Yesterday just frustrated out of me. Unless they were injured / suspended I believe Emery perceived the game as three points and could play a weakened team and get away with it. He misjudged in my opinion not least Palace needed a win to secure survival! Mustafi is a liability and doesn’t care enough! As an outsider my mate just accused us of not being businesslike at end of season when all up for grabs! I agree and that starts at the top! He deserves time but we are no longer a club that will give the manager years to get it right!
All four clubs fighting for top four are miles behind pep and Klopp and the next few windows will be crucial for all . All four can be woeful ( spurs less so but they should be two points behind us with their best ever ) . Again do we trust Emery to improve us - for me I think yes on the evidence of Sokratis Lucas and Leno. Nearly May and still in Europe and chance of top four! Maybe papering over the cracks but for first season I believe it’s a start. Every game a cup final, no World Cup they can relax this summer the top three seem to as I say be more businesslike with a better attitude. Sunday’s attitude needs to change if we are to get top four COYG.

I think the team selection was naive but like has been said, we don't know the full circumstances with injuries and recovery, that is now used. The players today are a little wrapped in cotton wool but i think a strong team will be out next two games. Strangely toots, utd, chelski and us all failed to win this weekend. I can see that happening again to similar outcomes. Its all tight.

Team selection v Palace was limited, as we had Sokratis suspended, and injuries to Bellerin, Holding, Welbeck, Suarez, Ramsey and Xhaka (? ) . In addition having had a heavy schedule some players were either carrying injuries or were extremely fatigued. I am hopeful that v Wolves we will start with our strongest line up, with the exception of injured players, so Maitland-Niles, Sokratis, Monreal, Torreira, Xhaka, Mkhitaryan, etc will come back into the starting line up.
As for none of the 4 contenders for a top four place winning, it was no surprise as all four played in Europe midweek, indeed Chelsea had a day extra rest and managed the solitary point from the four teams. As 3 of the four teams are still in Europe, the added burden of 2 midweek matches will have a bearing on the final table.
