Stick to this formation it obviously works what change somthing that works? I’ll het excited when we beat bigger teams, yes a win is a win, but Iam not jumping over the moon about beating Bournemouth.

Welsh, you really don't get it or want to get it. Dick does his homework on the opposition and each game sets his team and sends them out with instructions, as to how best we can get a result. He is also changing personell to suit. He actually takes time to try and beat the opposition, rather than send the same team out, with the same players and same plan A. that's his way, that's his style. I actually like the fact that he is actually planning and thinking about tactics and not letting the grass grow under the players feet. He is a proactive manager and thst is refreshing after the reactive one we had before and even then he very rarely reacted. that's his style warts and all.

Steve - then why can’t he stop our defence from being useless. Why did he play out from the back against City with Cech in goal. that doesn’t stack up and his first half performances show that. he isn’t tactically aware or organised. What makes you think he is?

Sy, i have explained until i'm blue in the face, if we have most of our first choice defenders available, we will be better than all of them out. The truth is and i can't see your problem, what happened at citeh, was probably no different to what will happen yo a lot of teams that go there at the minute. We were actually doing ok until injury struck and a poor reffing decision. But whatever, we wasn't going to go to citeh and attack attack attack, we would have got beat 8-0 and i'm sure that would have put more bullets in your gun to shoot him. Look at the league and tell me the guy is doing worse at the moment. i'm not sure i know, exactly what you expected 6 months into a long term rebuild. The thing is, while he is making massive changes at this club we are still at a good level, this early in his tennure. We are 13 points off the top in march and still in with a shout of top four, you may not think that's good enough but for me, just now, i'm happy. Whatever happens against toots or utd, we will still be scrapping for the top four for a while yet, unlike previous seasons.

My point is you state he’s thinking and planning tactics which just makes me laugh - he’s criticised for changing the side all the time and dropping key players, poor set ups, etc etc chasing a game to switch a striker for a striker or not playing any creative players, playing a defensive live on half way line. Praise him but seriously not for tactics or planning or organising skills please.

Sy, i'm sorry, players may not be good enough at tmes but to say he isn't using tactics is ludicrous. Are sure you understand that better players can play to tactics better and lesser players cant. If they aren't good enough, they aren't good enough. I don't know where magic wands came into the game of football to magically make dodgy players top class. When we have our better players available, we are better, when we have our worse players available, we are worse. There is only so kuch you can do with players that for years have been poor at actually defending, injured or over the hill for the top level.
