Seen a few places linking us to Benatia at Bayern. wondering if there was any truth in this?
Would be a decent good follow up to Xhaka if we can get him at the right price.
Thanks.

Well, bayern just bought hummels, so they will be offloading one of their defenders, either benatia or martinez for sure. I think Benatia will be a very good addition, with plenty of experience playing for a top team in europe. what's my fellow gunners thoughts of him?

Would be a great signing.

Well I wouldn't say no to Benatia but I think we should be looking at someone younger that will take the reigns from kos once he decides to move on or hang up his boots.

Varane
Laporte (although citeh bound)
Marquinhos
Rugani
Murillo
Stones
Tah

There are plenty out there that will improve us and at a much younger age, they can develop and become our rock. i don't see the point in signing a 29 year old when our defence is aging enough as it is.

I think I remember us being linked with Rugani last summer. think those top three would be too expensive and unwilling to come but would be good to have a quality young defender.

Never know, Chambers might become a rock at the back next season.

Eds do you know if arsenal are interested in Benatia? And if so what do u make of him?

{Ed001's Note - there has been longstanding interest from Arsenal, but I don't expect any more to materialise in the summer. It is difficult to judge him, he looks good when I have seen him play, but playing for Bayern is easy for a defender and the internationals (unless I am mixing him up with someone it is Morocco he plays for right?) have been against a low standard of opponent. I have looked at him purely because he was of interest to Arsenal and he does look a good fit, from what I saw. Age and injury history might count against any more due to the price being too high for a 29 year old.}

Rugani had another encouraging season, he'll be a top top player

As for chambers, I'd love to see him grow into that centre half position, he looked far more comfortable there than at RB, he just needs to calm down abit, he's a headless chicken as it stands. Maybe a loan is best for him next year?

Beilik could do with some game time, he's impressed me this season, maybe next season is to early for him but I'd chuck him in there for the cup games n whatnot.

Thanks for the response Ed. In your opinion who do you think will be the best fit for arsenal in the centre back position?

{Ed001's Note - players such as Musacchio would be the best fit for Arsenal. He is not perfect defensively, but he is quick for the high line and technically excellent on the ball. Maybe Mustafi from Valencia would be good too, especially as he has lived in England before so should be quick to adapt.}

Do you think any of the players you have mentioned are realistic targets for arsenal?

{Ed001's Note - yes, which is why I mentioned the pair of them. Both are available, both have been looked at.}

Ohhh okay thanks ed for your responses.
