Rumours of Sanchez exchanged for Aguero, which would be ideal, but highly unlikely to happen. However, if it were to happen, I believe we should also sign Lacazette, which would give us awesome attacking options. Of course in this scenario we would sell Giroud which would leave us approx £30m out of pocket for the deals, which wouldn't be too bad.
Assuming we sell Ospina £5m, Szczesny £10m and Martinez £5m, we could use the funds towards purchasing Jack Butland, who would probably cost at least the £30m Everton paid for Pickford. This would add another £10m to our spending. We also need a replacment for Cazorla, which could cost £25-50m, depending on who we sign. This would mean an outlay in the above model of somewhere in the region of £100m. To offset this we could recoup; Jenkinson £5m, Campbell £7m, Gibbs £10m, Debuchy £0, Perez £15m and Wilshere £15m - Total £52m. A net outlay of approx £50m isn't too bad in today's market. In reality, of course, the above won't happen, but Lacazette and Butland are possibilities.

The bottom half of your post we are getting rid off good squad players just to get some cash back and bring in none, so that would leave us with a worse squad, not happening.

Jelly - 2 of the players were out on loan last season, 2 of them barely played and we have signed a new left back, Kolasinac, so Gibbs is surplus to requirements, we have Montreal as back up.

Cant see City even considering this although to me on paper both players have around the same sort of value if their contacts were on same length, so swap seems feasible in that terms. Yes Aguero is the better goal poacher but he is injury prone while Sanchez in the not the same sort of box player that Augero is but is physically tougher. If was offered this I would take I personally, especially if we got Laczette aswell would be a lot of goals in the side then.

Wenger has said time and again he sees Monreal playing as a LCB in a 3 man defence. Kolasinac and Gibbs are the only LB/ LWB players we have. There is no 'surplus to requirements' on the left side of defence.

Both fair points Ryan and 254.
In reality are city really going to let Agureo go if they don't need to?
Would Ageuro really swap champions league and a club who have a proven record of being premier league contenders for the Europa league and a club that hasn't been premier league competitive for over a decade?
Would Arsene really accept letting his always ready to pkay prize asset join city in exchange for a player who has struggled with fitness for lengthy periods?
This is a non story made up by a lazy journalist who fancied an easy Monday.
