Limping our way to the end of the year. When the window opens we clearly need to buy at least 2 players, replacements for Holding and Welbeck. In addition it is becoming obvious that we need to move on and replace Ozil and Iwobi. Players such as Maitland-Niles needs to improve, he was poor when he came on.
I am certain Emery knows what he needs, the problem is that he still needs to clear out some players and January is a difficult window in which to sign players. I'm dreading the Liverpool match. I thought Guendouzi and Sokratis were our best two players today,

Maitland Niles, was poor lost the ball and just shrugged his shoulders, Iwobi looks clueless sometimes
He may know what he needs but whether the funds we be available.

I think the 22 game run made us all lose track of what a huge job and underwhelming squad I Dick inherited.
Dick has played his limited hand brilliantly so far but ultimately I think it's inevitable that city Liverpool Spurs and Chelsea are going to have too many picture cards and aces for Dick to keep us in it with so many 5s 6s 7s in his hand.
January needs to deal us some extremely lucky cards to give us any real chance of sticking with other teams who had such ahead start on us this season.
This seasons top 4 was always a huge ask but I'm sure next season we will have a much stronger hand to play with.

Comparing ourselves to Liverpool is only useful when comparing Jurgen first season to Dicks job now Welsh mate.
Jurgen inherited a very similar Liverpool squad to what we currently have in terms of quality and I'm sure it will take Dick at least as long to get things right for us.

I must have watched a different game as i thought Guendouzi was one of our worst players (along with Lichtensteiner. please come back soon Bellerin! ) , and has been very poor the last few games. Sadly he should be nowhere near the first team currently, he looks like what he is, a player from the 2nd tier french league who is trying to step up, and should be given smaller roles or loaned out, but to be starting regular games shows how light we are in midfield. We were poor yesterday, and so lightweight in midfield. Time and time again any loose balls in the middle of the pitch are lost to to the opposition, putting the defense under extreme pressure. Its not any one players fault, its just the way we seem to set up. Cracks starting to show, but not hopeful we will address them properly in January, and when we do it, i fear that it will be done all on the cheap. Also, don't know what's going on with Laccazettes mind, but to be substituted again, and for Iwobi of all people, he might as well make it easy for the club and hand in a transfer request. The manager clearly doesn't really think he can play 2 strikers for any long period, and Lacca is far too good to be sitting on our bench, and so sadly, he might as well try elsewhere.

Welsh how long had Klopp been at Liverpool before he spent huge on a CB and Gk mate?
The high priced CB last January and Gk last summer were the finishing touches added once the foundations fixtures and fittings had already been achieved mate. It's not as if Klopp arrived simply added Van Dijk and everything just fell into place by magic, there was an awful lot of ground work done with the players he inherited plus some very smart bargain buys done long before Van Dijk got there.
This time last year people were still saying how Liverpools defence were there weakness but now it's there greatest asset, of course adding an outstandingly brilliant CB has gone a long way to helping that happen but it was no 70 millions magic bullet.
We are still in process of dismantling the final peices of hhe cosy club who have been used to running down their contacts and holding the club to ransom for wages way beyond their ability or what they have ever Delivered in an Arsenal shirt consistently.
When Aaron and Mesut leave they will be the last of that generation with the me me me mentality rather than a Arsenal and me one and that will take us another step forward and who knows maybe next January we might be in a position where we can 70 million on just one player who can make a huge difference to us but right now we are a long way away from needing Just one player.
