also needs a miracle or magic wand.
