Ed, a lot of talk about our defensive signings. I think we still need a good winger who can turn defence into attack very quickly and make us faster going forward.

Are we looking at any particular players, I saw us linked to Lucas Vazquez from RM but that seems far fetched.

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Arsenal making any approach for Lucas Vazquez who Real Madrid will be willing to let go but they may want to try and use him as a trading chip in any transaction including players as part of the deal - an idea they are keen on this summer. There is also interest from elsewhere. In terms of other players I think the list remains pretty much as was:
Gelson Martins (RW) - Gelson Martins (RW) - interest is growing but there is also interest from elsewhere
Riyad Mahrez (RW) - Manchester City are now looking at another player so there is the potential for something to happen if the new management want
Malcom (RW) - I am doubtful he would move to Arsenal unless other clubs step away
Christian Pavon (RW/F) - Arsenal may turn to an old Wenger target but there is interest from elsewhere
Goncalo Guedes (RW) offered to Arsenal but they know that PSG have turned down a €40M loan to permanent offer from elsewhere and are offering him to other clubs at a higher fee - about double - player wants Spain
Andrija Zivkovic (RW) - priced out of a move
Ademola Lookman (LW) - has been watched at RBL but Arsenal won't offer guarantees - nor perhaps Everton - and the need for a LW as a starter has drifted
Emil Forsberg (LW) - hot and cold performances this season and a Wenger target - probably not
Steven Bergwijn (LW) - a wildcard - don't lose sight of him but no more than cover in the EPL at this time}

Thanks Ed, appreciate the info. Good to see we are looking at options up front also.

Have a great Sunday.

{Ed002's Note - I would only expect one.}

Thanks Ed. Some names there I wouldn’t mind seeing included in our squad. Hopefully Martins, Vasquez, Mahrez or Pavon are seriously under consideration 🤞🏻 Although, based on the rejections last time out I don’t see Arsenal pursuing Mahrez.

{Ed002's Note - This is what it is.}

Brilliant info as always Ed002. Interesting to see no mention of ousman dembele, guess it was all paper talk then? Also the names are all of sporadic/ rotational players. The marquee type signing won't be made this window maybe! What do you guys think?

I would say if we signed guedes, malcom or mahrez they would be pretty marque, the fee certainly would be- probably breaking our record. And in our current position with no champions league pretty good.

Who would you all prefer out of this list? My first choice would be Pavon but I don't think there's a team in the league that would turn Mahrez down. Only thing would be the price - whatever Leicester are asking is probably too much.

Ed002. You have said the need for LW startee has drifted. If I may ask, what made you think so? Lucas Perez? Or th thoughts on formation? I don’t believe we have an outright winger to play in the left or right. Your thoughts are highly valued and appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

{Ed002's Note - The need for a RW is seen as more of a priority than on the left given that if a 4-3-3 is played Aubamayangadingdong can play on the left, Iwobi is versatile enough to play on the left, any RW added will be versatile enough to play on the left. In the view of someone still with the club, albeit in Russia right now and slightly concerned about his future, most of this will be down to Henrikh Mkhitaryan being played on the right rather than centrally.}

any truth to Lozano rumours Ed?

would be a perfect addition, right age, solid workrate.

{Ed002's Note - Hirving Lozano was certainly of interest to Wenger at Arsenal and Allardyce at Everton - but it is not clear if that Arsenal interest remains from last year.}
