I think your 100% wrong branding Belerin as having a poor attitude mate, the lad works tirelessly even if not always brilliantly.
It's unfair to class him in the same group as Xhaka who isn't mobile and often looks disinterested, for all his failings it's not fair to brand Hector lazy because that simply isn't true.

Gunner bellerin, when his defending job is needed is downing tools. I actually don't think he's upto it, rather than an attitude problem, i actually think he can't defend and never has been able too. The lad looks lost and out of his depth, being kind.

Disagree on Bellerin. He's often given little cover by the right winger and is tasked with getting forward.

Should have had an assist for Auba too.

Two of the goals came from right back. Its funny last week niles was supposedly exposed but the minute lich came on he wasn't, why? Because he can defend. Being exposed and being innept at your job are teo different things. Ask yourselves why didn't our superstar right back who had the world at his feet not go to the world cup, even as back up. Because he isn't that good.

I thought Belerin looked very good going forward yesterday and when it came to defending which Arsenal player did have a good game?
Sometimes you've got to remove those preconceived glasses to stand any chance of ever seeing things differently to what you've already made your mind up to believe no matter what someone does.

One moment I thought was shocking yesterday, bellerin stormed up field, lost the ball, stood hunched over for a few seconds, catching his breath, then ambled back and was no where to be seen when a cross came in from his wing! If you can't get back don't go forward!

Gunner, my opinion is bellerin is part of our problem, he was last season and is this. His positional sense is non existent and he is an awful defender. The sooner lechenstiener takes his place the better for arsenal defending.

Eden, he finds energy to sprint forward and he doesn't work hard enough on the job he is actually on the pitch to do and that's defending. He finds it beyond him.

It's unfair to blame Hector when you look at what ManC and Chel had protecting their FBs - Mahrez/ Sterling and Willian/ Pedro - we played 3 number 10s behind Auba - 1st week Walker takes on Mkhitaryan, Niles gets injured trying to help. Yesterday Alonso had a field day - i would rather play Welbeck or Nelson out there knowing they can put in the shift. We're demanding too much of our FBs - provide width, get caught in a 1 vs 2 but still defend.
Crazy too to play a high line w/ o pressure on the ball.

Eden " if you can't get back don't go forward " has always been my motto for defenders, a full back is primarily a defender not a winger.
The problem comes when people moan when a full back doesn't offer enough going forward if he does his job at the back properly and vice versa, we need to be realistic of what people can possibly do and being in two places at the same time is impossible for any player, well I say any player, maybe Kante but apart from him it's impossible :-)

Gabo, my opinion is, even if bellerin had the "protection" you say, his defending is not resolute enough, he would still struggle. He isn't an out and out defender. I have said it before he is a right footed kieran gibbs.

Id say with Bellerin its more of no protection and no leadership next to him or in the team in general. let's not forget he is still a kid! He could learn a hell of a lot from watching litch play 10/ 15 games and then give Bellerin another shot. For me he always shows commitment and he is possibly behind Nacho the most mobile and highest working player in our team!

Nacho isn't brilliant but for the time being, is at least reliable.

I think for you Steve mate once the dye is cast that's it, no going back no room for other possibilities other than what you've already decided upon.
Sometimes it's good to look for what a player does right rather than wrong just for 90 minutes and it really is possible to come away with a different opinion than you had before, it doesn't always work but it's worth giving it a real genuine go mate to see if there might just be something you've missed.

{Ed025's Note - just like you have done with xhaka hey mate?.. :)

Hi Ed025 mate, yeah I really have.
I watched him contantly for 90 minutes in the world cup trying to see something that those who really rate him see, I saw one excellent long ball pass but most of the time he seemed to spend 20 yards either side of the halfway line totally uninvolved.
I watched Mesut for 90 minutes once just concentrating on him rather than the game itself and was really shocked how much work he got through without the ball so hoped watching Xhaka might have a similar positive effect on my opinion but unfortunately it didn't work out that way.
It's easy to miss stuff during a game so if you really don't rate someone but others do then I think you owe it to yourself to at least try and see something you may have missed.

{Ed025's Note - that seems fair G62, im not his biggest fan either but he must have something as he was picked by arsene and now dick, and im sure they know a bit more than we do about a players worth mate..well i think so anyway..

Mate I'm with you 100% Arsene paid 34 million for him and for Arsenal that's huge so he must have seem something in him, some fans think he's great and I've even found a few fans of other teams who genuinely rate him but when you ask why they simply seem to say his long ball passing and his powerful long shot!
Is that really enough to make him a pro let alone 34 million worth of pro? I guess the answer is yes for some people it is but I look at what he does and doesn't contribute to the team and just can't see how 2 or 3 long shot goals a season justify a regular starting place in any side on their own.

Gunner, i don't suffer fools, i like to think i have the type of player in my mind i like and if a player doesn't match it, i have no time for them. i'm not always right but i know what type of player i like. Usually brave but also forcefull. Top players usually are single minded and have winner in their aura allied to consistency. Bellerin doesn't fit any of those traits for me. In fact he disappoints me far too much for me to get on his band wagon .
