Steve, you will never convince those negative fans we are in a better place than the last 10 years.

Just over half a year Emery has been our manager and their calling for his head. They we're willing to put up with the "FRAUD " and won't give Dick a chance.

3 points of a CL spot compared to last year.

Pep and Klopp had mediocre first seasons,

Anyway, Emery has my support 100%.

I fully agree Malaga-gooner. Emery took over one of the weakest and unbalanced Arsenal squads that I can recall. His summer signings with limited funds were decent, with the exception of Lichtsteiner, then again was any better RB available on a free?
It wil take some time to repair the damage done over the last decade by Gazidis and Wenger. We need to ship out players that are simply not good enough, such as Martinez, Jenkinson, Elneny, Iwobi, Mustafi, etc. Others will leave as their deals end; Cech (retiring) , Welbeck, Ramsey and Lichtsteiner. Ozil and Mkhitaryan are on contracts that are excessive, so need to be move on if possible. In addition Emery has had to cope with season ending injuries to Bellerin, Holding and Welbeck.
The basis of a squad Emery can work with is there, but we need another 5 or 6 signings this summer, when sponsorship deals with Addidas and the deal with Emirates kick in, as well as a reduction in the inflated wages commitments reduces as players leave.

We are not any better, 3 pointe of the champions league spot doesn’t mean we are any better, we had that lucky long unbeaten run which helped a lot to be where we are.
We were shambles at the back when wenger was in charge and we still are bow Emery is in charge. No organisation at the back and stop with the player been crap. Man u were shyt when Mourinho was in charge and they are a lot organised now, pep first season of mediocrity and was still up there fighting for the league.

Top 6 teams when they changed managers with the same players you always see there some new ideas and organisations especially at the back.

When ozil had a year left on his contract everyone was saying just bloody pay him what he want he’s worth it, now with Emery bad treatment he is been slammed even when not playing.
We all wanted Micki before he goes to Man u now he’s nothing.
How about these player are not managed to thier ability and skills.
Sort out the defence and the midfield behind ozil and let him do his wonder to feed lacca and auba.

Yesterday all we did was defend we had 10 player behind the ball and they still went through us.

As I’m seeing now, its not about who’s at the back anymore its about how we are set.

About Lichtsteiner he’s always been a top class at juve, he know how to defend, its not impossible he forgot it when he moved to us it’s not impossible that suddenly he doesn’t know how defend especially that italian teams are the best at it. Its how he is told what to do and follow his manager tactics.

And there we have it :-)
No one has called for Emery to be sacked to my knowledge, I certainly haven't and I've not read one post ( apart from an early joke post after opening day of the season ) .
People are allowed to complain about be disappointed in and be disillusioned by plus have doubts Dick without wanting him sacked.

There is no improvement our defence is as awful as ever it was under Arsene so what are people supposed to be? Thrilled about it :-) There would be something very wrong with our fan base if we were happy just to change the face of our manager and not the results and performance of our team.

Chill out loyal Dick defenders, put away your capes and open your eyes, just because a couple have a row it doesn't mean they are getting a divorce and just because people criticise Dick it doesn't mean they want him sacked.
People voted for change and so far there is zilch so it's only natural for them to doubt the man who so far has achieved no improvement in the slightest with our defence or anywhere else come to that.
Allow people to be disappointed without accusing them of wanting the manager sacked, you never know this time next season you might be one of them :-)

Agree malaga, just saying, six months in, and unlike last season we are still in a position to challenge top four. Loads of injuries but Dick isn't coming out with any excuses, just getting on with it. Even yesterday, under wenger we would have got hamered 6 or 7 with all our defenders out. It wasn't pretty at all in fact it was bloody awful but until the hand of agg we were in the game. But for me yesterday didn't matter, how many team are going to go there and win? Or even draw? . Even with a patched up defence, i expect a good February and to still be in touch with the top four. I don't think we will get top 4 but that wasnt an expectation for me this year. i'm just so happy that we have a manager that is actually proactive at so many things and might actually manage to turn round the dross that was left.

5.) 04 Feb 2019
04 Feb 2019 14:18:04
You are spot on Moe mate, our players might not all be great but they are all capable of a great deal more than either Arsene or Dick have got out of then so far.
Our organisation was terrible under Arsene and it's terrible under Emery, it took me ages watching yesterday's game to work out what formation we were supposed to be playing and who was supposed to be playing where, unfortunately I think the only people who were struggling to understand yesterday's tactics more than me were our own players.
Dick really does have to simplify things so the team can walk before its asked to perform gymnastics and triple whatevers.

04 Feb 2019 14:19:40
Malaga, lich is turning out a poor signing but the fact that our defence had been left untouched for 10 years and due to injuries, yesterday our back three total age was 100, we were away at citeh and until the handball goal were actually still in the game, is a miracle in itself. i'm not trying to convince anyone, just being realistic. After the last 5 years its like a pools win. Lol.

Malaga, “You will never convince those negative fans” 😂😂😂😂.

04 Feb 2019 17:11:27
I don't think any manager could improve the defence we have atm guys emery is trying his best with what he has after nmthe summer window with his players brought in if we're still bad then maybe you could say he isn't good but after 6 months for me is a it harsh.

9.) 04 Feb 2019

04 Feb 2019 18:44:39
I say sack Gareth Southgate too! He’s had a couple of years and no World Cup! 😂 haven’t commented for a couple of years but have to defend dick, you can see he lives and breathes football once he’s given some funds then we can judge. Good to see some old faces still here.

{Ed025's Note - nice to hear from you 337, he does need time but it is the same old arsenal with the same old failings mate, poor defending and overplaying the ball, when he gets his own players in hopefully that will change..

11.) 04 Feb 2019
04 Feb 2019 19:02:42
337 welcome back.

12.) 04 Feb 2019
04 Feb 2019 19:07:44
Good to see you’re still here 025 I guess you’re still an Everton fan? 😂 my point is unfortunately there is only a small percentage of our players that will adapt to his game, the others just physically can’t and he can’t teach them to.

You can see by the few signings he has made what he is trying to achieve, they all have fantastic energy and demand the ball wherever they are (maybe not Lichtsteiner lol)

{Ed025's Note - unfortunately i am 337, i think you are 4-5 players short and fear that if top 4 escapes you then the money will not be there to address the issues mate, its not a quick fix and attracting top players without the lure of CL football will be very difficult..

13.) 04 Feb 2019
04 Feb 2019 19:10:19
Hi 737 mate howz you? Grate two here from you gessa :-)

15.) 04 Feb 2019
04 Feb 2019 20:05:22
Dick is going to need another 3 transfer windows and £200 mil at least, he will get the 3 windows but can't see him getting the £200 mil.

{Ed025's Note - knowing kronke, the 3 windows he will get will be from safestyle uk..

16.) 04 Feb 2019
04 Feb 2019 20:13:42
It does make me laugh how this time last year according to many on here myself included absolutely anyone could get more out of our players than Arsene could because Arsenes out of date tactics and inability to organise and motivate our players was our biggest problem, turns out we were all wrong and Not absolutely anyone could do better than Arsene with these players even with 3 very useful additions in Guendouzi Torreira and Papa we've found someone who can't organisation motivate or come up with any better more successful tactics than Arsene could come up with.
It's ok saying what Dick is going to do after next summer but so far at least with the same if not better players than Arsene had there has been absolutely no improvement in performances.
Dick needs to be given two seasons minimum but with 25% of that minimum period gone it's very much as we were last year, and the year before that and so on.

17.) 04 Feb 2019
04 Feb 2019 20:46:37
I think too many are misunderstanding the point, defencively we are not organised and its been this way from day 1 and nothing changed.
Lets get on with this season and see what will the summer bring us.

18.) 04 Feb 2019
04 Feb 2019 21:10:16
I think that's it in a oyster shell Moe, from day one we all expected tings to be chaotic as Dick tried to change things especially at the back but I don't think anyone thought there would be absolutely no progress by the first game of February, it's not the pace but the total lack of progress that's a real concern.
We all knew it could take 3 or 4 goes at finding Arsenes peflrfect replacement and although it's to early to say definitely one way or the other contestant number one isn't doing contestant number two chances any harm at all so far :-)

19.) 04 Feb 2019
04 Feb 2019 21:26:14
The difference is gunner, i had no confidence in wenger, i have in dick. My time with wenger was done and dusted, my time with dick has just started. I can see major differences and changes, i'm confident with a little luck and patience he will get it right. The difference is he is a coach and his phylosophy isn't getting through to some, some aren't good enough and some are just plain injured. that's the life of a manager. I actually think he is dragging us out of the dark ages but with coaching, sometimes it doesn't work straight away becsuse you only need a couple of elements missing and it goes pete tong. Wenger changed absolutely nothing, never mixed it up, always subbed at the same time, relied on the same players making the same mistake, never subbing them. From a coaching pount of view, i can see what he is trying to do, from a player point of view, some are not on the same page. The only one of his players shall we call them, is lich, the rest are doing well. The players that let him and his system down constantly are what he inherited. i'm realistic enough and patient enough to give him some slack. You learn a lot from making mistakes, you learn nothing from doing the same thing. Plus i honestly am happy we haven't slipped anymore and at least stayed the same. We were turning into a mid table team and i know how hard it is to get a mid table team into the top four.

04 Feb 2019 22:02:57
Hey 337 mate, how you doing? Good to see you back, I’m actually all for giving Emery at least another 10 days but after that I’m done! 🤪😂😉.

21.) 05 Feb 2019
05 Feb 2019 02:13:37
Steve, our major weaknesses were - being defensively naive and being caught out playing a stupidly high line, leaving people unmarked in the box, full backs pushing on to much, left exposed at the back, caught out on the counter attack and a general lack of organisation. Another - pressing the opponents to win the bell back. Another - a weak underbelly. Another - no tactics . Lastly, not addressing our main issue in our team in the transfer windows.

Where have you seen “major differences” and where have you seen he has the horsepower to resolve this when he’s done nothing in over 6 months.

Outside of blind faith - what’s he done at our club to show he’s got what it takes

For me - nothing. BUT I will give him time but I would be a lot more patient if I saw some improvement.

Get your rose tinted specs off and be honest about the progress. You were quick to pull me up on my rose tinted glasses with Wenger and I had the grace to agree with you or support my position to a certain point.

You keep posting that we’ve improved and improved greatly - what am I missing

Don’t confuse this with I want him out or being harsh etc . Anyone could get top 6 with our squad so that’s not improvement. Everyone was saying they could do better than Wenger on defence and tactics - well why isn’t Emery?

22.) 05 Feb 2019
05 Feb 2019 04:59:52
It’s not about wanting Emery out, but I haven’t seen anything in him yet to say that he’s is the one who will take us forward. He’s is a lot more reactive. And I still think he’s confused about what philosophy is he going to follow. Klopp or Pep knew what they wanted to do and of course they were backed up with lot of money. Is Emery a right person to provide the limited arsenal finances to spend? I’m not sure yet.

23.) 05 Feb 2019
05 Feb 2019 05:34:54
He has an impressive managerial record sen, at clubs with limited finance. Time will tell.

{Ed001's Note - let's be honest, you just love him because he is not Wenger. His managerial record is not that great. He took over a Valencia side that was battling for a top 2 place in Spain, with a team including Davids Silva and Villa and finished 6th, 3rd, 6th and 3rd. You have to remember this was the days before Atletico emerged as a power in Spain. So twice he finished where he should have, Valencia being the 3rd biggest club in Spain, and twice he was nowhere. Then went to Spartak where he was abysmal. Went to Sevilla and his only actual success, when he won the cup no one else actually gives a stuff about and most teams actively try and get out of in the early stages - the Europa League. Then he went to PSG and couldn't handle the job.

Emery has not got an impressive record, he has not shown any signs of being the right man for Arsenal at all. In fact what he has shown throughout his career is a total inability to deal with egos. He is 15 years behind the times with his management, so that is about 15 ahead of Wenger, but that is all he has to recommend him, is that he is a few less years out of date in his coaching methods.

The only real success he has had is as much down to Monchi's and Sevilla's excellent recruitment as it was down to him. Now that you have lost your only decent quality member of staff, in Sven Mislintat, you are not even going to be able to help him out on that front.

You know who does have an impressive managerial record steve? Arsene Wenger. Now his is impressive. Emery's is ordinary.}

Sy, your moaning is getting boring, your posts are just moans. don't slag me off if you have no patience after the crap we had to put up with under wenger, you soon forget the 10-2 and the 8-2s. I have stated numerous occasions where we have improved, in my opinion. What ever anyone says on here, we are not any worse and for that i am really greatful. This club was in massive decline, wenger had turned a massive number of fans against him, his buys were a joke and so were his lame excuses. I said at the start, i would give the bloke time and that is what i will do. The defence is a huge concern but for god sake, its been ravaged by injuries and was that on sunday our first choice, second, third or fourth choice defence, i'm not sure a back three totalling 100 years old is Emerys 10th choice defence. The few games and i actually think it was one and a half, where we had the best combination so far, we looked good. But the truth is since November he hasn't been able to call on more than two first choice, sometimes one or none. Slate the guy when he has had a fair crack but don't just winge for winging sake. If by next season we are not looking more secure, i will be joining the Dick out brigade but until then i will cut him some slack. You may or may not have noticed, i don't change my mind easily, i give things a chance. i'm supporting Emery because he is giving everything to the cause and he's got enough previous to hope he can turn it around. I am at the moment blaming the players, at some point, if it doesn't change after a fair go, i will blame the manager. I haven't got rose specs, i can see the sh*t he has to rely on sometimes.

Ouch ed01 😂 I’m sensing dick stole your lunch money at school or something! Glad to see you still say it how it is, I’m off for a year or 2 again now.

{Ed001's Note - no mate, I have no problem with Emery other than him being vastly overrated by people with little idea about him.}
