How concerned is everyone about our super long injury list, the window is fast closing, I know we shouldn’t make knee jerk signings but we are desperately short.

I said a few weeks ago, so to be boring, we won’t finish any higher than 4th with the USA running the club, it’s quite obvious and clear for all to see, we won’t overspend . I’m of the opinion we need a couple of Summer transfer windows that the spends dwarfs the income in order for us to challenge, thereafter things will settle down, until then be happy with domestic cup challenges. or not .

Agree0 Disagree1

I do think with holding, kos and socatis all out in the immediate future, we are up the creek without a paddle. What do we do? probably bite the bullet and hope for a miracle. They would probably be most people's first three choices for center back and what's left isn't going to stop much. I think the truth is, we can get 6th still but as far as qualifying for CL, get kos and soc back for march and hope for a concerted effort in the EL. that's probably being realistic.

I am not certain the CB crisis is quite as bad as we think. We have Mustafi and Mavrapanos (hopefully) fit for tomorrow's match. Whilst, assuming Koscielny's jaw isn't broken he may be back for the Man City match, if not shortly afterwards. Sokratis should then be back at the beginning of March. Perhaps a short term loan, until the end of the season, for Gary Cahill would be sensible.
The area of major concern is still the 3 in Emery's favoured 4-2-3-1. Quite frankly none of the players impress and ultimately need to be moved on and replaced. We are being linked with Rebic, who would be a decent signing and Perisic would be a good short term solution, although a younger player would be preferable. Until the end of the season a three of Rebic, Ramsey and Perisic would be a huge improvement on any current combinations. We have left it so late in the current window, that one loan signing or two at best seems the likely outcome, although I wouldn't be at all surprised if none are made, particularly as we are looking to take quality players on loan. It's a bit depressing as after the summer signings and Emery having seen the players perform at close quarters for half a season, I was expecting a couple of permananet signings in the current window, followed by a further 3 or 4 in the summer window. Thus almost a total overhaul of the weak sqaud he inherited.

Front 2 picks itself, Laca and Auba must play every game together. Backed up by Ramsey or Ozil where appropriate, bring Mkhi back in when he's fit. That part at least is a no brainer.
