Ed’s, if Arsenal were to hang on to 3rd position in the prem till the end of the season do you see the club getting behind Emery and giving him solid money to work with?

With our sustainability transfer system and staying within the clubs means I have a horrible gut feeling that no matter how well the club places there will not be significant funds there to go out and buy multiple top drawer players.

Its a shame if it is the case, hope I’m wrong tho 🤞

Anyone else have an opinion on the matter?

{Ed001's Note - depends on what you term 'significant'.}

More than 150million Ed?

{Ed001's Note - is that for one transfer? One window? Does that include signing fees? Bonuses? Agent fees? Is that gross or net spend?}

Not one transfer, but one window. And does not include signing fees, bonuses and agent fees. And it is gross spend not net spend.

{Ed001's Note - so it is perfectly possible as you could well offload a lot, Emery wants to completely rebuild the squad. However it is not likely, you have not brought in people to spend big money on big transfers. Your scouting network is set up to scout for value. There is no intention to compete in terms of spending.}

Thanks Ed. I want to ask you, if Arsenal finish third this year, where would u say we will finish next season?

And also where do you think Adrien Rabiot will end up next season?

{Ed001's Note - I don't think where you finish this season will have any bearing on next season. What matters is tightening up that defence because you can't continue riding your luck, it will come crashing down eventually.

I have no idea where Rabiot will end up. I know he is a Liverpool fan but I don't see any interest from them. There is such a lot of baggage and he is asking so much in wages etc that it is putting off the likes of Spurs who really want him. So I have no idea where he will end up now his chance of getting a move to Barca looks dead.}

Thanks Ed, good luck with Liverpool.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate. Don't worry the club are behind Emery but he joined knowing the plan was not to try and compete with City etc on transfers. You are looking to buy the next Lewandowski rather than buy Lewandowski at his peak. I doubt it will have changed because of the change in personnel.}

I don’t know if it’s just luck or not but the way I see the Arsenal scouting network of the last 10 years is that we have identified good talent and had decent opportunity’s in getting said talent at a good price early, I’m sure to mention names like mbappe, ousman dembele and now Pepe I think we have waited that season too long and they have had a cracker the year after and just like that out of our reach. So do you think it’s a fair shout that I think the scout network is there but the decision making to get them has been suspect or at least not very proactive Ed?

{Ed001's Note - that is very true mate. Wenger was always too loyal to the players he already had.}

I’d just like to see a finger on the pulse a bit more often I think!

Ed just thinking about it now, what players do u think we will sign? Not positions but players, u can guess.

{Ed001's Note - I am not going to start guessing names mate. You don't even know where you will finish in the table yet.}
