Agreed. Saka going off also ruined any kind of incision we had. Can't have Vieira on one wing and Trossard on the other, gives us no threat in behind. Odegaard and Rice played very well to keep things moving but with nobody moving off the ball we just never made any forward progress. Tomi's strike off the corner was the last moment in the game it looked like we could get 3 points.

Credit to Lens for that superb equaliser though - gorgeous finish.

Lens are 4th from bottom in the French league, weak opponents in reality, that’s a poor result .

Over confidence from Arsenal or one eye on the weekend, we shall see.

Dont think it was anything to do with the City game Ox mate, we were just poor and the setup was totally wrong. Why Arteta insists on slow playing out from the back when we have zero movement upfront is a mystery.

Lens were pressing and pinching the ball in our half with about 6 players all pushing onto our back 4, was a joke and we deserved what we got.

I'm hoping it's a big lesson learnt. We are piss poor against a physical team we needed xhaka n partey last night. Instead we got bullied off the ball. It's always been an issue with us even with wenger at realm we struggled with teams n were easily bullied interting to see how arteta changes that.

Very flat and lacking a true striker. Shows yet again we need a proper cover for Saka. MA has got to refrain from playing Viera in that position he just don’t cut there.

Hope Saka will be ok. Rice seems to be playing with a knock, don’t think he got to or near full fitness in preseason.

We’re just not there yet, if we couldn’t spoil their party still lacking elite mentality.

Needs to find a solution we need stronger medical team n more strength in our depth happy with starting 11 but need some steel players that can put fear in opposition players. I saw yesterday players giving up when they new they were coming in for tackle that’s a big worry for me. Playing players with knocks n not 100% fitness is madness but you have to work with resources you have available. We were all complaining when gabi was not used. Still behind the team and manager need edu to work some magic behind the scenes for a strong January window.

I think we need more physicality up front. As good as Jesus is, the ball didn’t stick when pumped up front yesterday. Teams are constantly allowing us to play in front of them, sitting deep, and then hitting us on the break. Lens will play the same way at the Emirates as they did last night, as does every other team. playing against us. While Haaland is getting all the press for his goals, for me, what perhaps has been overlooked is his physicality and ability in the air. It has allowed Man City to add a different aspect to their game by pumping crosses into the box if required. This gives them something else when playing against those same teams who play the exact same way as they do against us. Suddenly sitting deep and narrow and allowing the opposition to progress freely up the pitch while packing 5 across the back means nothing when Man City can start swinging crosses to Haaland, and I think we need the same. I am not sure Toney is the answer, but someone in that mould would make a real difference to us.
