Not another old codger.

I don't know whether Carlo is the right choice. He is still a good manager, and used to winning, but I think his last two jobs (RM and Bayern) have aged him. He has lost that spark and we need someone with more life in them I think. My pick would be Jardim, but Tuchel, or Sampaoli after the WC, would be great too. I can't think of any current or former prem league managers who suit the job.

Sean Dyche?

11 Jan 2018 12:25:13
Leonardo Jardim could be the perfect successor.

How about Giovanni Van Bronkhorst. Ticks the ex-player box. and currently very successful, although dutch managers not exactly had a good recent run in the premiership!

There was a rumour that the reason why Dortmund let Tuchel go was he had a massive falling out with Dortmunds then head scout, who he banned from the ground. Dortmund thought so highly of the scout they let Tuchel go instead. Not sure if true, but if yes, seeing as that scout is now our head scout, you can rule Tuchel out as a future Arsenal manager!

Don't start Steven U. The page is still shaking after the last civil war you started on here 😂.

haha i said it very quietly.

Ancelotti would be a good short term solution. He has the experience to steady a very rocky ship over the next year or so before a younger, more long term solution is appointed.

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal won't be looking for a coach for a year.}

11 Jan 2018 17:13:24
Exactly ed002. Surely these rumours of arsene leaving a year early are nonsense.

{Ed002's Note - He seems to be working on being sent to the stands for the whole of next season. One wonders if he will decide time has come. With the senior management changes at the club it may be a suitable time.}

11 Jan 2018 20:00:21
Ed 002, when you say that they won't be looking for a coach for another year, do you mean that they haven't got an idea on a successor whatsoever?

It seems strange that Wenger has a year left and they might not have even started looking for successors yet, but that is the Arsenal way I suppose!

{Ed002's Note - That isn't what I said - you need to read the comment and the response.}

11 Jan 2018 20:19:21
I read it wrong the first time too. Unless I'm mistaken (never unlikely) , Ed wasn't saying that they're going to wait a year before searching for a new coach, he was stating that the coach they're looking for will be expected to stay for more than just a year (of course) .

11 Jan 2018 23:16:26
Mike Dean should be our next manager as he is very impactful.

12 Jan 2018 11:50:47
I thought Mikel Arteta was being lined up to replace him?

13 Jan 2018 14:23:13
Yes i think arteta would be a good replacement for mike dean.
