So now the Ox turns down Chelsea and wants to go to Liverpool or on a free! So much lack of loyalty after all the injuries and poor performance that we have stuck by him!

Bombay100

1.) 30 Aug 2017 07:01:37
he saw how good Liverpool were they ran by him.

2.) 30 Aug 2017 07:07:51
Ox has been a Liverpool fan since he was a kid.

{Ed025's Note - i hate players saying things like that...who cares..

3.) 30 Aug 2017 07:41:09
No wonder he played so well on Sunday.

4.) 30 Aug 2017 07:52:03
Lol took the words right out of my mouth.

5.) 30 Aug 2017 08:23:57
He is worried he won't get as much game time at Chelsea and knows he's there to replace Moses more like.

6.) 30 Aug 2017 09:41:18
If he goes Liverpool, he won't get in front of Courtinho (if he stays) , Henderson or Can.

7.) 30 Aug 2017 10:32:45
By not dealing with contracts when they have 2 years to run the power rests entirely with the player and hence Isfe is simply dictating his own future. As Arsenal fans we realise that Wenger has complete control and unfortunately he isn't good at many aspects of running a football club.

8.) 30 Aug 2017 12:18:48
Klopp is showing real ambition and now Liverpool are moving in the direction of becoming a force once again plus he's a young, enthusiastic manager. Would he be desperate if let's say LVG or Bilic was there? Players want to be part of something, a movement. Not part of Arsenal becoming an average team.

9.) 30 Aug 2017 07:28:08
If he's holding out for a move there obviously the Ox does Ed025 :-)

{Ed025's Note - thats just an old chestnut for me G62, i dont know why he would want to go there to be honest knowing how well off they are for midfielders and with keita to come and possibly lemar, unless he fancies himself as a goalie mate..

I know I keep mentioning the players we let go but I think players like Syzney, Ox, Giroud, Gabriel, Coq would have made a difference and before everyone says they were crap at least we were better with them and winning more that we are with current crap!!

Bombay100

1.) 04 Mar 2018 21:38:29
I don't think Le Coq was any worse than Xhaka in fact I think he was twice as good as was Ox too at least. Gabriel was 3 x the players Mustafi is and Giroud always gave a shift but was never a lone striker ready to latch onto a slick through ball.
Are we any better without them absolutely not, were we good enough with them it's an absolute no again.
We've just gone from really bad to even worse in their absence.

2.) 04 Mar 2018 22:14:57
I honestly get what you guys are saying. But those players are not and will never be good enough for arsenal. I keep Gabriel mentioned yet he was painfully shaky at the back. I really hope we buy a lot better soon.

3.) 04 Mar 2018 23:15:17
I'm not sure it's just buying better 16 mate i think it's also about getting better out of the players we buy, was Mustafi really that bad when he arrived? He's had a habit of stopping and appealing to the officials rather than trying to stop a goal himself since day one but was he really this bad when we paid 38 million for him? Same for Xhaka too was he always awful or has he simply become awful at Arsenal?
We can but who we want but wants the point of paying a fortune for players to ruin? We may as well buy cheap players.
Until Arsene goes I'd say all spending is a waste of money.

4.) 05 Mar 2018 09:49:04
That is very true 62. It is odd how everyone keeps underperforming here. I kept telling my friend that lacazette isn't as bad as he is coming off. I'm sure it's lack of confidence and lack of service. Now look at aubameyang he is going down the same path lacazette went down. We really do need help and quickly.

5.) 05 Mar 2018 12:35:18
I remember reading an article before city brought ottamendi when it was looking like he was going to Utd saying that mustafi was the better partner in the valencia defence, so I was really excited when we got him! That didn't turn out to be true though! 😂 I was much less excited about xhaka who was a liability before he came always getting sent off! I remember I was a massive critic of giroud as our main striker a few seasons back and we were never going to win the league with him, but we did always finish top 4, he knitted the team together a lot better. benching him and putting Sanchez up front seemed to be when it all went wrong, but probably more down to iwobi and welbeck being Sanchez replacements! If only we had a chance to stick with Sanchez out wide with laca or auba up front!

6.) 05 Mar 2018 12:35:20
It's a shame 16 mate but time has been catching up with Arsene for many years now and each season that passes we get a little worse and a little less competitive than the season before.
Its already a long way back for us but if we let Arsene see out this contract we are simply settings ourselves an even bigger mountain to climb than the one we already face, as we stand I reckon we are the right man and 2-4 seasons away from being in the mix again but with another 12 months of Arsene calling the shots we can add another couple of seasons to that at least.

All, let's look at the bench - you see no options to change the game!

Selling Gabriel, Coq, Giroud and Ox has made us weaker. Say what you like but at halftime if you could throw on Giroud and Ox they would have made a difference. Especially Giroud - he loved the club!

1.) 02 Mar 2018 01:58:29
Would they really. Its deeper than that.

15 Jan 2018 20:45:08
If we look at who we have sold: szechney, coq, Gabriel - in my opinion they are all better than who we have. Agreed?

Bombay100

1.) 15 Jan 2018 20:57:02
I think some people just forget how average and if say a liability those players were for us.

2.) 15 Jan 2018 21:19:01
Arguably we replaced those players, are the ones who replaced them with for more money, better? For me the answer is no. We are in a worse state now than when they were playing, not better.

3.) 15 Jan 2018 22:37:38
I agree Steve. Just for me the last few weeks we've been debating players who have left week who aren't good enough. But neither are a lot of the players in our squad. It's ludicrous how we've got to the point we're debating which average player is the better one. Xhaka or coq. Gabriel or chambers. I know the fee differences come into it before you say that. But that aside none of those players are good enough. That's just on the top of my head. Sure there's more comparisons.

Views please all - Evans vs Gabriel? My personal view is that Gabriel was faster, and younger.

Bombay100

1.) 09 Jan 2018 09:05:09
Selling Gabriel 27 for £10m, whilst signing Evans 30 for £20-25m makes little sense.
Selling Gabriel for £10m, whilst keeping Chambers made no sense, as we reportedly had an offer of £15m last summer for Chambers, who is ordinary beyond belief.
I was heavily criticised for mycomments on Arsenal's defence and DM options earlier this season and I stand by them.
We need to sell/ release and replace: Debuchy, Chambers, Mertesacker (age, high line and lack of playing time has caught up wth him) , Monreal. Holding needs a loan deal to play regularly under a defensive style manager such as Pullis.
We need to sign a RB that can defend and cover at LB. We need a couple of CB's and DM's. Of the players possibly available I would suggest signing Nzonzi and David Luiz (predominantly as a DM, not a CB) . The squad is a mess and I feel Wenger needs to go. We need a top manager such as Simeone or Allegri, not Arteta and I wouldn't want Wenger to join the board, as we need a change of direction.

2.) 09 Jan 2018 09:07:46
He was definatly younger lol. Don't know how much Evans could have done about that 😂.

3.) 09 Jan 2018 11:03:38
I thought you were keen on Evans RG and said it makes sense the other day. I could have misread it though.

4.) 09 Jan 2018 11:30:05
Hi Sanogo - Desperation! Our current CB's are:
Mustafi - Best of the bunch and Wenger nearly sold him last summer
Koscielny - 33 in September and has a permanent achilles injury
Mertsesacker - Retiring in the summer
Holding - Needs a loan deal to a team with a defensive manager, such as Pullis
Chambers - Ordinary and £15m from Palace last summer should have been grabbed!
Monreal - A left back converted to CB and would not be in any of the top 4 teams

Is Evans the answer, possibly in the short term, but we really need a couple of top CB's.

5.) 09 Jan 2018 12:06:42
Ah ok mate I thought I read something somewhere.

6.) 09 Jan 2018 13:35:31
I wasnt upset that we let Gabriel go, as typical of us, he could be fantastic one week and dire the very next. He always had a mistake in him though and for that reason it was correct to let him move on. Perhaps we should sign a player who prioritises defending rather than a player that is first and foremost is comfortable on the ball. It sounds a stupid comment, but we were at our most successful with Adams and Bould at the back, neither of which you would want to step up and start playing the ball through midfield! I actually do like N'Zonzi as a DM option. No guarantee he can cut it back in the premiership, but i could see him play as a DM who could also play as a CB if/ when required, and his height could help make up for the loss of Merts in certain games.

Not quite sure why Per started, his days are up!

Letting Gabriel go was a mistake too and where was coquelin today.
