Not a transfer rumour - but a confir, ed update.

One of my contacts works in Infrustructure, mainly stadiums.

He is currently working on 2 London deals.
1. Tottenham

2. Arsenal.

Silent Stan is planning the following:
New box office
New Mega screens

New Pitch update
- Plan is to make it much easier to change surface so that NFL games can happen.
- Rationale is to potentially move one of his Franchise's to London and share the stadium.

Hence - Stan is not selling the club to anyone.

Billybob

1.) 07 Jun 2017 12:30:43
Stan owns one football team. In LA. It's not moving anywhere, as its transfer from St. Louis to LA boosted his net worth by $2B.

2.) 07 Jun 2017 13:19:49
Interesting - perhaps what he meant then was that he was negotiating the franchise move with another team.

3.) 08 Jun 2017 11:28:16
More likely is that his team will play 1-2 "home" games at Arsenal.

NFL games at Wembley and Twickenham have been very successful. And lucrative.

Ed's any updates on Boufal?

With Mahrez move being blocked and Lille missing out on European football, it might be a good alternative.

Not quite the finished product, but watching him a few times, he has moments where he looks exactly like Eden Hazard in terms of direct / pacey / dribbler.

Billybob

{Ed001's Note - no mate, nothing from me on him sorry.}

1.) 12 Aug 2016 14:15:18
No worries and thanks all the same.

It's a bit of a "better than nothing" approach from me.

: )

Vote:
Jese (Yes)
Yedder (No)

Billybob

{Ed007's Note - To vote in the poll just click HERE.

1.) 26 Jul 2016 15:19:48
No and no.

2.) 26 Jul 2016 15:55:44
Really?

I didn't see much of Jese, but he was supposed to be quite the prospect before his injury.

Just flagging that we are getting near the "realistic target" banter.

Ed - thanks for the poll!

Also - Malaga, I am disappointed, I was expecting Balotelli rumour.

{Ed007's Note - You're welcome mate.}

3.) 26 Jul 2016 16:48:36
The guy or guyscwould be a punt, striker is not a punt area for me, it a do or die slot. not saying either are good or bad, just not reliable to come in and give us more.

4.) 26 Jul 2016 17:05:57
Yedder if you hold a gun to my head.

5.) 26 Jul 2016 17:11:22
To be fair we haven't got the time or patience for a maybe one day he'll be good player. We really need now.

Rumour:

Lyon hae sent a press release stating that they have rejected Arsenal's EUR 35mln bid for Lacazette.

"The reality is that the club Arsenal made an offer worth €35m, which Lyon did not follow up on for one reason: OL will keep Alexandre Lacazette who is irreplaceable and who is one of the main leaders in Bruno Genesio's squad. ".

Billybob

1.) 26 Jul 2016 11:41:46
well that's our last fallback option, i'm going to get my boots shined and head down to the arsenal because there is no way i am going to let giroud screw us over again.

Also that's wenger not going in with another bid for lacazette.

2.) 26 Jul 2016 12:15:02
I am running out of players to wish for?!

And let's not forget we aren't the only ones in the market looking for a CF:
Juventus (Higuain)
Napoil
Athletico Madrid
Sevilla?
PSG

It's all looking very very grim.

3.) 26 Jul 2016 12:58:44
Nice one Laker, let's all get ourselves down to Colney for a trial - got to be a decent striker somewhere on this page!

4.) 26 Jul 2016 13:01:01
Read it early, cheeky stroke from them saying it wasn't the reported 48mil figure.

5.) 26 Jul 2016 13:11:07
How firm is Lyon on not selling? Surely the right bid would get things moving.

6.) 26 Jul 2016 13:35:52
Now I could be wrong. But I'm sure I've seen one of the eds on here in the past. Maybe 001 or 002 saying Lyon can be difficult to deal with. That correct?

{Ed001's Note - correct.}

7.) 26 Jul 2016 14:24:33
Lakerville, what a wand. "no way i am going to let giroud screw us over again. " What are you going to do? Print an A4 banner at home and take it to The Emirates?!

8.) 26 Jul 2016 14:19:24
Do we think Arsene will go back in with a higher offer for Lacazette or turn his attentions elsewhere?

9.) 26 Jul 2016 15:01:36
As above, ED's have always said Lyon hard to deal with, and that money for the deal was the stumbling block. So they are all proven right.

The only thing I can't decide, is if Lyon going public is basically 2 fingers to us telling us to 'go away' - or if it is their way of trying to get an improved offer.

Either way, not very diplomatic!

Ed's - do you know if Lacazette himself or his 'people' are easy to deal with?

Hopefully we have other irons in the fire.

{Ed001's Note - no idea sorry. I would have to check who Lacazette is with.}

10.) 26 Jul 2016 15:05:37
Hello eds. Just wondering, do u think arsenal would improve their offer for lacazette?

{Ed001's Note - I doubt they will want to deal with Lyon to be honest.}

11.) 26 Jul 2016 15:51:19
I really couldn't see us deling with them after that. Arsenal like everything quite. When do we ever disclose a fee? For better or worse Wenger will turn his arse-nal to them.

12.) 26 Jul 2016 19:24:35
By all accounts we haven't bidded.

13 Jul 2016 18:39:51
Eds rarely as the "are we linked with" question, but.

do you know what happpened our interest in Nabil Fekir? I know he missed most of last season with injury, but perhaps he is a more realistic otion for us.

Same question with Boufel - who quite a few clubs wqere looking at recently.

Billybob

{Ed001's Note - I don't know, but it has probably just been shelved until it is seen how he gets on next season. As for Boufal, he has the likes of Southampton after him, I believe they are more likely to sign him.}

1.) 14 Jul 2016 09:31:12
Thanks for the info. Boufal would be a shame - he is a classy player, reminds me of a young Hazard when he was at Lille.

2.) 15 Jul 2016 15:45:54
Ed are we going to sign a striker or not? What about tevez?

{Ed001's Note - you already have, the Japanese lad, Wenger wants one more but I can't see it happening. Certainly not Tevez, in my opinion, he expects too much in wages.}

3.) 15 Jul 2016 15:56:11
The Japanese lad isn't what we needed. I believe it's going to be another poor summer.

4.) 15 Jul 2016 21:16:35
Any update on mahrez? Apparently he's handed in a transfer request.

{Ed041's Note - Ed02 mentioned earlier that he wasn't going anywhere

5.) 15 Jul 2016 21:25:32
Oh i never saw that, thanks. Is there a certain page where i can see if eds have any updates or do i always have to ask questions on the page?

{Ed001's Note - you could try a search on relevant pages for Ed002 or the name of the player concerned, ie Leicester site in this case. The lad did say a number of times he was intending to stay for next season very publicly. Unfortunately the media don't want to run those kind of stories, as they don't sell as many papers as linking him with Arsenal/Man Utd etc. Unless he gets his head turned, though from what I have been told about the lad that is not likely at all, he will be there when the window closes to have a go at the Champions League. Kante, on the other hand, had been quite clear that he would consider offers. Obviously you never know for certain, but it does seem most likely that Mahrez will stay with Leicester, at least until January.}

6.) 15 Jul 2016 21:56:13
We keep missing out on players, kante too, everything seems to have died down with arsenal ed. Are there no developments at all or a list of players?

{Ed041's Note - I often wonder if Arsenal put in enough work during the season to sound out targets. It can be very scatter gun at times. Xhaka is a prime example of that.

7.) 16 Jul 2016 00:41:43
Is carlos bacca of any interest?

{Ed041's Note - I have no idea.

8.) 16 Jul 2016 00:44:55
Nevermind ed i saw on thw West ham page that he's going madrid. But another ed mentioned arsenals interest is somewhere else, what player was it?

{Ed001's Note - for one, there is still the hope of Morata moving, as that is still the plan for him. I will have to check with Ed002 to see who he was referring to.}

9.) 16 Jul 2016 11:45:53
Oh okay, when u find out can u let me know please? Sorry for being a pain.

If Barcelona come looking for Sanchez.

90 mln. Take it or leave it.

Billybob

1.) 02 Aug 2017 16:31:48
Is 90 minutes long enough to do a deal? 😉.

2.) 02 Aug 2017 21:53:30
At least give them 2 hours Billybob.

19 Jul 2017 13:11:39
Just remembered we bought Park from Monaco!

The least they could do is sell us Lemar*

*Who by the way, is cover for Ozil and replacement for Cazorla (NOT SANCHEZ) .

30 Jun 2017 11:03:08
For fun, I started looking at the performance of some of Stan Kroenke's other teams.

It's pretty grim.

For all of Ivan Gladiz's praise during Q&A; our owner cannot be called Ambitous.

Billybob

1.) 30 Jun 2017 14:30:46
Oh I don't know, I mean he did move his NHL franchise away from its home and loyal fan base in St Louis across to Los Angeles based on pure ambition; that it will make his net worth increase!

2.) 30 Jun 2017 15:36:25
No kidding and his son seems even worse so no silver lining in him taking over from his father at some point, the two teams he's president of both have done even worse since Stan appointed him.

Just look att Colorado Avalanche in the NHL from 95-00 (oldest stats i could find) before Stan they finished 2nd on average in their conference.

Then Stan came in and the following seasons they finished 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 9. and it basically just got worse with a couple of 15th places at worst, but those early seasons when he still had the team the previous owners had built made the average league finish under him 7th. And then came president Josh and made it 9th (11th if not for a fluke 2nd place in 2014)

So as long as KSE controls the majority at Arsenal there's no way AFC will ever compete at the level we fans want.

3.) 30 Jun 2017 15:58:29
iv always said we win nothing with stan.

4.) 30 Jun 2017 18:57:00
If only Usmanov owned the club then Arsene would do? :-)
Absolutely everything exactly the same as he does under Stan?
Usmanov would not sack Arsene and Kronke does absolutely nothing to prevent Arsene from doing everything and anything he wants.
He gives the fans the manager they want
He gives that manager all he wants
What more can the man do?

5.) 01 Jul 2017 14:47:11
if he owned it arsene would be gone, plain and simple. usmanov in my opinion would go the extra mile, look at everton since his mate has gone there.

Silly Wenger.

Don't you know you were supposed to be the following for Lemar:

EUR 35,000,001.00.

Billybob

27 Jun 2017 15:36:24
billybob's master plan,

Sell Sanchez to Real Madrid!
1. He's a good player and morata is leaving
2. It will annoy Barcelona
3. We can tell them to LEAVE MBAPPE alone! LEAVE HIM ALONE!

I think we need to be mentally prepared for Sanchez leaving and lacazette being a replacement.

The hope is that Arsenal and Bayern can agree something!

Lacazette is much more like Sanchez than Tomas Lemar. In fact, Lemar is more like Ozil.

Bare in mind Sanchez led the attack for most of the season.

I expect a front three of:
Lacazette
Ozil
Welbeck

With Walcott / Oxlaide / Iwobi as cover.

Perez may leave, in which case wenger make look at one more attacker.

I think that's probably it for the summer unless Ospina leaves.

mahrez
Lemar
Lacazette
Sanchez.

These are all similar players - pacey, wide forwards, with good goals ratios.

We will never ever sign all, we are signing one, and probably to replace Sanchez.

Willy - I hope you are right, but we have seen this too many times.

Our best players having bigger ambitions than the club.

RVP
Cesc
Henry
Cole
Clichy
Nasri (for the best)
the list goes on and on.

Even with Douglas Costa going (likely to Juve) , I think Sanchez will still be unlikely, as they have lots of attackers.

Robben
Coman
Thiago
Kimmich
Gnarby
Muller
Ribery.

I like the thinking and agree.

We need to have a "money-ball" approach. Unfortunately, we need to not make the mistakes of Liverpool, where they were over paying for average household-ish names.

The biggest problem is, can Wenger act fast enough.

He did well with the LB. Now he needs to show intent (not wait on departures) .

Perhaps consider ED002's position.

It's a bit like the cliche of taking children on a long drive and every 5 mins they say:
"Are we there yet"?

----
In this case, it's more like:
User: "Is sanchez going? "
Ed: "Possibly"
User2: "I heard sanchez is going?! "
Ed: "He just might. "
User: "Sanchez to CITY. AH! PLS CONFIRM"
Ed: "sigh. nothing is done, possibly, but too early to say"
User5: "Hi ed, I am new, I just headrd sanchez might leAVE, CAN YOU 100% CONFIRM THIS? "

ED: ". "

Billybob

{Ed001's Note - that is an excellent way to put it! I know that a few times I have been responsible for biting people's heads off purely because it has been the last straw, rather than because of anything they actually did or said as such. It does get too much at times and we can try our hardest not to snap, but sometimes it is impossible.}
