I just can't get excited about this transfer. Yes his goal scoring record is great but he's second fiddle to Giroud in his national team for a reason. were supposedly looking for a more effective player than giroud right? . Like Sanchez a world class player isn't a bench warmer for his national team.

Dechamps likes Giroud it's simple don't knock the guy at the time we bought Sanchez he was a bench warmer at Barca, maybe not Chile but they don't have the strength in depth as the French do we moan that we don't sign proven players and we moan when we try to?

He is frozen out because the manager likes to play with a big man upfront otherwise he would play 100% he will be more effective in arsenals style of play then giroud is IMO.

If we keep Ozil and sign Lacazete I can see him being deadly for us, he's more like an Ian Wright type player which would suit out style and Ozil will always have someone standing on the shoulder if the last defender ready to make the run.

I'm with you coldice! And it's no shame to be a bench warmer at Barcelona but I personally don't think he's as good as giroud! Let's hope not. It stinks of a club who can't get a lewandowski or a aubameyang. But he is a different type of player and let's hope a change is as good as a rest ðŸ‘ðŸ».

I do agree with what a lot of you are saying. He's a great signing if it goes through. An awesome signing. But big clubs buy big names and I don't think he's a massive name. Put it this way, how many fans will have Lacaztte printed on their shirts? I know it's not about that, it's about results and I don't question he'll be a hit in this Arsenal team. Just be good to have a big profile signing, someone every fan regardless of what team they support know of them. We rarely buy profiles and when we do we can't keep hold of them.

Hes obviously a good player, how good, that's the question. He isn't a "winner" of the big trophies and that's a little worry. He isn't a regular at international level and he wasn't top scorer in his league. He doesn't dominate games, he's a goal scorer, is that enough, who knows.
