Just goes too show how broken football is if a player can just decide to not play or turn up for training, in any normal job you would be sacked. When did players have so much power over a club? Payet saying he wants too leave which there's nothing wrong with that but to just stop playing because they won't let you leave is so childish, he agreed to the contract etc so why should he be allowed to get away with this? I think they should get a ban for not fulfilling their contractural duties.

I agree it's filthy behaviour and I just don't get it - if you want an out, don't act so unprofessional in public - but, as I understand it, breaching contract does at least usually result in a hefty fine for the player.

It's the clubs fault for making the fines so small. if your penalty for paying the rent late was only one pound you'd be paying it late every month

Didn't bosman ruling come in because players whose contracts expired still couldn't go to teams they wanted to go to because the selling club would not agree to let him go without a proper fee, then it was the clubs acting wrongly now it is the players, just changing times my friend nothing else.

We over analyse it because of the media spotlight! This happens in all walks of life. I don't think fining him is going to help. Any club who find themselves in this possition really should just sell asap and try and get the best they can in terms of money received and replacement . There's no point in dragging it on get shot and buy payet a tube ticket to Finsbury Park 😂
