If reports are true about the reasons why Milsintat was let go and why Monchi may be coming in, then I salute the direction.

Basically reports say the club want to go back to roots and find exceptional young talent, like Monchi does, and move away from buying experience, apparently like Sven does.

I can get behind that reason.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed’s, is the above comment from RSharpe true about the direction the club wants to go in?

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea, sorry. If that is what the club has said then it will likely be correct. It will remove all major involvement with transfers away from Emery and he will be aware of that.}

Yep - reading that and would love to see some of our first team youngsters, loaners and U23 squad given a chance. Building a team that hits 6th gear in 3 seasons is fine with me as long as we have a clear plan with ambition. Add a couple of 25 to 28 year old experienced heads and I like it.

I ran through that list a few weeks back and there’s talent. Emery inherited some great potential, great attacking force but a poor defence. Hopefully he sees that or the new DOF sets the tone and direction.

Guendouzi? Personally I though Sven did a fantastic job of getting us we we needed immediately first and foremost.
Last summer we needed ready to go now players like Torreira and Papa and Sven delivered well in my opinion.
I think we might have made a huge mistake in letting Sven leave and bringing in Dicks mate instead, time will as always tell.

That word potential sends shivers down my spine when used in connection with Arsenal's next generation of young players SY mate.
In the 2006 league cup against Chelsea even though we lost 2 1 all the talk was of the potential of our young players and how they were going to be dominant in a 2 to 3 years time, well 13 years havr past since then and the last player from our academy to really make a big name for themselves was Cesc.

Thanks Ed.

And then we sell them to make a profit, this leadership is all about the bank not the cabinet.

Banbury - that was the issue. The team was picked apart to fund the stadium. Probably lacked a few leaders also.

It wouldn't have happend if we'd stayed at Highbury, worst move ever in our history in my opinion.
It took away Arsenes focus 100% from football turned him into a legacy builder off the pitch rather than on it.

We couldn't stay at Highbury G62.It was outdated and needed replacing. If we were still there we would be so far behind other teams now. I still think it a miracle that we found the room for the new stadium so close to the original. All we need now is for TFL to spend some cash and improve the local tube stations. As Spurs fans will soon find out, increasing your crowd without really improving surrounding infrastructure is not a good idea.
