Kroenke better get his cash out before Thursday because i am not happy he’s getting the club, should have been him that went before Wenger. RIP ARSENAL.

Agree2 Disagree1

Funny, a lot of people think like that. let's hope we are all wrong because i fear for us. We have only gone downwards since he took us over. Where will we go when he has full unequivocal control.

07 Aug 2018 22:19:18
Why does it have to be downward and not upwards?
Why is it not possible that the Stan and Dick double act to prove to be yet another turning point that sees Arsenal re-emerge as contenders.
You've got two choices boys, spend all next season looking for all possible reasons to support your doom and gloom predictions or be open to the fact that you could possibly be wrong and all might just turn out ok.

Gunner, i think Emery will be pissing in the wind but i'm hopeful he can improve us. The kronk situation is far from ideal, i'm going on his record and KSE lack of real success. I never wanted him in the beginning but now he has assumed full unchallenged control, it does not make me think automatically, this is for the best. I don't see what he is going to do that he has done before with us or any other team he possesses, that is going to be for the better. He has blatantly admitted, he didn't buy arsenal to win trophies. I think its a bad day for arsenal football club as a force on the pitch. Still i could be completely wrong andd he has ambitions to really make us an elite world super power, that puts performance on the field as the top priority.

Maybe his son will have a different idea of what Arsenal are to be?

I cannot see much change as Kroenke takes full ownership of the club. The club has been run reasonably well whilst he has been the major shareholder and I don't expect much to change.

08 Aug 2018 04:59:17
Kroenke's other teams:
LA Rams (left St Louis on the hook for a partially completed stadium after years of terrible performances)
Denver Nuggets (missed out on playoffs last 5 years in a row)
Colorado Avalanche (6 consecutive first place finishes and 2 Stanley Cup wins before Kroenke took over; consecutive failures to make it past quarterfinals or even qualify for playoffs after Kroenke took over)

Let's be honest, the only thing Kroenke cares about is skimming funds off the top. Whether he cares about the club as anything but a financial entity - which TV money virtually guarantees, by the way - is very obviously a big no.

{Ed0333's Note - you have to give the guy the benefit of the doubt. He’s gonna be in soul charge now maybe he'll surprise you? At least give him a chance before you malign him.

I was Arsene out simply because he had demonstrated time and again he had lost touch with what it takes to be competive in the modern game.
If Arsene had stayed on this season I would felt extremely negative about the season ahead but if he'd stayed on and accepted help by bringing in a top quality number 2 with new ideas Arsene was prepared to accept and work with them my attitude would have been different.
Stan and Dick haven't failed repeatedly yet simply because along with the new backroom they form a brand new set up that unless you are phycic or time traveler from the future none of us know what they can or can't produce together.
Change is here and we need to give it a chance not simply dig our heals in because we don't like the who owns the club.
We can look for the improvements that come this season or we can look for the same old problems and take great pleasure in highlighting everything that goes wrong as being down to Stan, it's a personal choice but I can't see the point of wanting change only to be negative about it without giving it a chance first.

Ed0333 - don't have much of a choice but to trust him, but he was effectively in sole charge before anyway. Usmanov was not allowed at board meetings and given no input, and Kroenke had virtually unrestricted power as he controlled the rest of the shares up to 97%. As you say, I don't know how it will turn out, but my gut feeling is highly negative.

{Ed0333's Note - I understand your scepticism but until he’s given the opportunity to display his true colors it’s folly to label him as the big bad wolf. Listen I’m not saying he’s gonna turn into Sheikh Mansour overnight and start spending billions on galacticos but he may well surprise you mate.

We've never seen Stan without Arsene calling the shots and advising him.
Now we have Dick and Sven working with Stan and Stan junior so let's wait and see.
It's a completely different set up now and a world away from Arsene trying to be a jack of all trades running the club virtually single handedly.
We should give change a chance especially those of us for moaned kicked and screamed for years for it to happen.

08 Aug 2018 20:43:54
I agree 62, how can we possible condemn what we have before we’ve seen it perform . I think a few are being a tad harsh and impatient.

09 Aug 2018 00:51:45
I should also clarify that the club no longer being an entity that was at least in part fan owned and fan accountable is partly why I'm depressed. Stan as an owner won't change much compared to Stan as majority shareholder, but something we had a real stake in, something we co-owned, is now gone and it is a little sad.

08 Aug 2018 09:52:08
People saying it might be different, the man isn’t going to change just because he has full control it’s going to be worse, I hope he does change and pump millions but I can’t see it.

09 Aug 2018 16:57:14
Hang on a minute CB, what’s going to be worse, we’ve spent 70 odd million more than some clubs . He doesn’t control what happens on the pitch .

We were rubbish last year because of one man.
