Could we bring in Cesc? I’m sure he would love to and could he be the one to take xhakas place and a player I’m sure would be able to translate emery’s plans in the middle, fat far superior player to Xhaka and I’m sure the price would be right. Thoughts guys.

Browgun1982

1.) 29 Nov 2018 11:07:40
A little bit too regressive a move for me. Sorry.

2.) 29 Nov 2018 14:15:12
No Cesc, no thank you. Angled his move away when we needed him most and he was our captain, burned bridges I'm afraid.

Plus, the Xhaka-Torreira axis is looking quite promising imo, I think they compliment each other well.

Even the hardest Xhaka critiques must admit that he looks far improved this season, although he's still an error waiting to happen at times.

With ME4 and AR8 both leaving, we'll definitely need midfield bodies, but who? Could Emery possibly look to any members of his former club? Maybe the wise Eds could chime in? ;)

Cheers,

3.) 01 Dec 2018 17:39:04
Yes every time for me, Cesc turned down a return to groundhog Arsenal something lots of top players did also because they didn't want to simply go through the motions and pick up an easy pay packet.
The past is the past and an eye for an eye attitude leaves the whole world blind.

{Ed002's Note - Fabregas will be moving but not to Arsenal. He will have plenty of offers and an intriguing one is that Chelsea were approached by one side to see if they would let him go in January and they would step back from being interested in the player Chelsea are chasing as his replacement. But a move to Arsenal is not on the cards.}

4.) 06 Dec 2018 18:41:13
*cough* AC Milan - Denis Suarez *cough*.

5.) 11 Dec 2018 03:43:03
Is Denis Suarez even a similiar player to Fabregas?

You have too admire VVD, what a player! Not only did he take Liverpool to their best season ever in terms of points, help Liverpool win the champions league and showed John Stones up in the game against England! He is now lining up for the French woman’s team, scoring two goals and one a powerful trademark header 😂.

:-) watched a video of the Liverpool changing room after the champions league final, wow that is some vibe Klopp has built there with all those players including the Ox.
They are a proper TEAM and it runs right through the club.
It's not all about the individuals they have at they're disposal it's about what they have become collectively that's most impressive.
I think they are here to stay for a while and it will be as we were again next season with City and Liverpool in their own mini league.
If only we could find someone like Klopp to sort us out on and off the pitch and build such a vibe at our club again.

2.) 09 Jun 2019 21:09:23
Klopp is a great manager G62 and he has always built good teams. Our bad luck is that we are stuck with an owner who is a businessman and obviously lacks the European passion for the game. If he or his management had any ambition, we would have got Klopp when he was available, Pep had himself said he would have liked to managed Arsenal and when he was available the management was happy with the business as usual of getting 4th and passed on both opportunities. Let's give Emery another year and see where we get to.

If we don’t get a top four slot with our run in compared to the rivals then we haven’t improved at all. It should be a formality.

Browgun1982

1.) 10 Mar 2019 20:13:13
Just enjoy the win Mate 👍🏻.

2.) 10 Mar 2019 20:26:13
5 away games out of 8, just makes it more interesting. But we beat utd today, enjoy that mate. Many twist and turns. Hold tight we are back fighting again.

3.) 10 Mar 2019 20:30:06
Nothings a formality.

4.) 10 Mar 2019 22:10:05
Like Banbury said nothing's formality, only have to look at this weekend to see that.

5.) 10 Mar 2019 23:03:52
Liverpool fan in peace.
Well done today guys. I'd much rather you finish 3rd/ 4th
than Utd, Chelsea or Spurs.
3rd place is well within your grasp now. good luck for rest of the season.

6.) 10 Mar 2019 23:54:48
We haven’t improved at all when we were struggling for 5th and 6th last season?

7.) 11 Mar 2019 06:47:31
I did say should, ironically!

8.) 11 Mar 2019 09:44:32
I did have a little chuckle Brow. 🙄😉.

9.) 11 Mar 2019 10:43:53
Cheers LA mate.

10.) 11 Mar 2019 13:54:55
Wonder if they need help dusting off the 4th place party bus.

11.) 11 Mar 2019 15:10:36
Sharpe, they are changing the oil and freeing off the rusty brakes just in case.

01 Jan 2019 04:55:25
Happy new year everyone! So now it’s the first of the year I would like to say to ed02 can you please tell me who ., 😂 haha just kidding all the best Ed’s and posters ✌️.

Browgun1982

{Ed001's Note - Emery? Oh sorry I thought you were asking the first manager to get sacked in 2019.... ;-)

1.) 01 Jan 2019 12:00:43
Ed01, you know if this actually happens, it's going to be very spooky that you said this.

{Ed001's Note - not so sure it is all that spooky as he was not everyone's choice within the club and there is a lot of disappointment with the way he is handling the injuries and the lack of defensive improvement he has brought.}

2.) 01 Jan 2019 12:28:12
Woe it didn't take Dick long to go from hero to zero did it :-) .
3 weeks ago he was the best thing since sliced bread now there are questions about his future?
The honeymoon is well and truly over for Dick that's for sure:-)

3.) 01 Jan 2019 12:39:46
Happy New Year Sanogo, Emery has never been the best thing since sliced bread for me, not a lot of either read or heard about him fills me with any great confidence.

Seeing how appalling we remain defensively I find incredulous.

I appreciate reading he was brought in as he “would tow the party line” may be fake news but somehow I don’t think so.

4.) 01 Jan 2019 12:47:58
Lol give the bloody bloke a chance.

5.) 01 Jan 2019 12:52:28
Yeh I got to say that seems extremely harsh if they are judging him that harshly already, the defence has been terrible, but he was hardly allowed much to change it, got to give him at least a few windows. You think they might be getting trigger happy already Ed?

{Ed001's Note - personally I do not think it is being trigger happy, his record and reputation should have preceded him and the club looked elsewhere. He has consistently had problems dealing with egos and Arsenal have egos at the club. He can't deal with Ozil and Ramsey, I just do not see what he has done that is so good? Even on your unbeaten run there was not one game that you could look at and say: "that was an excellent, well-deserved, dominant win". No matter who you faced you always looked on the verge of a collapse and it was only a matter of time before it all folded.}

6.) 01 Jan 2019 13:02:51
5 months no trophies plus we've never once qualified for the champions league on his watch! How long does does the man want? :-)

7.) 01 Jan 2019 13:47:26
Apart from the Spuds win ED, We were very good that day.

{Ed001's Note - yes but that is one game when you can put aside form etc as they are regularly a blip. Derby matches are ones you can pretty much leave to the fans to get the players playing well in. It shows to me that the team is capable of more than Emery has got out of them on a regular basis. Good point though.}

8.) 01 Jan 2019 13:52:16
Apart from Spurs Ed that is true mate, Dick himself said after the Southampton defeat " we could have lost any of our games so far"
He will get and deserves 2 full seasons minimum before we can sensibly make a fair assessment of his capabilities at Arsenal.
The defence is a huge problem I'm disappointed not to see any progress with and if it's no better next August Dicks second season is going to be an extremely tough one.
He's taken on a huge rebuilding job after inheriting a very poor squad with an extremely poor mentality for work and effort, he needs to show progress but it won't be a Ranieri at Leicester fairytale quick fix that's for sure.

{Ed001's Note - as I said to Banbury, does that not prove he is not getting the most out of the team in the rest of games?}

9.) 01 Jan 2019 14:01:21
Banbury mate I just see lesser teams being way better than us defensively, we now have a pretty good defensive midfielder but like Ed01 said, even prior to injuries we were still on the edge of implosion and we’ve had yet another “Wenger” thumping from one of the big boys.

Why can’t we get basic defending sorted, 5-1 is Liverpool’s biggest win in the league this season and it’s not Huddersfield, not Fulham and not Burnley, it’s us.

I’m just not convinced at all mate. Sorry and it’s just my opinion and I appreciate that he’s only had one window.

10.) 01 Jan 2019 14:36:03
Yes Ed mate it does, the fact that we are so poor first half STILL says something as does our non progress defensively.
I still back him 100% because 5 months is nothing when trying to put right a decade of defensive ildispaline and neglect not to mention the poor mentality that has been plain to see for years too.
Dick may or may not be the man to get us back on track and into contention again but he is certainly a stepping stone away from the past and towards the future no matter if it's him or someone else that delivers that future.

{Ed001's Note - good point.}

08 Dec 2018 17:50:35
Lucas Torriera or Patrick viera not asking for opinions but looking at a player who will dig us out. Scrap us to points that we usually would have dropped. What is it 20 or 21 games unbeaten and surely fighting tooth and nail to the end. A frustrating performance but you can take some good from the game.

Browgun1982

1.) 08 Dec 2018 18:06:25
Torreira is awesome. I believe we were all worried after we lost the 2 opening matches, albeit to Man City and Chelsea. Who would have believed that we would then go unbeaten for 21 matches and counting?
Shame we lost Mustafi with what appears to be an injury that will possibly keep him out for a few weeks. We started the season with Koscielny and Mavrapanos injured, hence the 3 centre backs have had very little rest and clearly fatigue and injury has caught up with them. The positive thing is that Koscileny was back in the squad today, whilst Lichtsteiner and fit again Monreal can also play at CB. Mavropanos should be back in training this month. This week we can rest Sokratis on Thursday.
Well done to Emery and the team today.

{Ed0333's Note - well done indeed mate

2.) 08 Dec 2018 18:32:10
Sokratis will also get a suspension enforced rest against Southampton!
Interesting to see whi we play at CB in that match. Is Koscielny fit enough to play 90 mins PL football? If he is, then perhaps a trio at CB of Koscielny, Lichtsteiner and Monreal?

3.) 08 Dec 2018 18:44:35
Not a beautiful performance but a beautiful result, one which keeps momentum one that day we took 3 points on a day off.

4.) 08 Dec 2018 18:51:19
I think sano the midfield with torreira and Gouendouzi for the future is safe, both today looked to push the game forward and their passing and movement is great. Both like to mix it as well. I think the value of both has sky rocketed. The amount of defensive problems is a worry but it will be interesting to see how we cope.

5.) 08 Dec 2018 19:27:21
Emery will know what he needs and will positively invest in the first team. Just see if we can take this through to January!

6.) 08 Dec 2018 20:06:14
Am I right in thinking Elneny has played CB for us in a few games?

7.) 09 Dec 2018 14:49:49
I think Wenger used him as CB in some preseason games.

06 Dec 2018 20:01:36
Hi ed01. Just thought I would ask for you to do a report on Adriano. When I watched him for those 5 seasons in Italy I thought he was a Ronaldo on steroids. How good was he in his peak and what went wrong?

Browgun1982

{Ed001's Note - I have added it to the to do list for you mate. It is odd his name just cropped up a few days ago with some discussion of just how brilliant he was for a short period.}

1.) 07 Dec 2018 07:54:18
He was jaw dropping good. It was funny because I remember playing PES and you could score from anywhere with him! Completely overpowered. He just seem to disappear. Yes will be looking forward to that Ed.

{Ed001's Note - he was insanely good for a very short period. Big shame that it never lasted.}

2.) 07 Dec 2018 09:14:41
I watched few documentaries about him and how his career and lofe had the worst turn when his father passed away, as reports say they were very close, and sfter his father death he got so depressed and couldn’t concentrate on football any longer and moved back to brazil and joined a gang and gained so much wait.

3.) 07 Dec 2018 10:54:52
Good info that Moe mate and a very good reminder to us all that footballers are just like the rest of us if you strip away the money and fame.
We all struggle at times with different things and none of us are immune from human emotions and at the toughest times we all need good people around us far more than fame or wealth.

4.) 07 Dec 2018 13:13:44
A fair few Brazilians seem to of declined hard and fast.

5.) 07 Dec 2018 13:41:33
During the 2014 world cup a Brazilian coach said because many young Brazilian players are born into terrible poverty and football can be an escape route for them but once they hit a level of financial security they seem to stop progressing. I guess you have to have lived their lives to fully understand why and how it happens.

6.) 07 Dec 2018 19:59:30
Ronaldinho also in truth fits into that bracket! Only a few good seasons (or exceptional seasons) . Kaká also.

Who was it who used to lose it when he got thumbed down sharpie? I can’t remember I used to love doing it! My favourite application of the thumbs down was when someone put a post regarding great human kindness or a terrible event. People used to loose it lol.

He’s more than good enough. I think that people think he’s a player that can win games on his own! If he was a goal scorer you could argue that but his game is in assisting and playing beautiful balls, the problem is he can’t pass to himself . He’s probably sick to death of the lack of movement or the fact that the players behind him constantly loose the ball or try and pump it upfield completely by passing him. If anything he should be more vocal and demand the ball and go and take it, most of the team is not at his level imo.

Here’s an idea, instead of everyone whining about him and using him as not only an excuse as to why we play poorly but now he’s the reason that we can’t spend money how about arsenal buy some players around him that can let him play his game. The guy is unreal maybe struggles with confidence (which is never helped by the constant bitching about him) but we have not had a player of his technical quality since bergkamp.

Browgun1982

{Ed047's Note - Ozil’s best season for me was with Cazorla and Coquelin behind him but the club have yet to replace Cazorla and Xhaka isn’t fit to lace Cazorla’s boots.

But the thing is SW even if the reports above are true, and yes ED01 didn’t rate him that highly your underestimating a young professional player and suggest he will have no motive to improve! Your thinking from your reality but in their reality and someone who has put all those days as a child wanting to play at the highest level and trained and played from that age to suggest that they will take the money and run, is a bit off the mark. Now I’m not for a second suggesting that the levels of money in the game doesn’t have its caveats but it’s a different age. £100 now feels like a tenner then! So it’s relative. The fury is out on my opinion for him atm but it’s not as if he couldn’t go on to be amazing. He’s still very young.

It is progressing that’s for sure! I can’t see why the officials wouldn’t get near the standard but it’s impossible for the standard of the players to get anywhere near mate. I will of course be watching and showing my support especially as one of the starting 11 are from my town.
